This shop is up for rent, I wondered if anyone could help jog my memory please? I cannot for the life of me remember what this shop was before (either directly before or in recent history....say the last 20 years) I'm thinking of renting it but want to look for reasons why businesses have not prospered in what seems like a prominent location. The shop area is small but that's not a problem to me. I suppose i'm looking for "chain failed" or something that's not applicable to the area or spot itself. I'm not bothered that parking is a problem as the area is what i'm looking to move into and parking is a problem all through Hillsborough really.

Google brings up results that are as clear as mud, thus far - hence me posting in a business forum. Like you, I have been made redundant before - but also like you that was with far less length of service. I just can't get to the bottom of the question - I see people talking of payment in lieu of notice but I don't know if this means if you work that notice you then are done - finito, nothing more. I always thought you got a redundancy payment but now i'm not sure.

I am looking for some guidance. My next choice of action is going to be dictated by the answer to one question. I have worked for my current employer for 13 years. I am fearful of redundancy. If I am made redundant, where I work has history of making people work the whole notice, which I can understand. The question I have is, after working the 12 weeks notice, do I then get an extra payment based on my employment time, or did working that notice negate the need for that payment. The answer to this question really will dictate if I look to jump prior to this happening, as a bit of a payout will mitigate the issues in finding another job quickly - I don't want to act hastily and lose out, but I don't want to wait too long and have opportunities pass me by either, if that makes sense.

Not sure if anyone here will know, but here goes. I'm wanting to get a business certified for cyber essentials and just wondered what the process is? Before I approach a company to do this I gather I need to fill a questionnaire in about certain things on my network but how is this assessed? Do I self certify or do they need evidence and what type? Is the evidence the penetration test after submitting the questionnaire? I am thinking timescale might be prohibitive if I have to build up evidence but I am being told by some suppliers that I now need this. Thanks for anyone with any info!
