  1. Surprised that there is not a thread started bout this .... and the way that Sheffield Council are SO anti-business and now want to demolish all the successful outdoor covering areas that helped a lot of hospitality venues thru the Pandemic and brought a continental cafe culture to Abbeydale Road. How sad that they now want to undo all this progress... and throw in the extended bus lanes on top of this !!
  2. Weer is Padders ... did he ever turn up?
  3. In answer to the question, should Kate Josephs Reign as Sheffield CEO , I would say NO..
  4. There seems to be one left, now painted green, preserved which is inset into a wall on Brincliffe Edge road? I know it well ... is this the one he enhanced? I shall go up the hill and hug it one day knowing that it had been touched by Roger Moffat ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’– https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0997533/
  5. Ahhh Roger Moffat , what a legend .... here he is being interviewed after his obituary ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ It seems that at one point he lived in Nether Edge and adopted an old gas lamp post is this true?
  6. Love Potion Number 9, you are the one who needs to wake up, have you been watching too many David Icke or "Ick" as I call him videos lately ? There really is a pandemic ... but I guess unless you know someone who has actually died of it, it never brings it home to you ... and it is instead as non-real to you as the real ness of the anti-vax theories that you no doubt follow avidly on social media ๐Ÿ˜ž
  7. Well I don't know about outdoor events , but the usual fireworks targeting traffic directly was back on Abbeydale Road yesterday evening ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜
  8. There are a lot worse offending things these days than what comes out of Chubbys mouth e.g. people trafficking , spiking, drugs etc. let him be and let him entertain in Sheffield ....
  9. I think the Tories have done a good job of handling this epidemic , considering it was unprecedented in modern times. I dont know how Captain Hindsight would have handled it , doubtless we would be locked down for much longer and a lot more spending thats for sure ... ๐Ÿ˜ž
  10. I wonder for how much longer though ๐Ÿ˜ž ๐Ÿ˜ž They will probably get rid of more human staff until there are none left ....
  11. I hate to agree with you .... I have seen some of his music videos... I will be giving this one a miss ... I bet that Sheffield council will not ban him tho ๐Ÿ˜ž
  12. I have noticed the above recently with some local Sheffield hospitality venues. They sometimes give the feeble excuse that their card machine is broken that day. But repeat visits on a different day prove that that is a bare faced lie. Other venues go "cash only" certain days of the week. To be blunt, it seems to me that those venues are trying to avoid paying their due taxes just when precise time that Boris and the government needs a normal/higher tax take ... I think this is atrocious and should be called out !
  13. I think I need to explain CIS... It has come from CISAlpine Gaul which means on this side of the Alps as opposed to Transpennine which is on the other side of the Pennines. The relation to a Trans and to mountains , of which they usually have two, remains to be investigated....
  14. I am shocked by the amount of juvenile Transphobia on this thread. I daresay the same trans person from the bus station could walk around London completely unhassled and uncommented on. It shows how far Sheffield still has to develop - sigh !
  15. I love Patrick Dickinson - he is a very entertaining YouTuber. His ShedPub has inspired me to build one too ๐Ÿ™‚
  16. I've been in recently. I did find it odd that it was cash only. Maybe the card reader was having a day off ๐Ÿคจ
  17. Dont know about the bees or insects, but there is a good photography exhibition featuring Sheffield circa 1990 on at the moment. A lot of things seemed to have happened around that year ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
  18. I don't think Roy Chubby Brown would fit the narrative of Sheffield as an inclusive diverse city. This is a special diverse city, free from hate and bigotry, and it should be kept that way.
  19. You could try Dempseys on the Moor Foot. It seems a safe environment for all sorts of people and interests. They may even have a cross-dressing night if you ask the staff.
  20. Lets face it the city centre i f***** now ... I would rarely go in there any more unless I had to ... a plague of overpaid on benefits so called "homeless", muggers, alcos, smack/crack/spice heads now ....not just at night time but all hours of the day too hassling shoppers and law abiding folk .... and everyone ignoring the issues ... West St and Division st in particular are now no go areas at night ... and even inside pubs its not safe.... drinks being spiked everywhere , high prices, young people spreading covid with abandon.... above said people waiting to mug drinkers and clubbers once they emerge from venues under the weather ...only the security guard industry seems to be doing well at the moment .... its all very sad ... and not much better in other big cities either ๐Ÿ˜ž ๐Ÿ˜ž
  21. And why shoud he not play that he has good taste !๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
  22. Both Chelsea and FIrth Parks ?, at least he believes in outraging the affluent and not so affluent sides of Sheffield equally ..... ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
  23. Town doesn't feel very safe to me at the moment - especially around West and Division Streets, I'm sure its fairly disorganised what with young people drinking , and I've also heard of various news stories of physical assaults and a rape the other night ๐Ÿ˜ž
  24. I guess the date for Dempseys has now moved forward to July 19th? And did Queer Junction manage to open in May in the end? I must admit I've not been in town late evening for weeks now ๐Ÿ˜•
  25. DOes anyone know when Dempseys is re-opening again? June-ish?
