A solicitor would need to contact the landlady not blundells, surely. It's the landlady withholding the deposit. Blundells are just being lazy getting a report done. You literally need to be on the phone to the letting agent every day to get them to get something done. If the deposit is under the DPS she obliged to list the damage and provide proof so it is in her interests to get the report done. Unless of course she knows she hasn't got a leg to stand on in the end...

Was your deposit under the deposit protection scheme? If so, your landlord has to prove why he/she needs to claim ALL £475 of your deposit for a carpet clean and putting a shelf back up. If it's not under a scheme the only thing you can do is keep applying pressure , mention a solicitor and hope they give it back.

I'm not just going on what other people say, I saw it with my own eyes as we went round at different times of the day/night and I didn't like it personally.

Sounds a bit like the woodseats weasels. They are operate out of the WMC on a regular basis with a similar tactic and are the main reason for all the traffic problems up there.
