The wednesday night English Pool 8 ball league 2012/13 season starts again in October. The format is 9 frames (6 singles and 3 doubles), and we like to hear from any places interested in entering a new team. Currently there are around a dozen teams in the league, from areas including Chapeltown, High Green, Thorpe Hesley, Ecclesfield and Harley. If anyone is interested in starting a team please let me know via this thread or by PM, Thanks

Actually, you'd be surprised by food, it is very underrated there and you'd be hard pushed to find better value for money in the surrounding areas here is a link to the menu, well worth a try http://thecommie.co.uk/menu . As for the beer, it won CAMRA's prestigious pub of the month award recently and was the location for a recent CAMRA branch meeting so it is obviously held in high esteem. I dont disagree about the lack of rural charm, though the beer garden at the bottom of the car park is usually rather quiet and pleasant and sufficiently away from the noise of the main road. -
