  1. I won't say that it's tiny - but I do agree that if it's free or not, won't change things much. Very much correct there - high rental costs are a key element of the demise of the High Street.
  2. I wonder what they will think of to do next!
  3. I have been having for long the same idea. However, the question is, who will fund such a place - because it will need a lot of money to be run properly.
  4. This is a quick reminder for all those wanting to Stop Smoking but need an extra push to give it up once and for all. If you are that person you can join the study at Sheffield Hallam University which is exploring the physiological effects of e-cigarettes as a stop smoking aid in comparison to the commonly prescribed nicotine replacement therapy. This is totally free: You will receive one-to-one advice (at your own convenience) and support throughout your quit attempt and either e-cigarette supplies for 3 months or £30 in the form of a 3-month NHS prescription certificate (depending on group allocation). If you would like to be smoke free in 2019 and would like further information please contact Dr Gareth Jones on 0114 225 4312 or via e-mail at: [email protected]. The study eligibility questionnaire can be found here: https://shusls.eu.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_4ZoAgmvtahE8mRT&fbclid=IwAR2BAdWtVL9C6ZOsB0yD7h_wq9VMCoDq-2ftxc7DorZhrbYZyPiAU4FhGgM
  5. Really disappointed. Meadowhall should probably have a system to monitor food and drinks' outlets as it does affect its reputation, irrespective as of whether local councils have their own systems or not.
  6. This is a message for all those thinking of stopping smoking as one of their New Year's resolutions. Sheffield Hallam University is undertaking an ethically-approved study, funded by Heart Research UK that will explore the effects of e-cigarettes on the arteries and small veins in people making a stop-smoking attempt. All participants will be randomly allocated to one of the three study groups. In one group, participants will receive free nicotine-rich e-cigarettes and refills for a 3-month period as well as advice on how to successfully stop smoking. In another group, participants will receive similar advice as well as complimentary, nicotine-free e-cigarettes and refills for a 3-month period. Finally, one group of participants will be referred to the NHS stop smoking services and will be reimbursed by the research team for their stop smoking prescription expenses. If you wish to quit smoking and live in and around Sheffield, please get in touch. For more info, please visit our website: https://ecig2017.wordpress.com/ Still interested? 7. October is the official UK's stop smoking month. We at Sheffield Hallam University are supporting this with our stop smoking study - up to now we have been very successful and we have helped more than 100 people to kick the habit in the last year or so. Taking part doesn't cost anything. Participants receive expert advice in addition to e-cigarette supplies for three months or a 3-month NHS prescription certificate (or £30 in Love2Shop vouchers if prescriptions are not payable). For more information please contact us at [email protected] We would also like to hear your successful stop smoking stories - if you have stopped yourselves. What worked for you? What didn't? Thanks for reading!
  8. I don't think that "urgent" goes well with the need of "£5.4 million of works"...
  9. Hello Michael. Thanks - Please have a read-through of the study information on the website, if you haven't done so already, and one of my colleagues will give you a ring tomorrow.
  10. Hello to everyone - I do hope that this thread is acceptable, if not I apologise. It is about a new study aiming to all those who wish to stop smoking - and get something back in return (apart from a health improvement). Further information follows - I will also be following the thread as well, to respond to any questions that people might have. "Are you a current smoker who wishes to stop smoking? Would you be interested in being supported in your stop smoking attempt by an experienced advisor and use either e-cigarettes or the NHS stop smoking services? Then contact us!
