  1. I don't think any TV manufacturer will be interested in monitoring or spying on what content is viewed via the smart television in our household.
  2. With the BBC IPlayer and their BBC website they are offering a much better service than they did 20 years ago. I don't begrudge paying the TV licence but I don't subscribe to SKY or any other pay channels.
  3. Our big 20 year old analogue television died earlier this year and was replaced with a new big screen smart television. It's good not to have to use a set top box to convert the signal to digital anymore. Access to all the free services via the internet makes teletext redundant. It makes sense for the BBC to concentrate on services via the internet which more people are using nowadays due to modern televisions.
  4. It makes sense for BBC to switch teletext off because it is old technology which can only have a very small number of users nowadays.
  5. To be fair to Corbyn, I thought he stated to Andrew Marr, if a new deal passed the so called 'five Labour tests' then he would support leaving the EU in a future referendum in the unlikely event Labour win the next General Election.
  6. The problem for the hotel owners is that Thomas Cook pay their bill for accommodation about two months after the holidaymakers have stayed in hotels. This means Thomas Cook still owe huge sums of money from the peak holiday season while they have a cash flow problem which isn't going to improve. Holidaymakers are protected if Thomas Cook goes bust but hotel owners and other businesses are not protected.
  7. Because their customers are protected by ATOL. The downfall of a normal private business doesn't end up with British people being stranded in a foreign country.
  8. I am missing your point. Do you think it is normal for a man to marry a women old enough to be his grandma?
  9. The point is our Government didn't seek to embarrass Donald Trump by exposing him to the protesters with baby Trump balloons.
  10. Well done to Bettel if the people of little Luxembourg support him. But as retep's post shows Bettel hasn't received support on the world stage for his discourteous behaviour. Our country's Prime Minister is considered to be a normal person on the world stage unlike the president of France who is married to someone who is old enough to be his grandma.
  11. I only decided to come back before 31st October because I support honest fair play. Too many Pro Leave supporters who use to post on the Sheffield Forum have either been banned or lost the will to live and decided to refrain from posting due to the anti democratic rhetoric which is allowed to dominate the Sheffield Forum. Leave means Leave is what should have happened on 29th March, but our Parliament unfortunately have backslided. You continue to embarrass yourself by mentioning Tommy Robinson because the vast majority of leave voters will have never heard of him when they went to the polling station on 23rd June 2016 and chose which box to place a tick in on the ballot paper.
  12. To use one word, YES. You continue to be an embarrassment to your own country by supporting foreign countries at every opportunity.
  13. You would lose your bet. Our country regardless of who is Prime Minister will continue to respect foreign leaders who visit our country. The Luxembourg Prime Minister is an embarrassment to his own country.
  14. Boris offered to do a joint press conference in side but the Luxembourg Prime Minister refused. The UK wouldn't play a cheap stunt like Luxembourg did on a foreign leader.
  15. Half million of them were not allowed to vote. The media have stated the crowd in Luxembourg made too much noise for the joint press conference to take place where the Luxembourg Prime Minister ranted yesterday. It was a cheap stunt and Boris was correct by refusing to take part.
  16. The people of Luxembourg were not allowed to vote in the EU referendum.
  17. Luxembourg has a population of about half a million people Why should our Prime Minister waste time taking part in press conference with a leader of such a small country? It's ludicrous such a small country has an equal vote to the bigger EU nations and can veto EU legislation. It's like Doncaster being allowed to veto UK legislation when the rest of the UK supports UK legislation.
  18. Because the democratic people of the UK voted to leave the EU on 23rd June 2016. It was well documented before the referendum vote that if ever the UK wish to re-join the EU the terms are most likely to be less favourable than the still current terms.
  19. Don't be ridiculous. Sir Geoffrey Boycott has stated the fact the court proceedings were in France and that he doesn't speak French hindered his defence. I think as a reasonable person he has a valid point. Also as a reasonable person I don't think he helped himself by trying to conduct his own defence in a foreign country. I think Sir Geoffrey Boycott deserves the benefit of the doubt given the time that has passed since the conviction and he hasn't had any further brushes with the law since. Also the fact the alleged victim only received one franc in damages is very strange because I think she deserved much more than that if her story of events is true.
  20. I can't recall UK Judges making comments about court cases they were involved in to Newspapers, which is what the Lady French Judge has done this week about the Sir Geoffrey Boycott case. Any sensible UK person falsely accused of a crime would rather seek justice in a British court than a foreign court.
  21. He does seem to have an unhealthy fixation about Sir Geoffrey Boycott. Perhaps Top Cats Hat has an inferiority complex because he's never been any good at cricket.
  22. The tons of evidence you cite are one person's word against another regarding the injuries which the lady suffered. The proceedings took place in a foreign court. I hope you have never been part of a jury or are ever asked to be part of a jury in the future.
  23. The legal lady on the panel did point out that Sir Geoffrey Boycott maintains he his not guilty of the crime he was found guilty of in France.
  24. You're correct they expected a massive defeat but unfortunate for the Labour Party they did much better than expected and are still stuck with Corbyn. I will remind you the Labour Party came second in the 2017 General Election. Normally when either the Labour Party or the Tory Party come second in a General Election, it is judged as a defeat.
