Could be a few things depending what sites you want to visit. Check your firewall settings, Update or install java this can be got from HERE. Also it could be the need for flash and shockwave player these can cause web pages not to display or load properly, get that from HERE. Might not be the cause of your problem but worth a try

Was i ripped off/did i get a bargain???
Dardandec replied to Starvinmarv's topic in Computer & Tech Chat
Cheap on eBay doesn't alway's mean it's copied or dodgy. I recently bought some software that normally goes for £40+ for £1.25 and it was genuine Also it can be luck of the draw if nobody else is after that paticular item at that point in time. Hidden auctions are the ones to look out for IE the ones that dont show up in certain searches due to typos etc. I have found some bargains using THIS but not alway's guaranteed to find anything. Worth looking every now and then though -

You can still buy 56k modems in shops, think they are about 8-12 quid. As for the contract just get a pay as you go, Disks can be picked up in supermarkets etc just select pay as you go when installing. Think they work out at about 1-2p per minute off peak. Check your pc first there may already be a modem installed.

Which online security system is the best?
Dardandec replied to LordChaverly's topic in Computer & Tech Chat
Or there could be a slight possibility that 99.9% of virus’s are written for windows based pc's and not linux based, hense linux being more secure -

I alway's build my own systems, and have built them for friends and family too. I have built six sytems to date and have had very limited problems. I prefer this cause I can build it to exactly the spec I want. Most of the information you need to build and set one up is on the net anyway if you search for it, thats how I learnt and am still learning. The down side is the software, this can be quite expensive depending what you install but I only use oem stuff anyway.

I used to hate spiders until I lived in a house a few years ago where they were massive. I just got used to them and can quite happily pick them up and take them outside. That's if you can catch the beggars they can certainly run. I'm pretty sure I am wasting my time though as they probably just find their way back in just don't like killing them never been bit though

In my ebay, at the bottom click on "Help" then on the left click "safety centre" then click on "report another problem" and take it from there. Hope this works for you and good look

Have you not got a setup disk from the isp ? that way you wont need to remove your dial up connection just set the broadband one to default.

That'll be a wireless router. lets you connect other pc's/laptops to the same internet connection. Before you buy a laptop in the high street have a look on the dell website.
