  1. Does anyone remember the Bowshaw hotel in Dronfield holding Highland games fun days in the 1970's, any photo's would be much appreciated.
  2. you once asked on a Ten town thread if anyone knew your dad Roy, I knew both Roy and your uncle Keith, infact I knew all the family, contact me if you want.
  3. If memory serves me right there are three tunnels under Woodhead and one of them was virtually new when they closed the line down, so if they can get the funding it shouldn't take too many years to get it up and running again.
  4. I think it was Off Howard Street either on Arundel Street or Eyre Lane but its more likely to be Arundel Street
  5. I started working at the Dairy in 1972 as a driver, the Distribution manager was Arthur Whitehouse, is foremen were Jack Burkinshaw, Jack Spencer and Eric Knowles, I also remember all the other names mentioned in this thread, I also remember Arthur talking about yourself (Arthur Bell), when Arthur retired Eric Knowles became the Distribution Manager, and consequently when he retired I became the Distribution Manager, I was also the Distribution manager for Wakefield and Bradford at that time, Frank Mathews was the Transport Director, Tom Martin was the transport manager looking after the vehicles, and I reported to Doug Brown who was the regional Distribution Manager. Northern Dairies took over in 1985 and changed things to work under their system, eventually closing Broadfield Road altogether.
