  1. My wife and daughters would wholeheartedly agree with your choice of rucksack, what a beauty
  2. From what I have noticed over the years when women don't have a bag in their hand or on their shoulder they walk around with their arms folded.
  3. It probably came about because of the size of wallets, which were large because of the size of English paper money in years gone by.Women always had handbags containing a large purse for their paper money. Suits have probably stayed the same due to traditional tailoring, even though wallets have been reduced in size, to more match the newer sizes of paper money. That is my two penneth on the matter anyhow. You could always stitch a patch type one in, seeing as you ladies are very good with needle and thread( he says ducking). LOL
  4. Mardy arse ---------- Post added 05-10-2017 at 23:33 ---------- Way to give the topic a serious slant LOL:thumbsup:
  5. Yeah, can't wait for Anders Breivik to be reintegrated back into society
  6. Much as I would dearly love harm to be done to some of the despicable scum of society that commits acts of outrageous torture and murder, two words prevent me from wanting them executed ...... Timothy Evans.
  7. I have no problem with life meaning life whatsoever for the ones who deserve it, but sometimes the Americans take it too far, depending on the State, of course. There was a case in Texas a couple of years ago where a guy ran up 7 drunk driving charges, never killed or seriously hurt anyone and he got a life sentence. Now, I know drinking and driving is very bad, especially so many times but life in prison is a bit much. There was a case in Ontario last year where a young guy who had been drinking and driving 60km over the limit and killed 3 small kids and their grandfather and seriously injured the grandmother and he only got 10 years. One extreme to another eh? Of Ontario and Texas are not in the same Country but c'mon....
  8. You forgot, or didn't know about the Army cadets and the bricked fortress called the Tank, where the cadets did drills with Captain Wall, the PT teacher/sadist lol 50's and60's timeframe.
  9. Quebecers are the ones who want the limelight, oppressed my arse.
  10. Seems to be a worldwide phenom this break away from the parent Country thing. I guess Quebec is pretty much overdue for making waves again, here in Canada. It was a close one, the last referendum we had. They are something else, Quebec, they won't allow signage in English, yet the rest of Canada get French rammed down their throats at the grocery store and every level of government have to do everything in both English and French. A right crock of ****, in my view.
  11. Another Belgium perhaps, the Catalonian thing that is? Ironically that is the EU head office location so that merger of the Flemish-French and Dutch worked out OK, I guess.
  12. Unfortunately, you are 100% right, losing their guns would be like losing a limb to most American gun owners. Thank God we have controls in Canada, although 3000plus miles of undefended border with the US, means guns can be had if you want one bad enough. However owning an unlicensed weapon is a serious offence here, especially a handgun or any firearm that can be concealed.
  13. Obama tried very hard to bring in gun controls, during his 2 terms in office, but the NRA is too powerful even for a President to overcome. I can't envisage a right-wing version like Republican Trump even trying to curb the sale of weapons to the public. Those Presidential executive orders cannot be used to change the US Constitution. The right to bear arms is the 2nd amendment of the US Constitution, and can only be changed by a unilateral act of Congess.
  14. A US President alone cannot make a change to the US Constitution, that can only be done by Congress, and the NRA basically run that show.
  15. Of course they do, they are jealous, the sick ********.
  16. Yeah, something has to be done, we are down to our last 36 games.
  17. Wasn't trying to be a smartass, lol. I was genuinely glad that some posters on here, who were wanting it, will now get a brand new copy at cost, rather than resort to Amazon and the like and get ripped off. Cheers. Incidentally, I went to grab the book to relay the contact information to the OP, now I can't put it back, I am absorbed in it once again
  18. Thay's good to know, the OP might have got one by now, as I posted that phone number on Monday or Tuesday see post#6
  19. In Ontario one statement covers a number of infractions.'i.e " driver impairment" or driving while impaired. This means a police officer can take your license and your keys for 12 hours. You will also have to pay towing fees, and impound charges. Impairment includes smell of alcohol or admission of alcohol consumption, even if you blow under the limit, suspected drug usage, and vision problems. In other words, if a cop suspects you are unsafe to continue your journey , he can make sure that you do not.
  20. That book Sheffieldish was being offered on line at ridiculous prices for the same reasons i.e.out of print, however, I believe the descendants of the author were publishing it again. Not sure that has happened though. That is a way to go, try lobbying the publishers, if enough interest is found they may run another edition. ---------- Post added 26-09-2017 at 23:36 ---------- Sorry to hear that RIP Martin. So many have passed on who were featured in or contributed to that book, since it came out 16 years ago, notably, Joe Cocker, Terry Steeples and recently journeyman bassist and guitarist, local lad Mal Hooley, plus quite a few more, I would guess, considering the time frame the book covers.
  21. You are right, only the courts can impose a ban, but the police can suspend your license and take your keys off you for 12 hours if you have been drinking, even if under the limit. Maybe they can also do this after a failed eye test, that is perhaps what the poster means. Mind you, I am stating what happens in Canada, could be different in the UK.
  22. Before I developed major eye problems I was told by my optometrist that I was borderline, and that meant she did not have to report it to the Ministry of Transport and the information would not be encrypted on my license. I was about 60 ish, I think, at the time. However, the criteria may be a little different in the UK.
