when i said they werent police i meant they were not regular police but a unit that specialises in these events meaning they have the experience and know what they are doing,no im not a police officer but i work closely with them .

it isnt a private company they are royal protection officers the same team that i have worked with on other visits to sheffield by royals.

ollie the drivers and passengers were all protection officers the only police present were the outriders so its a bit off saying the police are imcompetent as they werent running the show.

ollie, i will be meeting with HRH tomorrow and have been involved with his protection team today,they are still on the roads now having just passed the town hall again and will be continuing there runs for a while yet,the exact same procedure was followed for the G8 visit and others,they practise on several routes around the city centre.

The cars were performing practice runs on various routes in advance of tomorrows visit by Prince Andrew it is a standard security feature prior to any high profile visit.

DRAGONSOUP why do you keep refering to the chief constable when it has already been correctly stated that parking is no longer a police issue,also why keep slating the wardens they are issuing the tickets,what happens then is out of their hands if you want to rant at someone it should be at the administrators not the front line staff who can only do their bit.

we went to kuredu in february and had such a great time we re-booked a couple of days after returning,it is one of the larger islands with a whopping 3 bars to choose from!although it is a large island it only took 45 mins to walk around.The sea life is unbelievable,everything is there only feet from the beach,rays,reef sharks,moray eels and hundreds of different fish we swam with turtles just 20ft from the beach.The only thing not in the all inclusive was water which was 80p for a 1.5L bottle(free by the glass) and cocktails.The island has its own forum which we use to keep in touch with people take a look for info http://www.kuredu.com
