  1. But in actual fact, more young cant be bothered on the day and more old will definitely 100% be voting. That's how its always worked.
  2. I saw a very interesting documentary called "Brexit The Movie" last night. Its available free on YouTube. I would recommend to everyone that they watch it, its only a little longer than an hour. Some say it is better to have a voice in the EU, rather than being outside of it. But in actual fact every single time we have voted against a new rule we lost the vote, and the rule went through regardless. Every.. Single.. Time.. So what is the point of having a voice that is ignored? Another massive point the film made, was this vote is a once in a life time decision. Its not like a general election where if you make the wrong choice you get another vote in 4 or 5 years time.
  3. In my experience, deserted. I have been on Friday and Saturday nights and been one of the five people in there. I'm told by freinds there are busy times, but to me its too much of a risk going there especially since its middle of nowhere. Glad we have OMG now. If its quiet in there you have the whole of West Street.
  4. This perhaps explains why OMG was very quiet last night :/ Every night is gay dating night on the scene! But seriously, just get yourself out on a Saturday and see who catches your eye. Say hello. Grindr can be good sometimes, other times it can be just people listing an impossible shopping list of what they want in a guy. Thought it was just women that did that. But it can be good if you want to say hi and you feel a bit nervous about going up to them. Shots help with that fear though.
  5. This was answered in my original post. Guess you didnt read it. Personally I feel any increase is disgusting. If you look at local taxes in France or Spain they are a fraction of ours. I cannot think of a single thing that we get that is worth so much money. Its just more demands for money to waste.
  6. I have just read in the Yorkshire Post the following article:- http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/council-tax-rises-on-table-as-sheffield-faces-budget-gap-1-7699798 "SHEFFIELD council tax payers have been warned to expect the biggest rise in their bills for many years. It is expecting to raise bills by the 1.99 per cent allowed by the Government before councils have to ask voters in a referendum for permission to increase bills further. The authority is also expecting to use a new power to increase bills by a further two per cent to raise money to help meet rising social care costs."
  7. I'm sure their experience tells them that New Years day is a dead day, as everyone went out the night before. I thought your experience would have told you the same. Twist / Fuel shut down because it was always empty.
  8. Incorrect. The license is payable if you watch or record ANY live TV broadcasts. The flooding on the news reminds me of 2007. Now we will have government saying "Lessons will be learned", "Double our efforts" Why were lessons not learnt last time?
  9. Anyone heard any news about what we can expect for NYE at OMG?
  10. Where does the money go? Look at the millions and months of work spent on turning Bridge St / West Bar from a totally fine 3 lane road, into a single lane traffic jam nightmare. What a complete and utter waste of money.
  11. What do we need to do if we don't want a pride?
  12. Went yesterday, loved it. Best gay night out in Sheffield for a long time, probably since that place that was near John Lewis. Freedom? Was packed, music was fine, crowd was cool. Great location. Rapid service at the bar. Only downside I can think of was £2 for a bottle of water. Too greedy. £6 entry fee was a bit like that too. Oh they could also do with someone going around picking up empty glasses off the floor. Lets just hope they can keep the ball rolling and keep getting the numbers. Nothing kills a venue like drag. No one wants to see that in 2015, especially young students. Didnt Twist have drag bar staff? Always deserted, shutdown in a year. Lets hope they ignore your advice fella. If you want to pack a joint, get bare chested fit guys dancing on tables.
  13. Is this still happening? Its strange the website still says nothing about a venue that's supposed to be opening in 2 days. Why cant gays market anything properly? Website: Nothing Twitter: Nothing Facebook: competing with massage parlour with exact same name
  14. Strange why would it be a problem on West street. Rocky Horror Climax tonight guys!
  15. So bags = bad. So we must stop people using them by charging 5p. But you think I should buy bags for rubbish. No, bags are bad. Let it blow.
  16. I think what I will do is start putting all my rubbish into the bins as is, and not contained in a bag. When this inevitably gets blown around the street when the bin men empty, maybe just maybe they will rethink their stupid policies. (I wont hold my breath).
  17. Why on earth would you look at that? Its the usual thing, its not even open yet and you are looking for reasons to bitch about it and hate on it. No doubt we'll get the exact gay Sheffield response we have had to every place that's opened. Bitch about how **** it is till it closes. Then bitch there is no where to go. If you want a scene, you have to support it.
  18. Yeah. That must be why every shop is a pound shop, charity shop, bookies or phone shop. All those big spenders in Sheffield!! Come back Habitat and House of Frazer.
  19. Have you only just moved here or something? Stop and take a look around you. Council tax already doubled in the last 10 years. How is this Mayor going to do anything but waste waste waste. Like the stupid road works around Snig Hill / Bridge street. Must be costing millions to turn a fully functioning usable road into a one way traffic jam with some grass verges and 4 metre+ wide pavements. Useful.
  20. Cus they are still running and expanding into new cities?
  21. Funny that, I tried U Buffet Friday. Its ok. There's just things missing like those gorgeous Chinese potatoes that Ive been eating since Jumbo's opened! I will miss those so much. There didnt seem as much choice in different noodles and rice too. Have you tried Cosmo Pan Asian restaurant? Its different as they serve Chinese, pizza, pasta, Indian etc.
  22. We have lost a lot of them lately, Flaming Dragon, No 1 buffet, now possibly Landmark / Jumbos. Its lucky we are told the economy is doing so well!
  23. Went past OMG yesterday, its quite a big venue in probably the best place a gay club has ever been. Why did it take so many failed attempts in crap locations to realise I wonder? Since these guys are running a successful clubs in other locations at least there is a good chance they know what they are doing. Fingers crossed.
  24. I usually enjoy a buffet here once a month, and when I went on Friday its all in darkness with a sign on the door that reads. "Landmark buffet will be closed for internal maintenance until further notice. Apologise for any inconveniences. 04/09/15" Does anyone know what has happened? It has been quiet the last few times Ive been, but I just assumed it got much busier later. Oh and last month they started charging people for the meal before they sat down. Something Jumbo used to do years before.
