  1. Thanks komal but they are nylon so couldn't iron to heat fix the design. Thanks anyway.
  2. Greengrocers that can't spell - 'brockley' being the worst I've seen so far!
  3. Does anyone know where I could buy some reasonably priced bags for kids to decorate with fabric crayons? I need about 50 white/natural so designs will show up and thought backpacks would be 'cooler' than slipper bags or shoppers. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  4. S6 Hillsborough, Foxhill, thanks for the offer, 14 sprigs at 12 inch long are lasting 2 days
  5. Have asked once before but had no takers. We started out with four stick insects last year and, despite clearing out any eggs we found, we now have over a hundred! We really need to rehome some of them as finding enough privet to feed them is becoming a problem. If anyone would like some as pets (NOT FOOD) please get in touch. All they need is a tank with a mesh lid that they can't escape from and fresh privet to eat.
  6. Shame on you We were attending a wedding reception last night and my 13 year old daughter wanted a new outfit. After trailing round Hillsborough she finally found the perfect dress in the Big Discount Store and joined us in Morrisons to finish our weekly shop. As soon as we got home she wanted to put the dress on to show us but HORROR - the carrier bag was missing. She had left it hanging on our trolley! We phoned Morrisons but it hadn't been handed in so my husband drove her back to check to see if they could find it. Hadn't been handed in to either Morrisons or Big Discount and wasn't still on the trolley. Couldn't get a replacement so one very disappointed young lady had her evening ruined ....... thanks a lot!
  7. I am designing my own hockey shirt and am trying to find an embroidered hockey stick (about 1/2" wide x 6" long). Does anyone know where I could find such a thing or know anyone with a fancy machine who could make one for me? Any help would be appreciated.
  8. I have high blood pressure and am finding it difficult to book insurance on line without having to phone one of those 8p a minute numbers to declare my condition. Knowing how long it takes to get through it'll end up costing me more for the phone call than the insurance! Just wondered if anyone from the forum has already done all the research and could recommend an insurer. Thanks guys.
  9. We also live in a 'deprived' area but were lucky enough to have a good C of E Primary for our daughter to attend. She did really well and showed great promise. Our problem came when we had to choose one of the two lousy Secondary schools in our catchment area. Neither of them had very good results so we let her choose (she chose the one where she thought she was less likely to be bullied! How sad is that.) She is now in her second year and, to be honest, I am shocked by the standard of 'education' delivered. She hardly ever has homework (despite the school sending us a homework timetable which the teachers don't seem to have a copy of!). Spelling and grammar 'don't matter' as it is 'the content which counts'. At parents evenings we are constantly told how bright she is but that is little consolation. I try not to think of what she could have achieved had we lived somewhere better.
  10. As a regular Radio Sheffield listener I tuned in today to see what I thought:- Love Toby Foster but don't think the earlybird shift suits his style. Howard Pressman - YAWN. How many times did he have to 'thank us for our company'? It's the first time I've ever looked forward to Rony's slot! Switched off due to lack of interest so can't comment on the rest....... Never mind - I'm working tomorrow and won't have to listen.
  11. I answered an appeal on Radio Sheffield for premature baby knits and still have the patterns. They seem to want bootees, mitts, jackets and hats (one of which has a flap so they can attach a scalp monitor without having to take the hat off).
  12. My daughter brought a letter home re procedure for school closure. She was told by her Form Tutor that they were to turn up for school as usual but there was a possibility they could be sent home. She seems to think this only applies to Years 7 & 8 as the others are doing exams.
  13. Yes Weenireeni - that's the sort of thing I meant. Thanks to everyone for trying to help.
  14. I'd like to try knitting one of those hip length cardigan/jackets, possibly cable that have a couple of big buttons and then sort of flare out? Not a good description but I know what I mean! Seen loads of people wearing them and I'm new to cable but wondered if you experienced knitters could help me find a pattern please.
  15. Thanks Macbeth. I'll try there in the morning. Keep your fingers crossed they have some left.
