  1. My comment should be easy enough for you to understand unlike your post in reply. Parliament had a chance to call for a vote of no confidence in the Government last week which they didn't take. The MPs had a chance to hold a General Election which they didn't take. The majority of MPs were only interesting in tying the hands of Boris to make it more difficult to get a new deal with the EU and to rule out a no-deal in order to stop our country leaving the EU on 31st October. At the moment there is no point in Parliament sitting and there won't be until after the EU summit in October when there might be a new deal negotiated with the EU for them to debate.
  2. And last week there were court rulings that the suspension of Parliament is lawful. It's beginning to look the same as the democratic 2016 EU referendum where those not happy with the original result want it changed.
  3. Sir Geoffrey Boycott is only guilty of not being politically correct which doesn't make him a disliker of women. If as you suggest Sir Geoffrey Boycott doesn't like non white people, then I doubt very much he would have had such a long innings in the commentary box travelling overseas and enjoying the company of non white people.
  4. You're embarrassing yourself. Having an open mind doesn't make any poster on this thread a disliker of women. If the conviction had been recent and happened in a British court then the controversy would be justified. What makes you believe Sir Geoffrey Boycott dislikes women?
  5. Sir Geoffrey Boycott was sacked from a number of his jobs at the time of the convictions in France. He didn't help his defence by not turning up for the first trial and trying to conduct his own defence in the second trial in a foreign country when he didn't speak their lingo . The French court awarded the alleged victim one franc in damages. Sir Geoffrey Boycott deserves to be given the benefit of the doubt.
  6. That's exactly correct. However the democratic 2016 EU Referendum result would have been implemented immediately if Remain had won. David Cameron should have triggered Article 50 on the morning of 24th June 2016 to get things moving faster before he resigned.
  7. The poster is just putting the other side to a story that happened nearly 25 years ago. None of us know the real truth. Theresa May obviously likes Geoffrey Boycott and likes cricket because she chose two cricketers to award Knighthoods to. The now Sir Geoffrey Boycott's day should not have been spoilt by all this faux controversy which happened all those years ago. The bigger issue is should retiring Prime Ministers be allowed to give out honours when they leave office? If Theresa May's hero had a faster run scoring rate she might have managed to implement the democratic 2016 EU referendum result during her time at the crease.
  8. If the DUP accept a change to the Backstop then it is very likely to get through Parliament. The twenty one Tory MPs who lost the whip will support the deal. Amber Rudd will support it and enough Labour MPs are likely to support it. It's in a lot of Labour MPs interest to have Brexit implemented before the General Election. The ERG are not my friends, but I support their right to vote against a deal if they believe a no-deal is better for our country.
  9. Exactly. It's confusing to have a policy to negotiate a new deal and then to have a referendum in which they support remaining in the EU.
  10. Boris is trying to negotiate a deal with the EU and is having a private meeting with the DUP to discover what changes to the Withdrawal Agreement involving the Backstop are acceptable to them. Boris is doing the sensible thing by meeting with the DUP during this stage of the negotiations to get a deal with the EU. Irish politics are changing very fast and you embarrass yourself by keep using Irish history to justify the non implementation of the 2016 democratic EU referendum result.. An alliance candidate won a seat in the European Parliament in the recent European Elections. The consensus is the majority of people in Northern Ireland would accept a potential Backstop for just Northern Ireland.
  11. The Tory led Government have negotiated an exit deal with the EU, but Parliament have voted against the Withdrawal Agreement three times. How have the current Tory led Government thrown the DUP to the wolves when they are in talks with the DUP in Downing Street at the moment?
  12. Of course I am not suggesting that people should always vote the same way and never change. I am stated the issue of implementing Brexit after the democratic people voted in the 2016 EU referendum should not be a reason that traditional Labour voters choose another party to vote for in a General Election. The Labour Party supported holding the 2016 EU referendum vote and supported triggering Article 50 after the result of the EU referendum and had a manifesto during the 2017 General Election campaign to implement the EU referendum result. The Labour Party have practised backsliding and ignored the wishes of regular Labour voters who voted to leave the EU. You should refrain from commenting about John Mann because you continue to embarrass yourself by doing so.
  13. You're embarrassing yourself by implying John Mann is a vile creature. I won't waste time by highlighting the important issues which John Mann has got involved in during his time as a MP. Your judgement is flawed and bias. The job of the opposition party is to both challenge and support the ruling party regarding different issues where necessary. The people were asked to decide the single issue regarding our country's membership of the EU and the job of Parliament was to implement the result. Traditional Labour voters who voted to leave the EU shouldn't have to consider voting for another party at the next General Election because the party they normally support no longer support the implementation of the democratic 2016 EU referendum vote.
  14. John Mann is still a Labour MP. Fox hunting has nothing to do with Brexit. The difference is a referendum is a vote about one single issue while a General Election is about numerous issues.
  15. No, I absolutely haven't said that. I have clearly stated MPs on the third time the Withdrawal Agreement was offered to Parliament from all parties should have supported the deal if they thought that was better for our country than a no-deal. I support MPs who voted against the deal if they thought a no-deal was better for our country. I don't support any MP who voted against the Withdrawal Agreement with the aim to block the implementation of the democratic 2016 EU referendum result. I've listened to quite a few of the debates during the last week in Parliament and heard Tory MPs who like me voted for remaning in the EU but respect the democratic EU referendum result and support leaving no-deal on the table. I've heard former Labour MPs who are now Independent say similar things. It seems that the only decent Labour MPs such as John Mann and Kate Hoey who respect democracy are standing down at the next General Elections and the other former decent Labour MPs have already left the party. I don't include the likes of Chuka Umunna as decent former Labour MPs.
  16. I am stating to rule our a no-deal is effectively the same as our country remaining in the EU which is against the wishes of the democratic people who voted in the 2016 EU Referendum. Votes to block Brexit should not be allowed.
  17. We all know how Parliament works and I don't need a history lesson. I stand by my point that the reason Theresa May's and Sir Oliver Robbins deal with the EU didn't get through Parliament on the third time of asking was because the vast majority of Labour MPs behaved dishonestly and didn't respect the democratic wishes of the people who voted to leave the EU as they promised in their 2017 General Election manifesto. It that the best you can do? Shame on you for cherry picking small bits of comments to take a post out of context when quoting other members.
  18. Allowing votes to take place in Parliament to attempt to rule out a no-deal, which is the legal default position as a consequence of the MPs overwhelmingly voting in favour to trigger Article 50 is one reason he deserves blame.
  19. There are Labour MPs who would have voted in support of Theresa May's and Sir Oliver Robbins deal with the EU rather than see our country leave the EU without a deal which is the legal default position. Honest MPs voted for the deal if they genuinely thought that was a better option than leaving the EU without a deal. The Labour Party campaigned during the 2017 General Election with a manifesto stating they would implement the EU referendum result. The majority of Labour MPs have behaved dishonestly during the Withdrawal Agreement votes unlike nearly all the Tory MPs who voted for honest reasons rather than with the aim of blocking Brexit. Anna Soubry was one of the few dishonest Tory MPs when those votes took place. The soon to be retired Speaker also deserves blame for preventing the democratic 2016 EU referendum vote from still not being implemented.
  20. The Tories didn't have a majority because the DUP didn't support the deal and it needed a few dozen Labour MPs to get the bill through Parliament. I think only 5 Labour MPs supported the Withdrawal Agreement. A no-deal is the legal default position and members of the ERG were entitled to vote against the agreement if they preferred the no-deal option to the Withdrawal Agreement that was offered. Members of the ERG haven't attempted to block a no-deal unlike other MPs who voted against the Withdrawal Agreement that was offered. How many times are you going to repeat such nonsense? The result will not be implemented until the day the UK actually leave the EU which was suppose to have happened on 29th March and still hasn't happened
  21. It was the Labour Party who prevented Theresa May's and Sir Oliver Robbins deal with the EU going through Parliament on the third time of asking. The majority of the Tory Party compromised while the majority of the Labour Party didn't compromise for mainly political reasons and support the deal. The losers of the democratic EU referendum need to accept the result and it needs to implemented for peace to be restored in our country.
  22. The anger has been caused because too many MPs still want our country to remain in the EU and they are not representing the democratic people who voted to leave the EU and were on the winning side of the result of the 2016 EU referendum. Do you mean the MPs would work better to block what the Government want to do and support nothing ?
  23. How do you think a different system will work better for our country? The current situation proves that Parliament is a shambles when the ruling party don't have a clear majority. The speaker is suppose to be neutral.
