I guess that means there's nowhere like that do you know if Walkley is safe?

Hi, I'm a mature student who's moving to Sheffield soon, I know nothing about the place so I'm hoping some locals can help! I need somewhere safe where I can walk my dog alone without problems and somewhere less that 5 miles from the city centre and fairly close to The University of Sheffield, does anybody know of any areas like this? Thanks.
