  6. HI I manage a project for men over 50 called sporting chance, I am constantly looking for activities and events that I can promote or be involved in. My remit is to deliver session in the north of Sheffield, predominantly Shiregreen and Burngreave. I love the sound of what you have created here and would be interested to find out if anyone would be interested in creating one of these groups in shiregreen or Burngreave. If it is appropriate I will be more than willing to support the group in Shiregreen/Burngreave from an admin and advertisement point of view and do have some capacity to assist financially with venue and instructor costs if needed. if someone would like to pick this idea up and run with it then please get in touch and we can see what we can do. Thanks

  10. HI All, I am just enquiring to gauge the level of interest in a gardening/ green space renovation project that I may have coming up. I am looking for blokes over 50 to manage and take part in the project, purely based on how the funding works. Just to clarify I am looking to volunteers or anybody who may be interested in a community project. Thanks
  11. new sport group for men 50+ starting this week at Concord sports centre, FREE! (voluntary contributions welcomed) Session starts at 2:30 and will run for one hour. Suitable for all abilities
  12. HI All, we do not consider 50+ to be old, in fact we do not consider any age to be old. We believe that age is relative to how you feel. We are a charitable organisation (not council funded) who are trying to provide opportunities for people to become more engaged in activities that promote health and wellbeing and develop friendships. we hope this is something everyone can support. Furthermore, we believe that this session will be applicable to all levels of fitness as their will be some element of competition involved. We encourage all to attend and see what its all about. No obligation. Please follow the link below to see how our project runs in Middlesbrough, we are trying to replicate this in Sheffield... https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=sporting+chance+middlesborough&&view=detail&mid=FEE5460DBD76B7D0DAA9FEE5460DBD76B7D0DAA9&FORM=VRDGAR Regards, Jamie Crowther

  14. HI ALL, I am looking to gather a range of images of what Sheffield was like throughout history. I am particularly interested in pictures of the Shiregreen and Firth Park area. If you have anything that may be of interest and could spark a discussion that would be great. the images are to be used as a conversation starter at a men's over 50's games afternoon at Stubbin community center. If you have any images on the computer and would be willing to send them across that would be great. However, we are more than happy for you to come along and show us what you have. The sessions are every Tuesday 13:00 - 15:00 at stubbin community, 45 Fairthorne road, S5. That being said if there are any other blokes who would like to come and reminisce about the 'good old days' as one of our guys puts it then you are more than welcome. Thanks, Vmatters
