  1. Ok, thanks. Yeah, sorry about that. It's just that the topic about this came up again today and I'd forgotten that I'd already made a thread on it
  2. Hi all As the thread title states, is it possible to downgrade a Win10 laptop to Win 7 using a CD? And would I be able to do this on a laptop that had been upgraded as well as one that came with Win10? Also, is it just a case of buying a Win 7 CD and popping it into the laptop? I've checked the likes of eBay and they're going for a few pounds. Is that right? I thought the OS would be in the range of about £60 or more. Thanks.
  3. I can't seem to find anything on the topic. Shocking really. I thought it was a pretty important question. Thanks.
  4. I thought Moderators are supposed to be impartial, Jeffrey? Your previous posts on the Israeli/Arab issue shows you're more inclined to one side rather than none. Disappointed.
  5. Agree that Kaspersky shouldn't be used. I had it free from Barclays for a few years but recently they advised against it (in light of it being rather risky for the user shall we say). Afterall, it *is* Russian.
  6. Thanks Mike, but sadly it's still not working.
  7. Really appreciate the responses. And the reason I want to downgrade is because my touchpad isn't working. It's all to do with the Smart Gesture application. I've re-installed the latest version from the Asus websie (s well as the latest ATK driver), and it's still not working. I selected all the right options i.e. Windows 10 64 bit version etc... and still nothing. I don't think I've got any another option left
  8. I did a factory reset not too long ago and there was no option of going back to Win7. If there was, sadly it didn't happen. Will any Win7 disc with any activation key work? - Whether an original or copy? Thanks. I'll have a try with that.
  9. Thanks guys. And it has a Win10 sticker on it but no mention of a key. It's an Asus X553M laptop btw. And when I looked into one of the settings options, it said something about reverting back to Win7. To be precise it was control panel > system and security > back up and restore (Windows 7). Does that mean the laptop originally was a Win7 one even though there's no sticker to suggest it was?
  10. The laptop I've got has been upgraded to Win10. I don't know what version of Win7 it had on before. What would the next step be? The laptop's been upgraded from Win 7/8 to Win10.
  11. Hi all I want to downgrade a Win8 and/or Win10 laptop to Win7. The question is, if I buy a Win7 CD from eBay, will it work? Or does the CD have to be specific for a certain laptop? Thanks.
  12. Muslims: damned even if they try to integrate. They can't win. The bigots are just scum.
  13. Hi all. Got an appointment in a few days time for the dentist to look at my old crown. At the moment there's a bit of a gap between the two front teeth (the other tooth being the crown). If the dentist replaces it, will it be done in such a way that it closes that gap? Or will he just realign the current crown to make it touch the other one? - There's slight pain at the moment due to it having moved over the years, hence the formation of the gap. I went to see him about 6 weeks ago and after taking an X-ray a week before, he said it was fine and just prescribed me some tablets which didn't work. He thought it was an infection of some sort. I also had a filling done at the time which was really neither here nor there. The thing is, since I paid for that particular treatment, will I have to do so again, in full, for a new crown? - Or will he minus the cost that I'd already paid about 6 weeks ago? Thanks. ---------- Post added 15-11-2017 at 18:30 ---------- Hi again. Went to dentist today and from the X-ray he took last week, he said there's no major issue with the tooth underneath the crown. He said he didn't really want to mess with it (the crown) and to just live with the mild pain. Was he right in saying that?
  14. If the reception feel they can't give any info and I ask the dentist, for example, if he could either replace or adjust a crown tooth, will there be a charge? I won't even sit in the chair. All this will be done by just standing next to him.
  15. Hi all Just a quick question as per the thread title. The only way I can speak to my (NHS) dentist is if I make an appointment. Once I'm there, if I ask for some advice about procedures and costs, will I be charged for that? Thanks.
  16. Yes, but what if the retailer says you can still deposit them in the bank, so you're just going to have to accept them. Will I be within my rights to insist on having new ones in exchange?
  17. Hi all I know from the 15th of October they won't be accepted by retailers, but what if after that date, they give you that in change? Will the customer be within their right to refuse them and ask for the new ones instead? Thanks.
  18. So all those in favour of gender-fluidity, would you have any objections re. males using female changing rooms/showers and vice-versa? Or mixed wards to the majority but to the gender-fluid individual, it would seem same-gender? Somehow I don't think this nonsense will take off.
  19. Hi As the thread title states, would it be safe to take those 2 medicines together? - Metronidazole has been prescribed by the dentist, and as we know, Ibuprofen is available over the counter. Thanks.
  20. Hi folks (again). Went to dentist yesterday and the X-ray he took last week came back without any problems. I asked him about the slight pain under the crown/cap and all he did was to give me a prescription to sort it out. As mentioned earlier in this thread, I think it's just too much work for him to re-align the crown to where it was originally. The sad thing is, it was him that that did it in the first place. Do you think I was fobbed off? ---------- Post added 23-09-2017 at 15:42 ---------- A quick question: If the dentist refuses to re-align or do a new crown, would I have any rights to complain to the NHS?
  21. Hi guys. Just a bit of an update. Went back to A&E today and they took an X-ray of the damaged elbow. Thankfully it's not broken and just advised me to keep taking painkillers and try not to exert too much pressure on it. Just enough to keep the blood flowing to prevent stiffness etc.. And it took about 3 and a half hours to sort it all out. Damn! - talk about sitting on your backside, fiddling your thumbs for 3 of those hours...
  22. Thanks for the further responses. And yes, I'll be patient (no pun intended) and see what happens. I just hope driving to work tomorrow won't be too painful. I'll see if I can keep this thread updated.
  23. The swollen area is the actual bone. And it feels just the same as before, only with pain. ---------- Post added 10-09-2017 at 20:30 ---------- Yep, will do as the Doc said. And re. A&E itself, it was the first time in my life I went there. I thought the waiting time would be about 4 hours; shocked to be seen with 10-15 mins. Wonder when I go next time, then it'll be that long (3-4 hours). Maybe it was a fluke today. Oh, and I thought he'd take an X-ray but he didn't. Was that odd?
  24. Got hit accidently on my elbow bone yesterday and it's swollen. I'm not sure if it's broken or just bruised. The only pain I feel is when I try to raise my arm when palms are facing up. Went to A&E and he said it's probably bursitis. I think he may have been mistaken since that usually occurs at the tip of the elbow. All he said was to apply ice, elevate whenever I can, and to take Ibuprofen. Do you think I should go back? - I know it's going to be embarrassing. Twice in one day. So is it a bone fracture or bone bruise? Thanks.
  25. What's that hypocrite Aung Sang Kui saying about all this? Take that Nobel Prize from her. I'm sure we don't let sickos like her keep it. Her silence speaks volumes.
