  1. I started in the chemmy lab at Rutland Road foundry in August 1964. Happy days. I remember Bernard as he was my boss. He also had me acting as projectionist in the training room at Butts across the road showing entertainment for apprentices. Bernards deputy was Malcolm Padley. Others were Daver Brooks, Malc Burley, ?Jackson, Roger Peace, Brian Harlow the folk singer. Pete Fisher
  2. Malin bridge ground was Samuel Osborn's until they closed around 1970. I played for them from 1965 for 4 years in County Senior league. Gas board bought it later. Club house now been demolished and Lidl trying for planning permission. Pete Fisher
  3. Hi Keith (Whitey), Happy memories, Other names were Les May and his brother, Vinny Lax, Chuck? and Dave Morris. I believe Pheno and Dave Morris passed away very young. It was good to see me with hair. The blond locks disappeared some time ago. Dont suppose you have a copy of the pic when we got the ice blue strip? Slotter was asking and I cant find mine. I managed to keep going at Yorkshire league and county senior plus Sheffield and District Sunday league until my mid 40s with various teams. Pete Fisher (Fish)
  4. I had one and probably around somewhere. I will have a rummage and let you know. Pete
  5. This strip arrived around 1963/64 courtesy of the new manager Joe Lewis and his son Mick. Original strip was dark blue body and white sleeves if memory serves me correctly. Who is thecliffe ? Pete Fisher
  6. I was best mates with Eric until they moved away about 1958. John O'H lives at Harthill near Worksop. Did u go to the bonfires on their back garden? They had one every year after the garages were built behind our house. Ann Briggs had to get married and my sex education from my Mum consisted of dont you do anything like Anne did!! Very helpful. John went to Canada about 1968 and he is still there. He is on the did you play for Club 62 thread as JoeBloggs247.Club 62 were the best under8 side in Sheffield in the early 60s. Pete Carr is there as Slotter.
  7. Hi Mick, I am Pete Fisher, lived at No 30. We were opposite the O'Hs. You must have lived in the Tunnards house. Sorry I dont remember your name. We moved in in 1950 and I lived there up to getting married in 1971. I remember all the names except Ken. Was big mates with Vets and John O'HS. Can you remember Eric and Alan Davis? They lived at 49. Their dad built a TV from an oscilloscope tube. All the kids used to pile into there room to watch Ivanhoe etc.
  8. Fish is Pete Fisher. I was Club 62's keeper. lived on the Ballifield. I knew George had died. Brian Shirtcliffe used to taxi me to the airport on my business travels. Many happy hours spent remeniscing about football.
  9. Not Carl but his older brothers, Gud, Woody and Dave. I remember playing in same team as Youngish at Club 62 . Who is St Petre and Alba?
  10. Lived at top of Ballifield Road? Here name was Linda. Remember Harry as he went to live on Manor near my Aunty ; or vice versa not sure which. So what are you called really?
  11. Remember having Sunday afternoon kick abouts on Handsworth rec with the lads when I was in early teens and pre sunday leagues ie early 60s. Remember the Shutts , Tiger, Dave Lakin, Bob Batty, Ron Vickers etc. Pete Fisher
  12. Hi Slotted Pete Fisher here , happy memories playing for they first club Remember pulling crossbar on to my head during warm up once but still played!
  13. Hi Slotter, Joebloggs247 was right about your nickname. I recognise a lot of the names mentioned. I came across Dave (Fess)Parker via business years later and randomly on a flight home from Tenerife a few years ago. Came across the forum trying to find Pam and Stella Roddis to let them and their mum know my little sis Susan had died as they were family friends. As far as I know they never married to answer Bill Bingham's query. Also remember Phil "Yarg" Gray a mate of Trev Spyvey and Tony "Krik" Kirk who married Carol the odest of the 4 Shepherd girls. Believe Shep is stili in Anston I am still in Sheffield but at the other end of town.
