  1. You should be safe doing as you suggest, but recommen that the fuse in the plug head is a 5 amp. You would be better using 1.5mm 3 core flex, it will be easier to terminate in the plug head. The cable you have will not notice any difference, it is just too big for your needs. If you have any worries 're this advice I have over 50 years electrical experience. Regards.
  2. My sister, Maureen, was a big friend of Olga. Unfortunately both are now dead. I attended Burngreave from 1951 to 1955. I remember Miss Yates and her strap, which I never felt. There was also a Mr.Wild, Art teacher, who died from peritonitous.
  3. The Moor. This is a total mismatch of plain buildings. The new market is out of proportion as well as being in the wrong place. The building below JLP. The red scaffolding should have been removed long ago. The Grosvenor Hotel. Thank goodness it is to be demolished. The Jessop's hospital replacement building for Sheffield University. Not on the same planet as the original Red Brick on Weston Bank or Mappin Street.
  4. My mother was evacuated to Eton Hall outside Retford when she was expecting my younger sister Maureen in 1941.
  5. The cottages were still occupied in 1950. Cannot recall them being demolished.
  6. The same bomber dropped bombs on Danville Street, Normanton Street and Scott Road. I was born on the first day that German bombers came over England. 4months later we were dug out from the ruins of our house on Normanton Street.
  7. Borrows. Children's names. Jean,Dennis,Carol,Malcolm,Linda and Tony.
  8. Jewel and Warriss. Had their own radio shows and pantomimes. Morecomb and Wise based themselves on Jewel and Warriss
  9. I lived at 43 Normanton Street which was a mid terraced house. after the 12th of December 1940 ,it was an end terrace house. I, along with my mother and father had to be dug out the next morning. We lived the next few years with my grandparents in Grimsethorpe Road. My father went back to the ruined house later in the morning and had to chase the looters away.
  10. The Robin Hood closed at the end of 2001. This was when the Peacock at Owler Bar was done up.
  11. My father was born in 1913 and lived in Duke Street. When he was about 12 years old, he and some mates went into a tunnel somewhere near the Queens Head and went some way into the tunnel b ut they had to turn back due to the stale air.
  12. I lived at 43 Normanton St. from 1940 to 1962 but I do not remember anyone of that name
