  1. The wording is we do not have any plans to roll it out to private cars or something similar
  2. Of course the rep told you that do you really expect them to tell you it would be a potential problem
  3. Running man You need to be very careful that the work is done properly by a reputable company there are many stories where this type of insulation has caused problems
  4. What interests me is the low priority they have given to warning in advance and explanation of who it applies to on the road signs. Fine if you live in Sheffield perhaps but not if you are a stranger to the city and have no idea if you have incurred a charge because you have say an old diesel car
  5. Yes and same with interest rates and one day the government might take action
  6. yes they will be buying energy at todays prices for future use but if the wholesale price continues to fall then there will those wondering why their bill has not fallen further where as if the price increases they will probably keep quiet
  7. Simple the energy companies buy in advance and they will have bought today’s energy ages ago when the price was higher.
  8. Indeed all politicians lie but the ones you have chosen to highlight from the remain campaign are hardly in the same league as the ones we were fed by the leavers and the lies they continue to peddle.
  9. Then again you could argue that many of the electorate would have voted differently if they had not be lied to and were told the truth about what Brexit would really mean
  10. Axe I could not agree more about the need for parties to put the interest of the country above party politics. who knows one day Boris might put the interest of the U.K. ahead of his ego as well
  11. You are absolutely right both parties are at fault on this subject. There is no proper planning and warnings about shortages have been going on for years. The problem is that it is expensive and each government wants to leave the problem for the next one to pay
  12. not in their interest is it they get more revenue - this is not a new thing and if they are forced to offer the best fare then they will increase fares elsewhere to compensate
  13. a decision that took ages and only to have nuclear stations but when and where will we see them
  14. I have to agree with you it is not as if the government have acted in these 13 years to secure our energy supply, dithering about nuclear, can't make up its mind about fracking, stopping onshore wind generation and getting rid of gas storage facilities
  15. Indeed Trainline may do this but East midlands Trains, TPE and Northern which many will use do not
  16. No bonkers system if advance purchases are available on both trains separately (now that no through trains to airport) then one would have thought trying to buy them on the one ticket would also be possible Anyway just a warning for others as this is not the first time I have seen such a difference
  17. sorry you are not comparing like with like the fares on 11th April are different from what I was looking up on 24th April - true advance fare may not have been released as yet to airport even if they have been to Piccadilly
  18. If you are traveling by train to Manchester airport and buying advance purchase tickets you should check the cost of buying the tickets to Manchester Piccadilly and then a separate ticket to the airport you could save a fortune on the same trains an example from a random date 24th April leaving Sheffield on 13.11 Transpennine express to Manchester Airport £33.90 24th April leaving Sheffield on 13.11 Transpennine express to Manchester Piccadilly £5.40 + £4.90 to airport booked separately
  19. No the government is paying for it not the operators I would have said it is Stagecoach taking the p**s there is no reason why they can not still offer a cheaper return
  20. so why was it that Sheffield got no money in its bid and other authorities did in April 2022?
