  1. Steven Gerrard rightly defends his club, his fans and his city..he seems a good honest fella. The recent attack on the Liverpool fans was a typical beaurcratic attempt to deflect attention away from the recent failings of UEFA regarding a number of issues - attacks on police (Italy and the decision to hold the next Champion League Final in Rome:loopy: ) policing methods in certain continental countries, ticketing rip offs, malpractice of ticket allocation, corporate nepotism and multiple other issues regarding hooliganism. How do you deflect criticism - criticise someone else - better still if they are a soft target. This is just not my opinion - The Guardian, Times and Independent ran similar pieces this week criticising UEFA over numerous issues and its transparent lack of leadership: they concluded that the Liverpool criticisms were a mere smoke screen to hide their own deficiencies - they were trying to bury bad news folks. To all those people who have been posting, criticising Liverpool and her fans; I have to say that they have allowed themselves to be manipulated by UEFA'S propaganda - go to a typical Italian game in Seria A and tell me that Liverpool fans are badly behaved. Go to a Dutch second division game and tell me they are well behaved. Have a 70,000 seater stadium for UEFA finals and allocate 30,000 tickets for both sets of fans. Allow corruption on a massive scale in some European leagues and allow these countries to take part in World and Euro competitions. Pay for a season ticket and follow your team home and away all season throughout Europe - buy a legit ticket and be denied access to the ground - at the same time the prawn sandwich brigade have their ticket, their seat and cannot be bothered to leave the bar to watch the match - all courtesy of UEFA. Here's to Liverpool and her fans:thumbsup:
  2. Replace the word 'unemployed with the word 'rich' ?
  3. I thought the draw against Brazil was a fair result - though I thought Brazil were in third gear all match Estonia are a good little side given the size of the country. They rely on their defence but have nothing up front - have yet to score a goal in the Euro campaign and if they do lose it is by a goal not usually 3 or 4. Croatia won the other night in Estonia - looked as if it would be a 0 - 0 until Eduardo popped up and scored another belter. Will this recent defeat by the Croations dispirit the Estonians or will they raise their game another notch as the England circus rolls into town? If we play that low tempo stuff again I fear a 0 - draw - which will reduce our chances of qualification. That is why we have brought Beckham back - we look blunt in open play but with Beckham we pose a real threat on set plays. Estonia are a physical side and they give away free kicks - I see England scoring from a set play or perhaps a penalty (Beckham diagonal to Owen). Mclaren may be tempted to play Crouch for the set plays. I worry about Smith in competitive matches - at times he is a terrible tackler and the odds on him getting sent off is too high for me. Although I think McLaren is the wrong manager - England have been very unlucky in this campaign - with injuries etc. Again we are missing Rooney, Ferdinand, Neville, Lennon, Carrick and most notably Hargreaves to the squad. We are ready to give an opposition a good beating - lets hope it will be in Estonia 2-0 England
  4. Thought England played well and Mc's selections paid off - they were up against a very good Brazillian team...albeit a friendly Lets hope they can get a good result in Estonia When Hargreaves is back - I would like him to have the anchor role in midfield and give Gerrard centre midfield/forward position
  5. How many of the current contestants do you think were originally women?

  9. I did read the article that is why I wrote the points above - I explained why there is a dearth of city flats, a lack of family property and a typical propaganda piece on Two Jags:huh: Yes... 'its not about affordable housing' - PRECISELY
  10. Lazyherbert has drawn me into his devious web of arguement and he has made me...google Lazyherbert is enjoying his retirement from his long service in the rolling mills and good luck to ya...hope you have many years of happy retirement............ but here's an interesting stat for you Mr L a male teacher who puts over thirty years of service in teaching and retires at sixty - the average life expectancy for that teacher after retirement is 2-3 years All that caravaning must take its toll SO....Give them their 10% and throw in a years free membership TO: http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/
  11. I was having a humerous (?) pop at the leather elbow patch brigade not trolling at forum members - there is a difference Good luck to the teachers...and their caravans of course
  12. I don't think that John Prescott can be blamed for the shortage of affordable housing.....bit rich from the Telegraph One of the main reasons for the shortage of housing is the millions of people who are now single. Increasing life expectancy, people are marrying at a later age and the divorce rate has massively increased the number of single person households. Developers are building flats because they get a better return on their money by building upwards. They are also getting brown field site land for 'cut down' prices. Those poor poor property developers with all their fortune not being able to sell a few flats here and there...your heart bleeds for them Also people are buying properties to let that previously were on the market to buy. The anxiety over pensions has led to people investing in the housing market...this again has pushed up prices and limited availability of property. The south east migration has put pressure on the housing market. The sale of council housing (social housing) was a popular move but the Tories refused local councils the money generated to build new housing stock...we are now trying to play catch up because of that policy. Prescott to be fair to him has been severely criticised for allowing house building expansion on green field sites. This piece is just a bit of Prescott bashing Nice to see no mention in the article about social housing or calls for affordable housing to be provided for by these developers.....
