  1. I'm enjoying the threads on reddit of people just wasting their time. Apologies for the source - https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/news/6333561/glasgow-ps5-seller-comedy-club-prank/
  2. Don't buy them. I'm hoping people realise that they don't actually need a new console yet, seeing as neither has a MUST HAVE game yet. Scalpers will then be forced to return them, or sell them for what a used console is actually worth.
  3. I see more entitled 4x4 users and taxi drivers running through red lights than I do cyclists. The standard of cycling doesn't seem to have changed post Series 1 lockdown, but the standard of driving has certainly deteriated.
  4. Police don't care about thefts like this. For them, no-one has been hurt and the property should be insured so why bother to actually do their job. Crime reference number, claim off insurance, done. There is no risk to the the thief, so they just carry on.
  5. Seen a couple in there whilst cycling. Only spotted them up the main path, they tend to have moved when you come down the trail.
  6. There's Autohaus Dolby down Don Valley. It's VW but they're all the same.
  7. You'd also have to deal with a less than pleasant neighbour who lives down there. He's well known to the owners as far as I'm aware.
  8. You're on the wrong forum then, this place is full of them.
  9. Imagine if pedestrians were able to look up from their phone!
  10. Looks quieter than a normal day pre-covid. What's the problem. People on the left more likely to be heading on to Penistone Road and those in the right towards Shalesmoor, looking reasonably clear there. But hey! Lets not let facts get in the way of your rhetoric!
  11. For the most part, it just took a bit of planning. Most of that route had either enough room to create a segregated space, or there was a a quieter way to go. However, I did only do this during periods of school holidays. I attempted once or twice outside of this time but trying to cycle through Darnall for example was atrocious. People must realise that car usage is falling out of favour with the council and government and therefore their progress will be hindered if they continue to use them. I'm no eco hippy, I drive an 8 seater car with a large petrol engine with usually just me in it. However, now I'm working from home I'm either cycling to where I need to be or use my wife's little City car. My car is relegated to sitting on the drive, and used when there are all of us going somewhere with all the various attachments kids/dog/bikes etc usually demand. Public transport isn't great if you're not in an area that isn't well served by them. And those areas won't be well served if people don't use them, and if it's not reliable or timely, people aren't going to use them. Before I could drive, I used to have to catch the bus from Greystones Road, bus used to be once an hour, and frequently didn't actually turn up. So you had to walk to Ecclesall Road with all your gear. As soon as I had a license, I barely used a bus unless I was going out on the lash.
  12. I used to work in Dinnington for my sins years ago, and on occasion when the weather was nice enough, I'd cycle. It was about 15 miles each way, and taking into account the traffic, It would take me about the same amount of time as it would to drive. I'm in no way fit, but doing this did make me fitter and it put me in a better mood at work. Set me off better for the day. There's no shortage on hills for that route either, first you pedal up into Handsworth, then drop through woodhouse, then you have to climb all the way up to the A57. I still needed a car for work, so I would either use the work van or leave my car at the office. Some people are just not willing to embrace change or be prepared to think of a workaround. More people should try commuting by car and then they'd realise how bad the current standard of driving is and would be in favour of a segregated roadway.
  13. Vodafone are struggling for capacity on their network and are unwilling to invest in it. Some people are lucky and get decent speeds but the majority are struggling. If you perform a tracert during the day, then the same one in the evening you'll see a massive difference in where the traffic goes. Still within the Vodafone/C&W network but it'll bounce all over the world even to a fairly local server. I made the mistake of moving from Plusnet to Vodafone at the end of last year, but they owned up to the problems and released me from the contract. I was getting 70mb during the day while I was at work and 0.5-1mb during the evening. Went back to Plusnet and had no further issue. Splitting the wifi was something that's mentioned all over their forum, it won't make a difference. Their speed guarantee only covers the sync speed to the router, not the throughput speed so it's a bit of a con.
  14. Even then I bet you get some militant cyclists who refuse to move. Some people give us a bad name.
  15. I think there's a place out at Cromford too. But we all know this bike won't be used in any of these places.
  16. Abbeydale made changes to the Rising Sun when the old landlord left too, and that ruined the atmosphere of that place. Attracts a different type of clientelle now.

  18. Wouldn't be that much of an issue if pedestrians were able to look up from their phones for more than 5 seconds.
  19. "On Accident" it's by accident. "I could care less" when they actually mean I couldn't care less. Anything the yoof currently say. Ta also annoys the snot out of me. Any phrases that are Sheffield also annoy me, and I've been here since birth.
  20. There isn't anything worth visiting in the city centre, that's why the busses are empty. The out of town shopping centres offer more choice, free parking and more transport options.
  21. And not working/striking isn't? It's all well and good striking, but if you're affecting the people who rely on the service, you're not going to win them round to your cause.
  22. Why can't they adopt the Japanese style of bus service striking? https://www.theguardian.com/cities/2018/may/11/no-ticket-to-ride-japanese-bus-drivers-strike-by-giving-free-rides-okayama
  23. Yes he is, it's literally his job title. https://www.sheffield.gov.uk/home/your-city-council/lord-mayor.html First line of the Sheffield Council page above there.
