Much money from "sam@trialstation.com"

Thanks! I'm routinely deleting them as they come. -
There is a precedent for the monarch failing to agree with Parliament, and for Parliament's reaction; it was set in 1649.

I am receiving regular emails from the address above. They relate to the amount of money piling up in my "account" with them, and inviting me to claim it. Since I've done nothing for which I would pay such money, I feel this must be a scam. Google is no help; anybody know about this site?

A problem with democracy: Imagine a 100% voter turnout; 55% vote for a "strong leader" party, which proposes to abolish future elections as threat to "national stability". Should we accept the "democratically expressed will of the people", and put the strong leader in place, removing the risks of future political change, and allowing the leader to adopt the Fuhrerprinzip?

The Monkey King earned the title of "Aware of Vacuity", maybe for learning the significance of ZERO.

Who would be the first President of a British republic?

Some friends came over from USA. We showed them DA's videos. They were astounded; they knew the videos, but in USA they are presented and narrated by --- Oprah Winfrey! (They can't understand DA's accent) So if we choose DA as President, will the USA elect Oprah? (Better than getting the DT's, anyway!) -

This machine is a Medion brand desktop. AMD processor, lots of RAM, and HDD space, about 4 yrs old. It came from ALDI. I do my "heavy work" on it. But today, at the computer club, I used a laptop that cost me $400 (200 quid?) to edit all the movies shot* taking my great-grandson to the beach and the Yandina Ginger Factory ( http://www.gingerfactory.com.au/ ) last week, demonstrating Windows "Movie Maker" to some fellow members. It did the jod quite well. * on a GoPro -
Hawaii's tallest mountain Mauna Kea is 13,796 ft (4,205 m) above mean sea level. Distance to the horizon 225.9 Kilometres from 4,000 metres high. If the high point of the island is 40 metres or so high, then you should be able to see this island from Mauna Kea. Were you claiming to se it from the beach level? BTW, this calculation is based on the generally believed curvature of the Earth, based on similar observations made over centuries.

In the USA, a president is elected every 4 years by an electoral college - the college is who the people vote for, not the pres. directly. Then their Representatives are elected separately, to represent their electors. UK and Australia elect members to a Lower House of Parliament. These MP's do the "Electoral College" job of electing a prime minister, and have the right to change PM's at any time (usually done sneakily in the Party Room); but they have two tasks. One is to represent the voters; the other is to support (or bring down) the PM. These two roles sometimes conflict. -
Will Johnny Depp be bringing his dogs? We had to bar them from Australia.

Some parents are not highly educated. But that shouldn't stop them from allowing their children space and time in the home to do homework. We know that children of Race X cannot expect to do well at school because their homes are poor and crowded; funnily enough, Vietnamese refugee families lived in poverty and overcrowding here -- but the parents thought children's education mattered, and encoraged them. Soon they were outperforming many white middle-class kids. Respect education -- your children will take it up! -
It's interesting to think that only one being in the universe can be truly free, not needing to take into account the preferences of others. Your freedom to breathe out tobacco smoke interferes with my freedom to breathe clean air. My driving on the left makes your freedom to drive on the right dangerous. That's why people have agreed to sacrifice some freedoms, and constitute a government with authority to control things.

Only if a "god" exists who needs either psychotherapy of eternal imprisonment! "he" would have to be seriously weird in the head!

I thought many oil producers hadmoved their oil money into other areas, like the Swiss bank accounts of their leaders.
