  1. House Train is coming into the platform this Saturday. Hope to see some people there. We need to make it a good night so it goes monthly.
  2. Hi everyone. I am Corey and I am putting on a debut night on the 1st September at the Station Pub in Kiveton Park opposite the train station. The night will consist of an evening of vocal, uplifting house music. Nothing too heavy just quality House music. Everyone is welcome and I would like the word spread around the local area. I hope to see some of you there and hope you enjoy the night. If it's a success then the owner is going to make it a regular monthly event hosted by myself. Thanks again.
  3. I think that if you look at the general quality and quantity of "Different" produce on offer, most people would pay a little over the odds for something you would not readily get in Asda or Tesco's. You say "Too expensive" but have you seen the prices of "Taste the difference" and "Organic" food lines out on the shelves and in the fridges of every supermarket chain out there. We never had all this supposedly "Better for you food" when I was growing up and it never did me any harm either. 37 years later and I am still in good health without the help of every health guro telling what I can and can't eat. You have to admit it though, they do have some damn fine foods on the stalls though.
  4. The thing is that fuel prices were lower then than they are now and we had protests. So whats keeping them in check now. We were talking about it the other morning in the garage after filling up. What is it about this government that keeps squeezing every last bit of our wages out of us.....Petrol, House prices, Mortgage payments....The list goes on. They can start today for my vote.
  5. Anyone remember the advert on TV in the late 70's/80's with the yellow thatched box on the road at a cross roads junction. Anyone who parked there was picked up by a big hand in the sky. The same should be done to these idiots who seem to think they can park in these area's outside Fire Stations. Out of all the emergency services the Firemen and the Ambulance services do the best job. They should have mobile crushers at the roadside to punish stupid/ignorant drivers and who knows......It may be their house that is on fire that they are going to. People just do not think or read the raod anymore, as it will slow them down getting to wherever they are going. Come to think of it Sheffield Council already do a fantastic job of slowing people down to and from work.
  6. does SCC own shares in mainline, mainline shareholders must be loving this scheme! the council aren't bothered about residents its all about stopping commuter traffic. Seven Stones "the retail Quarter with no visitors"
  7. do residents of the Exeter drive, lansdowne and washington rd flats have to purchase a permit to use the onsite car parking spaces and do you recieve a discount if claiming benefits?
  8. This is good as you don't see all that many people doing Parkour around the Sheffield area. I live close to the area you were doing it and there are lots of places down by the crags and the canal. People will always try and justify to you why it is wrong but what damage does it do to people. Done in the right way it looks amazing and you were getting the kids on the street to have a go too. It is getting so widespread now that it should be accepted as a proper urban sport but I can't see the council granting a custom built area any time soon. Some of the video's on U-tube are very good, especially the one with the two brothers doing it David Belle style. Have you noticed how many films are now including it in the action scenes now, Casino Royale, 13th Precinct and the new Die Hard to name a few. It should now be accepted, part funded by local authorities and televised more. Carry on the good work I say. Nice one.
  9. Magna hold Xmas parties. A load from Telewest went there a couple of years ago. Combined Xmas parties with 3 course meal Dodgem Cars and other entertainment.Quality.
  10. Jean Keane Motoring School, local to town, can pick you up from work for lessons what more do you need ? In the Yellow Pages too. We have passed her onto a few people with no worries. She is a friend though.
  11. Rob the crutches:hihi: before they get chance to rob you, 10-1 odds they will have a divine moment, be instantly cured and chase you all over town. Might be worth a go just so you can leather a bum!! :rant:Why don't these people just stop harrassing decent people and get a grip of their lives.
  12. Sound Control on City Road. I bought my setup from them ages ago, very good shop. Now using Tractor 3 and Numark Axis 9's now as does not use too much space up in the house. Either that or Cloud down Darnall if its still open that is, think it is though.
  13. You could try Jean keane Driving School as she is Manor local and very good. She is a personal friend and has been in the bussiness for years. She is also able to do lessons from work if in Sheffield. Her number is in the Yellow Pages and we have recommended her for loads of our friends with no complaints.
  14. See, I told you so. Reading between the lines is a bad thing throughout forums. At no time did I say the cat was dead, people may have imagined the cat was dead but this is just wishfull thinking:hihi: in a lot of cases. It lived to crap, scratch and scent another day but just does not go into Mother dears garden anymore. It is always amusing when the thread detracts from the original idea and resorts to childish name calling. Troll indeed. I am not in the habit of living under bridges or being a figment from Scandinavian folk lore either and who mentioned paying a lot of money for a pedigree:confused:. You get what you pay for in this world and if that means buying a dog with breeding and pedigree then so be it. Anyway, as the thread has degenerated as per expected, I'm bored now. So away I go to train my dog how to pee and crap on peoples gardens in the best way a pedigree can.
  15. The best bit about this is that she does not live in Kiveton park, I do but we have a dog and don't get Cat crap in our garden. The thing is that people read into things too deeply on this forum and she did not kill the cat, just gave it a right bad belly ache that went away after a while. Made it think twice before crapping and scenting that particular garden again though. You own a dog, you pay for a pedigree, you see the love in it's eye's. What do you get from a cat ? Scratch marks, urine/scent burnt grass and plants, an animal that would no more than spray you than look at you if only you were not the one who feeds it. Cats use humans and that is that. Why feed an animal that is happy to be put out at night, that is quite capable of looking after and feeding itself by killing rodants, birds and anything else it can lays its filthy paws on:loopy:. Hello it's me, I'm back again. OOOH what have you been upto all night Kitty? Now let me think, sprayed every bush and flower bed I could find, not forgetting the cars around where I live:mad:, killed a few birds and look.....I brought you a nice collection of dead things to rot in your home when I hide them under the sofa and in your bed. Cat owners just don't want to admit that they are being taken for a mug all along.:huh:Slightly mad maybe:hihi: but toxic.....some people have got a cheek I'm sure.
  16. My Mother is not toxic but when she spends most of her time in the garden, tending to the plants and food that they grow, the last thing you need is to find cat crap and damage caused by cats un doing all your hard work. The best thing is the neighbour was worried the cat had been done in on purpose and my mum came across all worried and concerned....Quality laugh when she told me, pure quality.:hihi:
  17. I have had a re-occuring back problem since the mid nineties and I swear by the diclofenac tablets and Chinese Wood Oil from the place in Meadow Hell or any other Chinese herbalist. My wife rubs it on my lower back when I feel stiff ( Que the children ) and it warms up the area for about an hour and does the trick. Very good stuff but you only need a few drops at a time cos its lethal. 2 applications a night should do it but rub the first one in untill you more or less can't feel it before you put the second one on. The bottle is only small but you only need a few drops per app. Hope this helps.
  18. Don't get fat or get yourself up the duff = No more stretch marks. Case closed.
  19. Online everytime if it stops me from queing up in the PO with all the old, infirm, illegals and Sheffields general unwashed. The worst bit is when you wait for anything upto an hour and all people are asking for is "Can I have 2 pence on this card £1 on this card and........." Get your life in gear and get a move on. Tax online, one of the better things that they have come up with.
  20. Slug Pellets work a treat........He..He..He........My mums neighbours cat came in and demolished a fare amount of garden produce, the next thing you know it was no more cat in the garden. It is your destiny if you insist on crapping all over peoples gardens where children play and produce is grown. The cat haters are out there.......Be affraid, be very affraid.
  21. This is one of the more serious ones, if not the most. Where in the highway code does it state that you can carry on when approaching a red light if you can't be bothered to stop. Almost every night you see people just drive through like the lights are not there. Now if you just happening to be holding a conversation on your mobile phone while you are driving, this is obviously OK as people should look out for you. Instead of getting yourself home, you also have to constantly watch the road for other people because they cannot be bothered and think their car is surrounded by a force field. I can confirm that the hatching from the roundabout for Mosborough/Darnall/manor has indeed been removed and you can go straight on. This seems to cause problems as stated but if you read the road and understand what you are seeing then there is no problem. Come on guys and gals its not hard and you have passed your test...I hope. Drive to what the road tells you and you can't go wrong. Don't use your mobile because one day Mr watch out for other drivers will one day say "Sod it" and let you run into him cos he can't be bothered.
  22. Oh my god!!!! Lets see now, close the place, scrape all the puke and pee from the floor, walls and where ever else it managed to gather, paint over the stains that won't go away and re-open under a different name. Why am I not a nightclub guru.......But not only that, lets re-open it to the exact kind of dross that gave it the name it had as Kingdom. The addition of a Japanese room can only mean one thing and one thing only.......Imagine the picture of boozed up, pilled up, spotty adolescent kids singing in a giant Karaoke room. Quality all round. Jesting aside, they could fill it with bar staff dressed as Japanese school girls like in the Kill Bill films:thumbsup: . The Japanese also have a very sound, tried and tested Techno/Trance background too:hihi: , unlike the poppy euro crap we have over here. So they could do away with the Hallam DJ "Here we go for Tracey's birthday song" routine once and for all and show the country what can be held in Sheffield once again.......But thats just not going to happen is it:( . Nice try by the owners all said and done, but more of the same i'm affraid.
  23. I bought an Advent multi media desktop from PC World last year and only last week the graphics card started playing up. First call was PC Performance which provide the after sales support if you bought it with the PC. After a diagnostic check and other checks they agreed to send out an engineer to fix the problem for me. Simple as that and it is now working fine again. This is the second PC I have had from there and I must dis-agree with alll the people saying they are rubbish and a bunch of cowboys. The first one I bought was fine untill the power supply decided to blow up!!! I mean smoke coming from the back and everything, quite serious stuff. Down to the store I went to explain what had happened and to show them. They were very sorry, kept the PC and gave me a replacement a week after. Again, this was all part of the extra cover that you have the option to buy when you buy a PC or Laptop from them. So, from the few times I have had problems I can say that you get what you pay for in terms of after care support and service. In terms of the original starter thread PC being faulty from the off then certainly contact trading standards/citizens advice as they have sold an item that is unfit for the purpose that it was intended. I had a problem with the company Alienware where I bought a so called superior laptop that did not work at all. They initially refused to cough my money back up untill I spouted what Trading Standards had told me to say to them. As if by magic, they then paid for the return, refunded a considerable amount of money back to me and that was that. In summary then, don't just go in ranting , get some advice, get some support and go in armed. That way you will get what you want without have a heart attack first.
  24. This is sad news indeed. I am 36 now and have been into the clubbing scene and the whole dance music vibe since the mid 80's. Things have now gone full circle from the days of "Cairo Jax and Roxy" to the best night out in the country, including Gatecrasher, Bed, The Music Factory......Oh the good times we had!! Now what do we have.......Nowt, thats what. The music itself is doing the scene no favours either. You have the likes of Ministry of Sound who were once the market leaders in new and pioneering acts now churning out the type of Euro trash that I was bombarded with in Germany. Whats going on out there? Easy cash in or just lazy producers and DJ's who have made the money, released the TUUUUUUNES and are now sitting back and looking towards a fruitful retirement. It is sad with a capital "S" that our great city no longer has nothing to offer. The best night in my eye's at the moment is the regular "Hed Kandi" nights as they seem to be steering clear of the rubbish the clubs are churning out now. Sheffield is by far not the only place to be affected by this as it's happening country wide. The dance music scene seems to have ran out of idea's in general. Happy Hardcore is even making a come back!!!! Just a mature clubbers point of view.
  25. A thread is written and vanishes soon after......So much for the forum being a place to air views and put a point across. Another glaringly obvious example of the PC society we live in today, it makes me sick. One person who tries to read between the lines, gets upset and has it removed. It also just goes to show that only the select few that people just "Don't want to upset" due to Religio......Oh whats the point anyway. Lets just give in and accept that we are soon to be the minority in this country. OOps, I forgot.....the Government already has.
