  1. If anyone is going to blow up it's me. Am now trying for the 9234576th time to get through to the tax credits line and am sick to f****** death of hearing the same whining bint going on about currently experiencing high call volumes ... GET SOME MORE BLOODY LINES OPEN AND MORE STAFF IN THEN YOU DOZY GITS!!!!!!! Someone pass me the tranqilisers please.....
  2. Sorry but I misread the title and was scratching my head for ages wondering how and why anyone would want to tie-dye a goat......
  3. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7410127.stm Oops sorry, got the sick pay bit wrong but essentially the rest is correct - see article above.
  4. I didn't suggest that it's not a free country, and as far as I'm concerned people can drive around in whatever they like. All I am saying is that a lot of people's reasons and excuses for driving 4x4's stem merely from them looking "trendy" and not from their originally intended use and the practicality of the vehicle.
  5. As far as I'm concerned, virtually all 4x4's are just a fashion statement of the misguidedand are totally unjustified as a day to day transport unless you live in the countryside or an off road area. As for the load space inside them, virtually all of them are terrible and have little or no boot space compared to an average estate car which would win hands down ... but then again estates are hardly stylish looking to your friends and family are they?
  6. The only kids that need smacking are the ignorant little shell suit and baseball cap attired ****s that hang around on street corners, outside shops and generally plague places such as Meadowhall with their presence. I'd gladly whack the dopey little *******s with a cricket bat any day of the week.
  7. Anyone out there seen the new government proposal about agency workers rights after 12 or more weeks in the same job? Apparently after this length of time, agency workers will have the same rights and entitlements as permanent employees with regards to salary, overtime, holidays and both holiday and sick pay. If this bill is passed then surely anyone using temps will just fire them off after 11 weeks and just get some new ones in? If a company do retain a temp for more than 12 weeks then are they going to pay the agency more than they pay their own workers so that the agency can still make a profit? The reason I'm bringing this up is that as an agency worker, I have been in my current position for over a year now hoping for the miracle(s) of a permanent position and a pay rise but all to no avail. Does anyone think that this will end up forcing businesses into employing workers rather than using temps or will it just end up as a high turnaround of 11 week workers?
  8. I met my girlfriend 7 months ago on Friends reunited dating and I reckon it's the best money I've ever spent. If you decide to have a go and want a hand getting to grips with it .. ie. your profile, gimme a shout. Oh, it's probably the best and cheapest one to use as well.
  9. What I'd like to know is how long Guy Fawkes dressed in an Umbro tracksuit and wore a ghoulish face mask?
  10. I would say that most of the kids involved in the gang culture that dominates our streets at the moment are deep down not really bad kids, just succeptible to peer pressure from usually the older and more "criminally wise" members who will probably be the gang leaders. From personal experience it seems that the majority of the younger kids appear either afraid to ditch the culture (peer pressure once again) or simply don't wish to appear weak in front of the other members. What WOULD work is to deal with the ringleaders and other likeminded members in a way that they understand only too well - ie fight fire with fire. I mean to say, if a gang of teens is confronted by a gang of adults intent on dealing with this problem quickly and decisively, then I would suggest that the younger members would run like hell and think twice about this kind of behaviour in future leaving the so called "hard cases" standing there needing a swift change of underwear. Some might say that this just lowers the ordinary law abiding citizens down to the teens level, but if this were to happen all across the country on a regular basis, not only to the gangs but the drug dealers as well, I reckon you'd see the crime stats tumble. To put it simply, one guy confronts a gang and it's in the next days paper as a murder. Enough guys confront the same gang then it's a different story. OK so the police would take a very dim view of this practice and most likely arrest anyone for attempting it but while ever they are either unable or unwilling to deal with the gangs then it's up to everyone to turn around and say enough is enough.
  11. Check out the Sun to see just how far things have gone. They dont just have cigs and booze anymore, it's progressed to automatic pistols, knives and what looks like an assault rifle. This involves three or four seperate gangs now and has attracted the Polices' attention.
  12. Has anyone read todays (18th August) Sun with regards to the teenage gangs website? What did you feel towards these people - and just what do you think should be done to stamp out the "gangsta" trend of both glorifying, carrying and sometimes using both knives and guns? Also, did you recognise any of the people featured in the pictures? If so then are you going to inform the police of who they are? Personally, it made my blood boil to see these little scrotes acting like hard cases because they had a varying range of weapons. Take the guns, knives and the security of their gang away from them and they'd most likely crap in their pants if you as much as said "boo!" to them. Frankly if they do like guns so much, then give them 12 weeks basic training and ship them off to Iraq or Afghanistan and let's see just how hard they really are. OK, rant over.
  13. I suppose next the BBC will take us over to Tokyo for a set recorded earlier by the Tellytubbies or something equally as nauseating
  14. Now Spinal Tap have gone after just two songs .... The TV is now in the garden having just been thrown through the living room window. I'm gonna bill the BBC for both .... w*****s
  15. Just got home from work eager to see the metallica set and what do the BBC decide to do? Show us recorded highlights from Australia and Germany after just one song! (which incidentally they cut the start of it off) Bl**dy typical .... as soon as something a little less than mainstream comes along that the beeb don't find too palatable we're off to listen to some nice sugary music that they think we all like.
  16. Looks like the OP has gone to bed without supplying us with an answer. I'm a bit naffed off with that actually as I was intrigued to find out what the actual figure was.
  17. Exactly. We are no more than a shadow of the super power we once were, and as a result of this we should downsize our armed forces accordingly. Doing so might just allow some much needed cash to be injected into worthwhile causes such as housing, the NHS, old age pensions etc.
  18. Course I'm sure .... I work in the motor vehicle retail industry Also as I said in an earlier post, the salesman will greet you when you enter the showroom, give you a brief introduction to how the place works via an on screen presenter and then leave you to browse in peace. However, should you need any help they will be happy to assist you in any way possible. What's wrong with asking for a discount? The trouble with most people in England is that they seem to think there is something inherantly wrong with this. **Newsflash** NO THERE ISN'T - Try it the next time you buy something such as a fridge, TV, Computer, Ipod .. almost anything in fact. You might just get a pleasant suprise when your local retailer offers anything between 5 and 15 percent off. If you don't ask, you dont get and it just goes to show that it's not just the motor trade that bump display prices up.
  19. Every car sales outlet uses this system, not just Carcraft so don't discriminate. In fact most retail industries could afford to offer a discount on whatever goods they sell, it's just that us Brits don't like to haggle over prices, just moan about them to other consumers.
  20. All the cars sold at Carcraft are fully checked and made roadworthy before they are put on sale. Any cars that are substandard are rejected and sent back to the supplier. If by chance a problem manifests itself after a customer drives away then they should bring it back and get it rectified free of charge. Also please bear in mind that for every car that does come back for whatever reason, there are literally hundreds that remain virtually trouble free and give their owners a good service. Remember, bad publicity invariably sticks in peoples minds as opposed to good. Now, I'm qualified to comment on this as I work in the motor trade and know exactly how it works. On what do you base your comments?
  21. The "obvious" faults that people find are almost always cosmetic, and this is always taken into consideration when pricing the car. If it's unsightly then it'll usually get rectified. If you want a car that's cosmetically perfect then buy a brand new one. Mechanical faults shouldn't arise as soon as you drive away as each car is PDI'd and then quality checked. Should a mechanical fault arise, don't moan about it on here, take the car back, moan to them and get it fixed - free of charge, usually with the option of a courtesy car if the job takes more than a day. What people should realise is that s**t happens - cars DO break down and things do go wrong with them. It can happen to any car, regardless of it's age, mileage or condition and also regardless of where it was purchased from. It can happen 5 minutes after you buy it or it could happen 5 years after. This is just the nature of the damn things.
  22. Why do people moan about the price they pay for cars AFTER they have bought them? Why not complain before you pay for it? The chances are that you might get a hefty discount. When buying a car it's usually a wise decision to shop around and get an idea of the average price of the model you want, that way if the car you fancy does seem overpriced, then you can indulge in a little price re-negotiation. DONT be scared to ask for a discount as most dealers incorporate this into the screen price of their cars .... stop being so bloody British and get haggling. Oh, and check out the internet prices as well as these are usually much cheaper.
