  1. I remember being on holiday with my parents and grandparents, I guess I was around 13 or 14. Dad and grandad went off to the local pub and left the rest of us on the beach. Dad brought back a bottle of ale for the old man on the beach who was indeed me.😀
  2. Try this site. hoylanddismantling.co.uk It isn't as the name suggests used materials as they have moved more into new products. Have a look you may be surprised.
  3. Any bad or unsafe parking can be reported to the police, in fact they are asking for help in these cases. Send them photographic evidence and they will take it up and fine if deemed illegal/unsafe.
  4. I do not buy strawberries any longer due to the lack of taste. No where near as tasty as those of years ago.
  5. I had one from a trade union party what ever that is.
  6. I purchased two lots of flowers from E florist to be delivered to two different addresses. One was OK the other last only four days before wilting. Both were delivered from local florists.
  7. It may be an idea to call your bank. If you can get through and speak to a person.
  8. As I understand it asylum seekers should claim asylum in the first safe country they get to. How many countries do they pass through to get to GB?
  9. 3 legs are much more stable. That's why milking stools have 3 legs.
  10. I'm not bad enough to qualify for a blue badge and neither is the wife.
  11. I'm not complaining, just commenting on the cost.
  12. Expensive it may have been but we cannot walk very far so chose the option we did.
  13. For the first time in years we ventured to town a few weeks ago, only as we had to register a family death. Bought a pair of trainers and back home again. It cost me £9 to park as we did not know how long we would be at the registrar. Never again will we go to town. SCC are you listening to all the comments?
  14. We had to put my mums cat to sleep a couple of weeks ago and donated the food to the RSCPA down Attercliffe. Our cat is still going strong at 22 years old
  15. Try this from the BBC https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorkshire-64797127
  16. I see the SCC is proposing new traffic alterations. Another nail in the coffin or forward thinking. What do you think? https://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/1168769972?-46851:33741:tt_central_top#out
  17. Yes Harrisons on London road. I took an old photograph of my Gran and Grandad which was all creased and cracked but they did a marvelous job reprinting and enlarging it.
  18. I would recommend spending at least £3 or £4 on a single screwdriver. Any less and it could be ruined after a few screws. Remember you get what you pay for. Try Screwfix or Toolstation for a start. You can't go wrong with Stanley FatMax. Toolstation have a clearance on Stanley FatMax set No 77816 @ £15.49, can't go wrong with that.
  19. I'm talking a good few years ago but my wife and I went to Constance Grant on West Street.
  20. Not sure if this has been covered before but here goes. SCC are to decide to grant or deny the building of a 40 storey skyscraper on the plot where Primark is now standing. Why would anyone want to live with their heads in the clouds. I's only a couple of decades ago quite few tower blocks were demolished in favour of low rise or conventional housing. What are your thoughts. https://www.thestar.co.uk/business/kings-tower-sheffield-d-day-looms-for-40-storey-skyscraper-which-could-become-citys-tallest-building-3994983
  21. Why do people shout down our city. Yes there are areas which are not "up to scratch" but in general it is a great city. Many students who study here remain after gaining degrees so can't all be bad.
  22. It was the park cinema for us. I remember the film projector had a habit of breaking down quite often, usually to cheers.
  23. I look around every year for the best that suits me. If you are offered a better price when asking them or when you threaten to leave, then in my opinion they don't deserve your business.
