  1. Bang on the money. And if every driver took this attitude it results in more dangerous conditions for cyclists overall, as if it wasn't dangerous enough. .. ---------- Post added 04-03-2016 at 17:52 ---------- Have to agree with this assessment sutty, 100% ---------- Post added 04-03-2016 at 17:57 ---------- Can't agree. It's different levels of culpability for cyclists & drivers. As a car driver you just have to accept any false move can result in death & that cyclists & pedestrian will do something daft & that you must drive defensively and with prior thought at all times. ---------- Post added 04-03-2016 at 18:00 ---------- Obviously this does not absolve the cyclist. They can cause accidents too.
  2. What you said, Jemmo...eclectic crowd. No aggro
  3. I'm saying it's not scroaty. The other fella said it was scroaty. The Sheaf gets some characters in but nothing majorly scroaty.
  4. Thats being so close to heeley.there's 1 or 2 alternative characters knocking about....the pubs are good. With sheaf being marginally more scroaty. But if you had a scrotometer it's still only half way up. The Shakespeare was completely different like night and day to the brothers...different clientele. If you go in during the week and in summer it's one of the best views in Sheffield. Really nice place and I've been in a dozen times since it changed hands. Friendly enough. More students & your middle classes than anything. Just avoid pubs on match days. Not worth it.
  5. Don't go on match days then. Every pub around is the same on match days. The pubs are decent, especially the brothers. ---------- Post added 02-03-2016 at 23:47 ---------- Heeley has changed a lot. The brothers used to be called ye old Shakespeare, it's not even the same pub.
  6. Listen to cyclone instead of driving dangerously?
  7. What Cyclone said, shouldn't have overtook
  8. It's a shame as we need good people teaching the nation's youth. I don't think there's a normal range. I imagine because teachers train and pay quite a lot, it's not a decision they come to lightly. I know a few teachers including one of my parents & there's a lot of paper work & inspections with targets. It's not always about teaching which probably puts newbies off. I guess later in life when you have mouths to feed you put up with more crap.
  9. saying someone will eat chocolate cos they eat bananas is daft. ---------- Post added 02-03-2016 at 11:23 ---------- turns a blind eye to littering = turns a blind eye to serious theft. monkey logic
  10. The brothers is scoaty? Compared to what? Lol
  11. Benefit thievesl that's the title of the thread. ---------- Post added 02-03-2016 at 00:49 ---------- As above stay on topic. Don't be daft.
  12. why should i care about someone elses tenancy? ---------- Post added 01-03-2016 at 17:18 ---------- a tenancy is a contract between two people
  13. I'd consider moving! ---------- Post added 01-03-2016 at 15:44 ---------- he lives in page hall.
  14. Would anyone shop their neighbour? I wouldn't it's terrible. Live and let live and mind your own. You can't possibly no everything about someone's circumstances.
  15. Meersbrook, ecclesall & abbeydale for coffee etc. ..eaaaaasy better. Cheaper & friendlier too. You don't have to put up with Dick heads either. ---------- Post added 01-03-2016 at 13:23 ---------- Why pay for parking ---------- Post added 01-03-2016 at 13:24 ---------- Oh yeah I forgot about London Road, which bosses town in terms of restaurants. ---------- Post added 01-03-2016 at 13:28 ---------- What you need in town is more clusters...then people will make more effort. Your problem is the council's woefully underfunded so rates are high, parking is high & lack of inward investment. Just look at the sevenstones development as an example. Leeds isn't perfect but they got it spot on with retail and developments like the trinity centre which is multi purpose. I've never seen that place anything less than heaving ---------- Post added 01-03-2016 at 13:43 ---------- If I was in the bar trade I'd get in the suburbs now...meersbrook is a fine example, the Broadfield took 4 times projected in the first 3 months of opening in 2011 and it's never been busier. Tramsheds is rammed 6 days a week. It's community bars, friendly vibe with good food people want. People will pay a premium but they don't want to feel like they are being ripped off so the product & experience got to be spot on.
  16. Wish Blair would stfu, like he's relevant anymore. ---------- Post added 01-03-2016 at 12:32 ---------- Overspent and betrayed labour roots. Blair is more right wing than Cameron.
  17. Non of those. Town doesn't offer anything you can't get elsewhere & there's nowhere to park. The suburbs is where the party is happening.
  18. Greece been squished by Germany. It's typical imperial mindset. ---------- Post added 01-03-2016 at 12:28 ---------- Counter to democracy, fairness and values of the eu.
  19. Does it blend down green foods like kale & Spinach well? My blenders naff for that. ---------- Post added 01-03-2016 at 09:37 ---------- Did you follow turbo charge yourself in 14 days?
  20. Yes I can highly recommend Tom Colton on 0754 663 6194. Local.
  21. There's more people working on low wages claiming benefits. Those that do not work only make up a fraction. ---------- Post added 29-02-2016 at 23:09 ---------- See above Ron. There's a lot of people claiming for something or other. We should pay more and bring the lowest out of tax too. Richer people should shoulder more of the tax burden. ---------- Post added 29-02-2016 at 23:10 ---------- That would help hard working families mire than increasing the NMW. Which is only going to cost jobs.
  22. People don't pay enough tax. If there was more tax revenue we could increase benefit pay outs and then there might be less fraud
  23. The eu doesn't work like a communist system so don't worry. The original idea was to have unity, a single currency and a single trading bloc and free movement. ---------- Post added 29-02-2016 at 18:07 ---------- I'm not denying the eu has become a sprawling mess, but it's worth thinking about values http://europarlamentti.info/en/values-and-objectives/values/ And objectives, particularly this one... Solidarity Solidarity between countries and people is promoted in the field of the economy, social equality and regions. The member states must be loyal to one another. It means that states must take responsibility for and be understanding of one another. ---------- Post added 29-02-2016 at 18:09 ---------- UK and France are part of the single bloc and must adhere to the values until they are no longer...its not everyman for themselves yet. ---------- Post added 29-02-2016 at 18:14 ---------- Remind you aswell uk people voted on this, and if they vote in this year, it might be another 40 years! It's democracy and we agree to the terms and conditions
