  1. Thank you Blackbeard. I am working up business plan. I am not looking to make huge amounts. As long as I can provide myself with a living and more importantly provide much needed amenities to families, in terms of fun educational days out. Do you know named contacts at the two places you mention that you could help link up with? I will ignore the other two sniggering responses.
  2. Advice please I am currently torn between two ideas I have for museums I wish to open. I am considering a princess Diana museum to be located in wadsley bridge. But I feel more drawn to opening a rolling pin museum, and hoyland common/ wombwell are the obvious locations. Has anyone got any museum curatory or funding experience. How do I get footfall? What do I charge? My dream is for the museum to be packed with school visits in the week but a real family fun day out at the weekend. General advice and opines welcome and appreciated.
  3. I received a flyer from Haybrook estate agents this morning.... About a free valuation certificate I called up and was very disappointed The certificate appears to just be a letter The certificate does not come in a frame and when I enquired there is also no awards ceremony along the lines of sports personality if the year. Very disappointing after my initial excitement at the possibility if receiving a free certificate. Does this seem right? Maybe you could phone haybrook and see if you can get a presentation evening organised to get your certificate I am stumped Their number is 0114 246 8524

  7. Can somebody please start a Victoria wood rip thread
  8. This woman is doing everything the government want but has dared to take a holiday It is isn't her who has created an economy of low wages....but she is willing to work for it...pulling pints instead of being at home reading her kids stories and helping with homework... She is willing to work on an insecure zero hours contract It isn't her who has created a crazy housing market where you can't get mortgages on a minimum wage and housing rents have become ridiculous due to 'market forces' of morally bankrupt I'm aL right Jack landlords So she claims the universal credit the government says she is entitled to and incidentally supports many profitable corporations to pay workers low wages How else is she supposed to manage it? Then she might stick £20 a week away for a year to pay for her holiday.....how dare she? She might have saved that £20 by shopping at aldi, not having heating on as much who knows? What do people want for her. 10 to a room workhouse? Gruel for sustenance? 12 hours 6 days and a lecture on being virtuous in Sunday morning? ---------- Post added 15-04-2016 at 10:43 ---------- The country is a disgrace On one hand we have affordable housing £250 k but a minimum wage of £8 an hour Let's do the maths A couple both work 37 hrs so 74 hours At £8 an hour ...so £592 called it £600 for 52 weeks call it total income £31000 Banks loan 3 times salary 3x31 is 93k and you need 10% deposit so 10k This means affordable housing should be 100k if the living wage is a living wage Or we can do the inverse Affordable housing 250k Less 10% deposit 25k is 225k Divide 3 to get salary require by bank is 75k So each person needs to earn 37.5k a year Divide 52 to get weekly wage of £720 ish Divide 37 hours comes out at about £20 an hour So what is it? Reprice affordable housing or stop calling crap wages living wage
  9. No mate...that will have been Lee Westwood... He is always doing the I'm danny willett thing My brother had the same happen at fantasy island at centertainment Jordan spieth is playing concord on bank holiday Monday 9.30 am for wincobank packaging trophy....smart money is on McIlroy mind
  10. Bumped into him looking for a ball in the rough on Concord this morning Said Concord is his favourite course, speith was a nice guy and is coming over for a round on it at the end of May.....he likes trudging up the hills sweating in the summer Also he bought a dozen balls off some kids selling them for £2 Top bloke
  11. It's a one party system ....the fools can't see it....distracted by the dazzling lights.....that's how illusionists pull it off
  12. Two party system??? You are mistaken. It is a one party the system. The establishment. While they argue theatrically on question time, they attend each other's weddings, send their kids to the same schools, award contracts to the same companies and use the same escorts! Get real....when a party was set up by the working class masses it was quickly infiltrated by the establishment to the point Tony Blair a true establishment man ends up in charge. I mean Blair and Cameron pretty much agree on everything. The minute a non establishment figure like Corbiyn emerges the establishment round on him as unelectable. Not that I am a fan I just see it for what it is The establishment don't care whether it is a Tory or labour government as their view will win through as they have the money and influence to ensure their positions are maintained. This is just an illusion of democracy.....the will of the majority of the people is not what the government is implementing!
  13. I would go further and like to publicly exclaim via all Internet sources and mediums as follows RIP all people who have ever died. Old or young. Celebrity or non celebrity. Only good people though not evil. Especially the Queen Mum. Thoughts and prayers with the families. I hope this comforts you all as you search for this thread on sheffield forum via Google with salted tear ducts. Amen.
  14. I imagine threads like these and tweets from non entities will be a great source of comfort to family. I mean seriously it is like somebody dies and who can start the rip thread first. Why do people feel the need to express this publicly?
  15. Please update us with response from wickes
  16. Can I suggest to the moderators that this mega thread is split in two 1. A moderator managed thread that only posts dates and details of car boots 2. Discussion thread for likes of...what's Carboot at hillsborough like? Or is it any Good? Where is on. Next weekend? So much of last years thread was lazy people who didn't read the dates posted on 1st page So for me split into 1 dates and details only and 2 chit chat
  17. But the French either haven't been brainwashed or aren't stupid enough to believe that cheap is all that matters. They burnt british sheep imports but they protected their interests...to be admired you could argue. Vive la Republic gives a greater national pride than we have. We need to start realise how our buying actions affect the whole country Needs a huge campaign in my opinion but wouldn't fit well with pro Europe agendas ---------- Post added 19-01-2016 at 23:56 ---------- Disgraceful.....on both counts if true The government must lead the charge on buying british to build Britain
  18. Then we need to be the 1st to wake up to false economy We know it makes sense on a personal level to do things properly...do it cheap buy twice... We all know So we should individually and certainly the government should promote british made as quality product that benefit us all...that in the long term will make economic sense This bottom line mentality has to change for Britain to succeed Buy a carpet 20m squared at £5 a metre is £100 buy it every year for 10 years is £1000 Buy one 20 m at £25 a metre is £500 lasts ten years Bottom line buying cheap imports and awarding government contracts to those that are more interested in profit than service is destroying our country We have a role as citizens so do the government to model an approach and a commitment to Britain Look at the cars on the road when you go to France !
  19. I agree with that...but let's not bury our heads that killing off 2000 well paid jobs will be an easy transition It will cost the country in some way I have been there and and I am retrained and self employed....not all are as strong...and some direct government money subsidising industry makes more sense that indirect costs later.... But the indirect costs suits the government as g4s etc can deliver training programmes of questionable quality and turn a profit for shareholding Tory voterrs ---------- Post added 19-01-2016 at 23:13 ---------- What about the government increasing the purchase if british manufactured goods I recall about 10 years ago in Derby a train build contract was lost to the French for about 5 million in a 1 billion contract....it cost the country more than that in what the government will have had to pour into Derby due to loss of contract ---------- Post added 19-01-2016 at 23:15 ---------- And what about the farmers who didn't care for british industries...but now we should support british farming industry ? Support them or let them eat their just desserts? ---------- Post added 19-01-2016 at 23:17 To somebody...do you know What an Acrostic is? Tell us
  20. Read the thread Just try try try looking a bit harder in general
  21. Very poor complaint...weekday at 730? 1 speak to your neighbour 1st ....they should have been up ready and sorting it quickly...but that requires face to face not keyboard warrior 2. If you get any work done on your house make sure your builders only work 1030am til 3pm and pay them the full day for it...
  22. Pedantic point Do we support british industry for the reasons outlined? ..i.e it makes sense when you look beyond your nose or not
