  1. No. They prefer to leave bombs in public places and run away. How is that any 'less' evil than someone belted with explosives?
  2. Hi all. I'm kinda confused re. sentences. For example, someone received a 5-year sentence back in September 2016 and apparently they've been released in the last few weeks. I thought you only do half of what you're given, and in the above case, 2.5 years from Sep. 2016 would take us to March. 2019. How come they've been released much sooner? Thanks.
  3. Religion's maintained it's appeal because atheism offers absolutely nothing spiritually.
  4. The only thing I can do is press the power button and hold down the volume key for a few seconds and then it goes into download mode. I've tried flashing stock ROMS to the tablet but it keeps failing. And thanks for the rest of the responses.
  5. It doesn't boot up past the Samsung logo. I took it to a few repair shops and they couldn't do anything about it. I know phones/tablets get either soft or hard bricked, and the guys at the shop think its the latter. But can corrupt ROMS or software really cause the device to be hard-bricked? How can software somehow damage the hardware? Thanks.
  6. Looks like there's quite a few Islamophobes who've cast their votes here. Chill out will 'ya? - The 'Moozlims' ain't gonna bite you. The vast majority of them are law-abiding and peaceful. You've got more chance of getting knocked down by a bus than being attacked by a person of that Faith.
  7. Hi all. I've got an old metal tin-cutter to get rid of. Would I be right in saying it doesn't belong in either the household or recycling bin? Thanks.
  8. A bit of an update. I just went back to the factory version of YouTube and the problem's resolved itself. I'm going to think twice about updating that particular app in the future. Causes more problems than it solves. EDIT: I thought I'd update the app again and for some odd reason, that's also fixed the issue.
  9. Sorry if I wasn't clear in my OP What I mean is, if I watch one vid, then choose another from the right-hand side, where new and recommended ones are, then decide to go back to the first vid, I end up going on my YouTube homepage. The 2nd vid will be minimised but I'll have a bunch of new and old ones on the homepage. It's like you watching about 4 or 5 vids consecutively and then if you wanted to go back to the 1st one, you'd normally press the back button a few times until you got to that particular vid. What's happening at the moment is what's described above. Hope that's made it slightly clearer.
  10. Hi all. Not sure what's recently happened but everytime I want to go back to watching the last vid, I end going onto my main home page. There were no issues not too long ago. I've updated the app but I doubt if that's the cause. Is there any way I can go back to the last vid without having to go into my history? Thanks.
  11. As most of us have heard, new MOT regulations came into effect in the last day or so. The reason being we're still in EU and that's where the new laws have come from. Since we're leaving the Union by March next year, does that mean we're just going to revert back to our old MOT check-list? Thanks.
  12. Thanks for the info, Poppet. ---------- Post added 19-05-2018 at 20:12 ---------- Seller responded by saying I have to pay for returns postage; that I should have read the description before purchasing the item. The thing is, I certainly did. Basically the item is a case cover for a Lenovo Tab 4 10. That's exactly what he's advertised it as. When I got the item, I found it impossible to put the tablet in it. In short, the case was too small. He responded by saying it's a universal case and that the tablet should fit. Obviously it's not really rocket science to see that *that* wasn't the case (no pun intended). I'm just waiting for another message from him and then I'll pass everything onto eBay. I've already started to get in touch with them and they said they'll step in after a few days if there's no joy.
  13. He says as long as you return the item with the original packaging, then it'll be free. ---------- Post added 18-05-2018 at 18:17 ---------- Very true. I was just going to put it through the pillar box, but then thought twice about it.
  14. Thanks guys. I've sent the seller a message stating what happened, and if there's any issues re. the returns, I'll get in touch with eBay.
  15. Hi all. Received something from ebay and I'm trying to return a parcel back to the seller. He said to cross out my name and address, and then to put his details in that place, saying 'return to sender'. Done that, took it to post office, and they said they need a pre-paid return label on it. I said seller's willing to pay for returns postage and he said sorry, it's not going to go anywhere. Is that right? Thanks.
  16. Apparently I took it to a few repair shops and they said the motherboard is at fault. But if it's a software issue, how can it be a hardware problem?
  17. I've just recently purchased a Lenovo Tab 4 10.1" tablet and it seems pretty good. It was only about £130 brand new. And it's got a 1.4 ghz processor and 2 gb ram; perfectly ideal for typical tasks like browsing and watching vids.
  18. Hi all I take it fairly new cars (and new ones) don't have this feature anymore. So how would you charge your phone if there's no cigarette lighter port? Thanks.
  19. Battery is about 80% charged. And there's no option for me to factory reset. If I hold down the power button and volume down key, it gives me 2 choices; either to restart the tablet or go into Odin mode. The latter just seems to be stuck in a download loop of some sort. I think the final thing I can do would be to actually physically take the battery out of the device for about an hour or so, then put it back in. If that doesn't work, then it's just shocking there's no more options left.
  20. Thanks guys. And I managed to switch it on. There was a loose cable for the power and volume buttons that wasn't plugged in properly. Nevertheless I still can't get past that Samsung logo when it starts up. I did remove all the cables attaching the battery for a few minutes and thought that *that* would somehow reset everything. Anything else I can do?
  21. Hi all. I was having some issues with my tablet; apparently everytime I restarted it, it wouldn't go past the Samsung logo. In the end I decided to disconnect the battery by gently removing the tiny cable in that area of the tablet. The following pic will help: https://goo.gl/images/iN8foC The thing is, after re-connecting that same cable after a few minutes, the device isn't switching on at all. I know there's enough power in the battery because when I plug in the charger, the blue bar comes on showing literally a full charge. Is there anything else I can do? Thanks in advance.
  22. I've just been listening to his old shows from 2001 to about 2010 and he seems to be a different bloke compared to his current Radio X show. I know he's older now but surely you can't change that much? His old Radio 1 shows were more lively compared to the one now. I can only listen to him and the team for about half an hour before I give up. The old shows I could probably be there 'till the end. I'm roughly the same age as Moyles and I wish he'd go back to the way he was. Maybe get more listeners in the process? What do you think?
  23. Hi all. I've got a fairly old Freecom external CD-RW drive but it's not being detected by a Chromebook. The following gives the exact spec. of the external drive: https://www.cnet.com/products/freecom-fx-1-cd-rw-drive-hi-speed-usb-series/specs/ And re. system requirements, it says: The odd thing is, it works with a Win 7 laptop; a newer OS than the above. But I appreciate Chromecast has a different OS to Windows. Is that where the problem is, do you think? Thanks in advance.
  24. Hi all. Apparently the doctors told us it's too risky to do a heart operation re. a heart attack. The heart itself is too weak and the patient (elderly female, mid 60s) also has heart failure. They said the only alternative would be medicines as well as a healthy lifestyle to prevent another heart attack. The patient also has type 2 diabetes. The question is, the doctors told the patient not to drink liquid like Lucozade but the diabetes nurse said it's fine if her blood sugar levels started to cause problems. It seems there's a lot of non-communication between nurses and doctors from different departments. So is Lucozade really not recommended for someone who recently suffered a heart attack and who's also type 2 diabetic? Thanks.
  25. Thanks guys. And from your responses, I think I'll probably be sticking with the current OS.
