Now you mention it, I was just thinking..

Many many years ago I used to put coffee in a mug, add boiling water then milk.. then one day, for some unknown reason, I put the milk in first and then added boiling water, tasted a lot better.   always put the milk in first now, it must help cool the boiling water.

I didn't drink a lot of coffee when I lived over there, but if I did have instant I would use hot milk instead of water.Of course that all changed when I came to Canada and I probably drink more coffee than tea nowadays.

I was born in Sheffield and all my family is from there. I love the accent and the use of language. Things that I always considered usual until my family moved away from Sheffield.

    - Calling the evening meal "tea" instead of "dinner"

    - Asking someone to clarify their statements or showing doubt in what they are saying by asking "What's thee on a'baht?"

    - Telling someone to stop acting so self-important: "Give o'ver thee sen."

    - Referring to a bench as a "form" (my grandfather said this to me just last week)

There are so many, but they're all great!

I had a 22 stone uncle who used to love filling out forms.:D

Tom Newton Dunn, political editor of the Sun is reporting that Johnson has threatened that he and his Government will go on strike if Labour refuses their 12 December election:

Latest: Boris Johnson's Govt has threatened to go on strike if Labour refuses a Dec 12 election on Monday. PM’s spokesman said: “Nothing will come before Parliament but the bare minimum. We will pursue a general every day from then onwards, and do everything we can to get it”."

That's the first time a Tory Government in my memory have so publicly supported a strike.

Hope the police are called in and they will have my blessing to batter the ******** with their truncheons!

It's a sign we are getting close to Guy Fawkes night, somebody is threatening to blow up parliament again.

There are several very different types of intelligence, all of which humanity needs to survive. Someone like, say Wayne Rooney, would be considered as unintelligent by many people but in fact he possesses a rare form of intelligence which includes things like very accurate spacial awareness, timing, etc. Someone may be a professor of chemical engineering and could easily explain the molecular structure of petrol, but wouldn't have a clue under the bonnet of a car.

You said SHE doesn't let you finish talking. I think you've answered your own question 😂

Oh boy, I can almost hearHalibut typing as I reply to your post.👹

I was poor at school compared to what school children get today.

But is intelligence about remembering stuff?

I work with someone and I think they are not very bright, a very swallow thinker.

Does your workmate choke on his words or something?😶

The current league positions are irrelevant, teams don't play every game badly because they are 20th (as WBA will testify from last night) you play what the fixtures throw at you, 3 points off the top with 13 played is a decent start.

Plus,as in all sports,a team lifts itself against top opposition, Barnsley proved that last night. So even though the Owls are winning narrowly against lower opposition, it does not mean they will collapse when playing the top clubs, could be quite the reverse.

Can I just whinge about something....

I have a 60" 4k Ultra what not TV, but I am still finding the kit class to be strainful on the eyes! Why are Stoke in their home kit! They should be wearing their black away kit! It runs the viewing of the game and I simply dont get why they are wearing a home shirt? Why have an away shirt if you aren't going to wear it away??

How did you cope in derby matches? 😉

  11. I watched a replay of that United win over Arsenal with Jag taking over the goalie's job just the day before (Sunday), and thought then this could be another win for the Blades. Aside from the top two, the premiership is not a closed shop this year, could be a great chance for the Blades to make a name for themselves up there. Keep it up lads. So nice to see  Man U. five places below eh?

& Nuhui contribution was absolutely nil & void wasted substitution needed more guile not a plodder .🙄

Maybe the substitution was for something other than tactical, i.e. Bannan was maybe not feeling 100% or some other health issue that the coaches thought needed attention. Not all in game substitutions are for tactical reasons.

Now, if Monk has said differently, I will shut mi gob up. Never did see the post game interview.

He has to do something good sometimes, everyone does, but overall, I side with Padders.

Well you guys obviously have seen him a lot more than I have,, and I do understand the blind squirrel analogy you put forward, lol.

When Westwood was out in Luhukay's team, I strongly favoured Wildsmith over Dawson. Still do. Dawson couldn't keep Goldfish. What was he doing for their goal? My mother could have saved it. If anyone cost us 2 points, it was him........... and Monk.

Dawson did save that point in the dying minutes though.
