A proper Sheffielder is someone who has Sheffield as their home no matter how long they have been here or where they come from. If they live in Sheffield they are a Sheffielder.I came here by marriage from Barnsley and our kids were born and bred here.I've lived in Sheffield longer than Barnsley now so surely I'm a Sheffielder !As for the accent it is changing because it is getting mixed with other accents whether British or foreign.

I know it's been a long time but I was in Barnsley yesterday and a real buzz about the place even on a Monday. There has been a lot of work done on the town centre and it is now a much more pleasant place to shop and eat than Sheffield City centre. And a few more Sheffielders who have been there lately have said the same thing.

Currently reading The Twist of the knife by Anthony Horowitz. It's the 3rd or 4th in this particular series and very good.

We, ve had a microwave from them, like new and lasted 18 months and a real wood dining suite which we, ve had a few years and got for a bargain price. Very satisfied.

Yes, but, worth it. 4 or 5 years ago had the most terrible bout of flu. Felt under the weather for 6 weeks after. Started having flu jabs and been fine. Have paid for them as not on the list for free ones. Already booked this year's.

I love the Moor Market and like to visit Barnsley Market. Don't know about drugs in Barnsley. All areas have them and 2 weeks ago on a Friday morning saw a bunch of druggies dealing outside the Moor Market just after 9.

Barnsley Market open Wednesday to Saturday. Very well social distanced. Paid a visit last Thursday. Very good independent book shop there now too.
