Who would the Owls fancied at their striker? As for us... I'm satisfied... but hoping to get a strong defender and a midfielder, both with a presence. I don't think we need anymore than that.

If they do finish mid table, same as last season do you think your owner will stick with the manager - seeing as you've bought loads of players. I'm saying this because of what Cardiff did with their manager. You've signed some good players though. On us, if you'd have said to me after the first game of the season, you'll be second and win 4 games on the trot I'd be happy. Think it was good that we lost in such away... got us to pull our finger out!

Just a quick point regarding owls. I said in my last post we didn't need to fix what wasn't broken. But in some respects the owls have broken something that hardly needed fixing. And complicated your club.

As a blade, I'm satisfied. I don't think it was totally necessary for us to go mad. Think we still need a couple of players on loan... Defender and midfielder. But overall I'm happy. We didn't need to fix what wasn't broken.

How long though, next season? Risky though tbh... too many changes can rip the heart out of the club. I don't think it will happen though. You've signed some good ones... with a bit of experience... especially turner. He was going to join us but wages are astronomical. £35k a week I heard. There's always that danger when you buy older professionals in the twilight of their career that they just come for the money - trouble is; where does that leave a club should things not go according to plan. It's the same mistake as last time all those years ago. What if your chairman gets bored! And I'm being genuine.

You could have said the same thing against Bristol City... oh... you all thought you'd won the league. Then when asked... it was... "it was the way we won!!" then it all went down hill from there. Technically speaking, you haven't won a game yet against a credible championship side.

Agree with both of you. I do think though Donny, and Burton will be a hard fought battle. Especially away to Burton... as you've said CB there good at home and will want to make their home a fortress. Battle on our hands with these two. I do think though we'll be top before Christmas. Sure we'll have our ups and downs but what a great opportunity we have.

No doubt we'll need to invest... that's the obvious part. But what's not obvious is that we've already got a plan for the premiership - regarding players, and who we want. We now have a very competent back room staff and finally a manager who's managed in at least 3 different leagues and done the business. So we have someone who knows the job. Players up and down the country respect him and what I love about him is that he keeps it very simple. He knows how to get out of L1 and knows how to get out of the championship. Do I think this will be easy... certainly not. Will we get ups and down... of course. Will we lose a few... too right. Will we need to spend... well that's obvious. Yes the championship is getting competitive... but that will only bring out the best in us on and off the field. We won't throw good money at average players, we won't over spend and certainly wont bring in people who just come for the money - which is currently being demonstrated as we speak. Look at Cardiff, Leeds, Owls (seeing it coming) who are/were/did spend wildly with mad owners with no sensible game plan... we've looked at this and looked at what not to do. Then theres Southampton, Swansea... now they are clubs who we'll model.
