  1. Joker, She might come from Nigeria or She's received the news that she's won a million quid in their sweepstakes like I did last week!
  2. Dear Mr Shaw, Thank you for your advice. I've emailed you at your office. Thanks again.
  3. My brother owns his semi detached house at Shiregreen, formerly a council house. He looks after it but the next door neighbour's soffit is almost falling off. My brother has tried to reason with the bloke next door to repair or replace it before a gust of wind takes off all the slates but he's not interested. As they share the same roof, is there anything that my brother can do to get his neighbor to repair his property. Any advice would be appreciated.
  4. Been taking Glucosamine/Chondroitin for over 20 years now. Ran out of it once and suffered for it. I've lived in Florida for nearly 30 years but I'm able to order the capsules at a great price for my brother who lives at Shiregreen through the UK Amazon website!{He doesn't have a computer!) Here's the link and good luck; http://www.amazon.co.uk/Valupak-Glucosamine-Chondroitin-100mg-Capsules/dp/B001E9776Q/ref=sr_1_1_sns?m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&ie=UTF8&qid=1375521596&sr=8-1 ---------- Post added 03-08-2013 at 09:32 ---------- Glucosamine/Chondroitin are not painkillers in the way aspirin or ibuprofen are. It takes around a month to build up in your body and start to ease your joints. You should start to feel a difference in your pain level within a couple of weeks or so. Recommended daily amount (RDA) Is 1500 mg per day (3 capsules)
  5. A cricket ball!!! I bet she had fond memories of that day!
  6. Hello Richard, My name is Brian Moss and I started this thread six years ago....my doesn't time fly! I'll be blowing the photo's up tomorrow as I can't quite make out the faces. I do think the school secretary, Miss Crowe is on one of them. Twenty years later I was dealing roulette to her at Napoleons Casino on Ecclesall Road. She didn't recognise me, but I definitely remembered her!!! Also we took Mr Moss for French. After perusing my classwork one day he said, 'It almost makes me weep to know that you have the same name as me'
  7. Any body remember Raymond and Malcolm Davison who lived on Ravencarr Rd?
  8. Didn't they write a song about you? Swami how I love yer...how I love yer...my dear old Swami....or was it some other chap?
  9. I remember Pip, He used to deal Chemin de fer or Baccarat once a month at Naps. He had a novelty shop on Cambridge street.
  10. I remember Don, he was assistant manager to Stuart Furness at Naps in 1978 when I trained and worked there. I think he went up to Leeds as GM in the early 80's. I haven't worked in the UK since 83 so I've lost contact with nearly everyone I knew in and around Sheffield.
  11. Anyone know what happened to Lynn Harris pit boss at Naps and also the two model twin female dealers who worked at Bonapartes at Arundel gate?
  12. Is there anyone on the forum that was on the City and Guilds Leisure and Recreation course Levels 1 and 2 at Stannington College in 1984/5?
  13. I guess there were no sheep out on the Welsh hillsides available?
  14. I started a thread like this on 14/12/2005 with the title Did you live on the Manor Estate 45 years ago? Home > Sheffield Forums > Sheffield History & Expats If you check back you may see some names from the past.

  16. That's right Glyn, I'm only gratefull that the house was still there and not a smouldering heap.
  17. So it's all coming out now! Just how many times did you suffer at the hands (and cane) of our dear Mr Pashley...and what was it for? My only meeting with him and his stick was for making a ruckus on a bus, and I foolishly gave my real name to the conductor. I couldn't remember Geoffs last name
  18. Hope you had a great Christmas and New Year Ken. I'm not on this thread much these days...Facebook has taken over! PS Did you get the musical Christmas card?
  19. That's like coming in front of a judge for speeding through a red traffic light and arguing that for the previous twenty times you stopped at the light and obeyed the rules. You're still going to be found guilty. You can't get yourself to heaven on your own merits. Jesus has already done that for you. The ticket to heaven with your name on it is already printed and waiting for you to pick it up. BUT you need Jesus to validate it for you by repenting of your sins and accepting him as your Lord and Saviour. So simple..... couldn't be easier..... but I'm afraid most people will perish through unbelief of this simple fact.
