  1. I keep seeing a bunch of bikers on Saturday at Meadowhall Retail Park, even at this time of year. Anyone know who they are? Sorry for butting in off subject, but I wasn't old enough for a bike in the 60's
  2. Is the one at Oldcoats still up and running, and if it is, is it any good? Cheers
  3. You need to read "What's Tha Up To?" and "What's Tha Up To Nah?" By Martyn Johnson. It Might be the same old bobby.
  4. Hi Steved32 This was the year after me. Though many of the names I recognise, some close friends who I am no longer in touch with. I hope he will prove me wrong but I believe John Smalley has passed on to pasture greener (RIP).
  5. I served my time there 65 to 71. Here are some names that spring to mind. Anyone still around? Very sadly I can’t remember any girls’ names with enough confidence to add them to the list. Any help out there willing to make additions? Mick Connelly Richard Green Richard Wall Richard Lean Richard Brown (RIP) Richard Taylor John Carrington Peter Smith Peter Grayson Mick Marcus David Briggs Peter Dyson Martyn Thurlow Yusef Hadar Tim Mahoney Robert Lindsay Mick Bramhall Dave Elliot Robert Elliot Nigel Deakin John Gillot Iqbal Mohammed Ian Ellingham Gary Ashton
  6. ---------- Post added 22-09-2016 at 22:03 ---------- Or has IKEA had a change of plan for the new store:rolleyes:
  7. I hope he stopped for a tour of Page Hall:rolleyes:
  8. Watch out for the poppy sellers outside M&S in Meadowhall when they get active. they usually have a good selection of goodies.
  9. Did a 160 mile run around the Peaks yesterday. Brill run with 7 mates. I have no idea how to attach pictures to posts so with a bit of lateral thinking I have put a vague copy of the rout into my avatar. Yo may be able to "bigger it up" to get the jist of where we were. here's hoping it works
  10. You could always have a go at joining a club to get the best of other’s experiences. Here’s one that’s full of folk from all walks of life, a wide range of machinery and a wealth of experience. You will also get to learn how to keep yourself safer on the road. Don’t let the joining fee put you off it’s well worth it. Have a good browse around the website then follow the enquiry link or just pop down to Meadowhall Retail Park (outside Mc D’s and Pizza Hut) any Saturday morning at around 09:00. Just a thought. Unfortunately It appears that I have not made enough posts on this site in order to include a web address so try to work it out from this. iam (then a dash, no spaces) sheffield (dot) org
  11. Strangely SIV, the people who manage our city’s sports centres have just started writing to members telling them that subscriptions are going up, or at least for some. In September they are scrapping Off Peak and over 60’s concessions. This is really helping to promote the wellbeing of our more senior citizens. Though apparently in return these elderly members will now be able to use their membership for ice skating and the climbing wall (transport to the fracture clinic not included).
  12. Fully agree with winter tyres.l They really work. We live on a steep hill that many cannot negotiate in winter conditions. We have never been stuck. We have a second pair of rims with them on so its easy to change them over, Obviously tyre shops will swap them over at a cost, some even store the tyres for you. Suzuki Jimmy very heavy on fuel.
