euroout23 replied to andyofborg's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
we used to play there as kids in the grounds when it was a care home for the elderly back in the 70,s run by a mrs Swanston our mate who lived there called Alec used to show us all the hidden rooms and passages, it looks very different today though. it was Steve Hinchcliffes place i think until his fall from grace a few years ago when Red or Dead went bust -
No Cary had nothing to do with the Beauchief , that was Christian Kent and there was more to that story than people know! the last operators there were Richard Smiths Thornbridge and they are the ones that cocked it up. you should try The Devonshire you wont be disappointed if you like fresh seafood and good steak its highly recommended. spot on

its very much a "locals" pub but once you have been in a few times its not so bad, some of the clients are shall we say colourful!! pretty harmless, although some look like the cast from"Shameless":hihi: prices are reasonable not tried the food yet but it always looks nice on a sunday when we have called for a pint.
