  1. Hello,

We are carrying out a study at The University of Sheffield to investigate whether individual differences in the brain predict out-of-body experiences. We are interested in hearing from everyone, regardless of whether or not you have ever had an out of body experience.

The study consists of two parts. The first part is the completion of a short questionnaire (link below) which will ask about whether or not you have ever had any type of out-of-body experience. It will also ask some questions about your medical history and drug use. The questionnaire will take about five minutes to complete. We will require you to enter your e-mail address, but all of your responses will remain confidential and will not be shared with anyone outside of the research team. Everyone who completes part one will be entered into a prize draw to win £50 of Amazon vouchers (UK only).

Depending on your pattern of responses, we may then invite you to take part in the second part of the study which will require one visit to the Psychology Department at Sheffield University. Further details about part two will be given in an invite. Please note that not everyone who completes the questionnaire in part one will be invited to take part in part two, and even if you are invited to the second part you will be under no obligation to take part.

This research has received a favourable opinion from the department of Psychology ethics committee. The Principle Investigator of the work is Dr Elizabeth Milne.
