  1. I find it incredulous that you claim you have those qualifications then use the alleged possession of them to justify not understanding that carbon can be burned in oxygen.
  2. no trouble believing that..... the world has been going mad for a long time now.
  3. No mel i just tire of you going on about things you don't like in a country you clearly cannot know much about. My amican friends who have been to sheffield liked it and like to read whats going on here see your uniformed comments and think a lot of other brits are both uniformed and judgemental. BTW I don't know or care wherr you live but as I do not live under a fictional bridge please stop trying to infer I am a troll or I will have to report you.
  4. We could ......but I strongly believe we should not and would not let my children use them or any child for which I had any responsibility. Nor do I respect your self perceived right to put children in your care at risk. Unisex changing rooms put women at danger of sexual assault, data reveals besides if you allow mixed changing and toilet facilities how long will it be before normal people no longer have a choice when the single sex facilities are replaced. as its sometimes best to explain yourself in advance of the PC brigade's inevitable misunderstandings btw before someone whinges i am using the oxford english dictionary definition of normal. coupled with my own personal belief to which i am entitled that with the exception of a few hermaphrodites all other people are either male or female. as i'm concerned the gender binary, also referred to as gender binarism is the classification of sex and gender into two distinct, opposite and disconnected forms of masculine and feminine.
  5. must admit i never offer any assistance to homeless people with dogs as i believe they are all frauds. i have never seen one homless person with a dog that looked as though it was hungry and besides if i was hungry i would not have a dog for long. if we are both thinking of the same guy that youi mention i heard from some genuine homeless people that he died in a RTA in his own car.
  6. I see you are such a font of wisdom that you can now over rule the highway code ... i was ignorant of this marvelous attainment of yours ... good luck with it in a court room. You really must open your mind to the truth and not become stuck on fantasy or wishful thinking cyclone I repeat; when a pedestrian leaves the pavement they have right of way. please read the first few suggestions given by this google search highway code pedestrians and right of way yes we can well believe that you would. i'd like tham all to be able to prove they were competent to be on the road with a ministry approved test but we cant it would seem all have our own way fortunately not a religious person myself i can recognise common sense and wisdom when i see it so excuse me if i take a leaf out of the bible when it comes to adults roads and pedal cycles Corinthians 13:11 nuff said really. ---------- Post added 03-09-2018 at 15:33 ---------- well said alchemist ---------- Post added 03-09-2018 at 15:42 ---------- MOST ? please quote your source... i would really like to see that ....it is i think as likely as the probability of finding rockinghorse droppings. and when you say insurance do you mean 3rd party insurance? and without number plates and a registration scheme how do you explain the means by which pedalists can be held accountable for their actions or indeed their traffic violations. btw they would not get hit by other road users if they were not playing on the roads. i would not let a child on the road and i expect adults to know better
  7. well that is one of the most absurd replies i've ever read. i do appreciate replies to any of my posts but only by those asking questions or alternatively thos offering suggstions that come from an INFORMED position please. wild an inaccurate speculation like the above is not welcome i think we all except those whose ability to understanding is challenged know that oxygen is used whenever we burn things and that we can burn Carbon. but for the lesser witted i also include this a simple internet search with would you believe the first result Q. Can we burn Carbon? A.Carbon is most often is present in incompletely burned ashes. Carbon itself burns, combining with oxygen to make CO2 (and sometimes carbon monoxide). https://van.physics.illinois.edu/qa/listing.php?id=1548 SO in theory it is possible to burn carbon dioxide and more easily so if we first split the carbon and oxygen atoms from the co2 molocule.
  8. mel it happened in the US how many people in sheffield do you think really care about what americans do to each other how their government makes things happen to create excuses for what ever they want to do to its own citizens.
  9. pedestrians do have right of way and I believe as soon as they leave the pavement . i agree with you i think you are right you should have at least 3rd party insurance to ride a pedal bike in the public domain and the government should make it compulsory and soon then watch as the insurance companies start to offer considerably cheaper insurance to those that are qualified to ride pedal bikes in public, and make them have a helmet, proper lights, a camera maybe even a black box and a certificate to show their machines are road worthy... maybe even medical and vision checks for the riders... plus some means of helping to ensure a degree of accountability like a number plate all sounds good to me. i'd sign any petition to enforce pedalists to have 3rd party insurance if asked.
  10. No need for fracking if they would just use some sense hydrogen burns in oxygen we can build internal combustion engines that run on water carbon burns in oxygen I can't see why we seem to be unable build engines that run on CO2 no fracking necessary and the solution to another so called problem
  11. So 40,000 women interested in running for office in the US according to the Independent and 43 wannabes it will be interesting to see how many of both get voted in. not sure what that has to do with sheffield or the uk more pertinent perhaps there are 208 female MPs in the UK and so far one 1 wannabe for the next election hardly exciting news... certainly nothing to make you spill your cocoa
  12. and how long had labour been in power selling off our reserves cheap to foreigners and raiding the pension pots before driving these people onto the streets of a tory run country where they thought they might at last have a chance roof or no roof, walls or not, ....of course it is.
  13. you have insurance .. how many don't ? and only 30p a week .. how tight is that you no license plate .. so reduced, if any, accountability no proof you are competent to be on the road... no a car license does not count just as it does not exempt motorcycle users from needing to pass their cbt no proof your vehicle is fit to be on the road Also if you have any lights a lot are illegal for motor vehicles on 3 counts ..excessively bright, mis-aligned, and flashing some of you pedalists talk a good game and even if you stick to all you say, which i doubt, hardly any of you really do stick to it and what you say is still woefully inadequate for you to be collectively considered as serious road users and not just irresponsible big kids playing on the surfaces where there are motorists and/or pedestrians . get some proper legislation like and similar in nature to that of other road users, staff and comply to it, stay off walkways foot paths, footways and pedestrian precincts and fall in with al mentioned above behave reasonably and most of us will accept you are as entitled as anyone else to take your chances on the ROADS along with other qualified road users. maybe..
  14. i love it how some pedalists really try to put emphasis on the very few vehicles requiring no road tax because of low emissions. well don't forget the vehicles that are over 40 years old. those two groups alone must add up to ooh i duno mayybe 1 maybe 2% of all the vehicles on the road. OOOOOhhh shiny!!! you are just hairsplitting and rather than emphasising your point you diminish all you have said because of the pettyness of your comment as a general rule pedalists just ignore all the other ways in which they are completely not like other people that use motorised vehicles on the road. and we all know some of them will say i have a car as well. but you can't drive both at once can you. and BTW a car driver that has a motorcyle has to pass 6 tests to prove his/her competence to be on the road. all the pedalist needs is push-bike the truth of the matter is you would argue black was white and are willing to ignore any facts that you cant dispute rather than concede any point that is made against pedal cycles being ridden where there are other people either on foot or in vehicles.
  15. that not going to work.... the hole in the argument is a hole in yours. if i have a vehicle to use on the road i pay road tax whether its on the road or not and i have to do so for each vehicle i have no matter how many and that payment is for loads of time i'm not actually on the road with those vehicles if you have a pedal cylcle regardless of how many other vehicles you have you dont pay road tax for a pedal cycle. Now thats just silly.. why pay a congestion charge for each separate vehicle i own when i can only be out congesting with one vehicle at a time. ..
  16. at one time if you were detained by the police for anything whilst under the influence of alcohol they would not release you until you were, in their evaluation, sober. your safety and their liability being the reasons. if the same is true of drug use that presents some problems. Cannabis use leaves cannabis in your clood for about 3 months .. theoretically if you have cannabis in your body you are under its influence thus if you operate a vehicle on a public road in that time you are actually DUI. in that case a cannabis user ought if detained by the police to be held for 3 months.. expensive i grant you but seems reasonable. my point.... is ths why the police don't like to arrest and detain users of drugs and in this case spice? or is it because the majority of 'police' on our steets not being filmed for cheap low imagination tv are in fact community constables .. which i've heard (needs verifying) like ordianry citizens no longer have powers arrest ? ---------- Post added 13-08-2018 at 16:51 ---------- there being more photos makes it more wrong not less. Prior similar offences do not make a crime justifiable. stealing and using someones image is sometimes illegal when its a celeb well the same should apply to everyone at all times i could see you in town and thats life. if take photos of you and then place them in the public domain without your permission thats ok too ...according to you. well i don't think it is. you will never get me to concede that point.
  17. unfortunately true but if you don't try then you have already failed aye and remember they only pay them 7 pound odd an hour and how many of them are employed on a part-time basis with reduced rights or even on zero hours with virtually no rights. which is why i also generally will wait for a till operator. i will use the self check outs when there is nobody else using them because then they sometimes have two people minding 8 tills with only one customer.
  18. you can call it what you want............. you can call a pig betty but its still a pig. truth of the matter is most people will contine to call VED (thats Vehicle Excise Duty) road tax. and do an internet search for road tax and you will be offered lots of suggestions using that exact phrase. by opting to use a motorised vehicle on the public roads you incur taxes that rest of the population do not. you still have to pay road tax on sucha vehicle for the time its not on the road, which is really extracting the urine most motorised road users pay road tax and also very heavy taxes for their use of the fuel they need. pedalists are free loaders in that sense. there is no reasonable denial of that possible. also many of the financial costs (if not all) of running a motor vehicle on the road include other taxes which are generally far higher than any taxes paid to the state by pedalists.
  19. good points. the contracts allow and have allowed amey to get away with alsorts from the onset which in my opinion raises lots of questions about the people who were involved at every level of the contracts from their drawing up top completion and their relationship with amey. read carefully.... im accusing no person of anything i'm only passing on my opinion.
  20. i'd point out that the stastic mentioned previously in theis thread related to deaths not to non fatal incident involving pedal cyclists when a person or vehicle is in a collision with a cyclist how does one report an incident and to who? they have no license number by which to identify them. what would be the point of reporting them anway..they can leave the scene ..with impunity. A motorist would be in serious trouble. not even 3rd part insurance. no proof of competence like motorcyclist learner has to at least pass their CBT. if adults insist on playing on the road on their pedal cycles then ownership of licenses and the same rules must be applied to them as every other road user. there is so much wrong with most pedal cyclists, thier being on the road their conduct on and off it that we really should have a whole new thread about it. i'm a biker of several decades, many of the hazards pedal cyclists face motorcyclists do too but unlike the riders of scooters anf mopeds the pedalists will certainly get no respect from me until have earned and deserved it.
  21. nice article with a more reasonable use of photographs thatinclude people.
  22. we don't know at all ...we have been told ....but without evidence it ought to be and given amy's investment in vehicles and machinery a realistic threat to just cancel the contracts and have them vacate council property effective immediately ought to have the desired effect or just do it for real. like the council allegedly does to members of the public that employ it they could end the contract today and using their pet lawyers spin out amey's appeal for years or until amy just dies off.
  23. perhaps it was too difficult to follow. sorry i am not the one with any aggressive feelings I was referring to yourself. and as a centre for shopping sheffield is dying it is a more a transport hub and a place for businesses that dont require footfall i find many conspiracy theories entertaining some have merit and some not. some are just a distraction. but i have not heard this one of yours where is that one to be found please. you are! .. you definitely give the impression you'd rather them be in camps. i have a number of questions I work into conversation (omg fill talks to them) that help me form my own opinion and i react accordingly whilst at teh same time I am letting them know possible places where that can get more assistance of both the short and long term varieties should they be interested no i wont reveal the questions i ask form your own discussing them openly will help the fakers prepare 'correct' responses also some of the genuine responses may reveal things that its better not everyone knows. the addicts with some errors obviously are quite easy to spot and i have no longer have time for them as their plight is self inflicted and any effort on my part wasted unless they are non-using addicts or on a program. we shall have to agree to disagree on that I believe the star is morally wrong on this and heir taking and using many other photos with people in them.. faces showing or not
  24. Does anyone know someone that can do 2nf floor balcony cladding please.? Mines tatty but with little cutting and re wrapping will again look presentable probably see me out.
  25. and how many times on average can you successfully split any given hair? i do appreciate the entertainment i get observing the lengths cyclists will go to to protect their perceived rights and entitlements even when they are clearly misled. so very few can even prove that they have ever attained a reasonable level of proficiency before they started riding on roads and footways..which is a possible indication that potentially many of them may actually have had no formal training or in fact no idea at all as to how to ride safely on their bicycles with little or no accountability nor 3rd party insurance.
