  1. Seeking someone to do a bit of brickwork for my outhouse (building a wall, repairing brickwork above the outhouse door). I'm in the Beighton area.
  2. We just bought a house, and they previous owners left the gardens in a very unmowed state. We're looking for someone to pop round and mow the lawns soonish, front and back (must have own mower, we don't have one yet). Any recommendations for cheap and reliable gardeners or odd-job people who might be able to make this happen?
  3. Looking for someone to fit a heated towel rail in our bathroom. There's already a heated towel rail, but looking to upgrade the size. Also the one that's there doesn't actually heat up enough to warm the bathroom. We'd be buying the rail, just need someone to install it and make it work! Let me know if anyone can help, or has any recommendations.
  4. I'm sure there used to be a megathread for this, but I can't find it for the life of me! Does anyone have any recommendations for professional cleaners? It's for a one-off clean in a 3-4 bed house for a picky landlord. Also an idea of price would be amazing, if that's possible. This is for a house in Staveley (technically Chesterfield I guess?). Thanks in advance! Edit: thanks to whoever moved my post into this thread!
  5. Thank you! Good to know what the unpopular colours are as well, my other half specifically wants an "old, ugly cat"
  6. Hi. I'm thinking of adopting a cat from a cat shelter in the next few months. Does anyone have any recommendations for which Sheffield cat shelters are good to adopt from, and which to avoid? Thanks in advance! Edit: I would prefer a middle-aged to older cat (not a kitten), indoor cats are fine, and cats that come in pairs for whatever reason are also fine! Just in case that changes the answers.
  7. Not after a recommendation, but do regular roofers also do garages/sheds/outhouses etc?
  8. That makes sense, thanks! I was thinking 2 or 3 hours would be what I was after, the travelling thing didn't occur to me. Cheers!
  9. Hi everyone - not after a recommendation per se, but of those of you who use/are cleaners, roughly what kind of cost would I be looking at for 1 hour of cleaning?
  10. So I'm buying a house in the Beighton area, and the kitchen/living room is open plan, which I'm not a massive fan of. There's obviously a 'border' of wall around where a wall used to be, with bricks put in as a kind of arch thing. How much would it be to take out the bricks and build a stud wall? Any recommendations for the work? Thanks in advance!
