Will Sheffield Get This Deep Snow?
steved32 replied to bassett one's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Don't rule it out. Winter of discontent (1979) saw heavy snow in March. One June in the seventies, snow stopped play at Headingly!! -
Will Sheffield Get This Deep Snow?
steved32 replied to bassett one's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
It's been predicted for weeks now! Clickbait, usually from rags like Daily Express/Mail. -
"UK’s fifth-largest supermarket, which is £7.5bn in debt, has shifted to negative." Since the US takeover, prices have gone daft, so thousands have defected to Aldi, Lidl... even Sainsbury's are more competitive. To paraphrase their jingle, "There's no reason to shop at Morrison's."

Oh dear...

Jared O'Mara On Trial - Now Found Guilty
steved32 replied to HeHasRisen's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Yes. Not in the same league as Bad Nad, though. -
Heckingbottom apparently refers to Jebbison as still being a "baby." After his petulance today, I can see why.

Jared O'Mara On Trial - Now Found Guilty

Small potatoes, compared to Sunak, Zahawi, et al... -
Professionalism. Integrity. Accountability. PIA? How about Phoney, Insincere, Asinine?
-
Rishi Sunak orders ethics adviser to investigate Nadhim Zahawi’s tax affairs. Mmmm. Pity he didn't order it when he knew about it....months ago! Same old, same old...Tories only react when they're found out...not when they know about wrongdoings. So naive, though...they try to front it out, even when we know that a sacking/resignation is inevitable...no doubt it will be SIR Nadhim in time. After all, we have SIR GAVIN WILLIAMSON, for disservices to Education. FFS!!

The lawlessness and sense of entitlement which continue to emerge from the government can all attributed to one Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson. Sunak, Zahawi, Hancock, et al. continuously sucked up to and lauded him, knowing he is a narcissistic liar. They all think they're above the law and untouchable. Glib comments about us being "all in it together" are laughable. This lot are like the pigs puffing on their fat cigars and quaffing whisky in the final scene of "Animal Farm." Hypocrisy personified.

Johnson, Sunak, Zahawi, porn-watcher, groper...ah, the good old party of law and order.

Sheffield One Of The Best City Break Destinations
steved32 replied to bassett one's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
"Time Out has named Sheffield the second best city break in Europe, alongside some incredible locations including Marseille, Milan and Bilbao." Mmm...wander down the Moor...take in the empty retail units...marvel at the empty Debenhams store...wander up to the vacant John Lewis building before sampling the delights of a Wetherspoons dining experience. Las Ramblas has nothing on Yorkshire's "premier" urban tourist destination -
Sunak refuses to say whether he pays for private health care. Laura Kuenssberg gave him what for! Silly man. By refusing to answer he's running scared. Why? Thatcher freely admitted exercising her right of choice (and privilege!) in paying for health care. Unelected PM who shows absolutely zero leadership.

Sunak plans to make maths education compulsory for all students up to the age of 18. Has he started on the Boris Johnson diet!!? Just improve maths provision at primary level (age 4 - 11). Johnson, Truss, now this unelected twit. They're all as mad as cheese!
-
That speech was unintentionally hilarious. After twelve years of Tory misrule and recent chaos, I thought Sunak was going to go into full Basil Fawlty mode, smacking himself on the bottom, chastising himself, "I've been a very naughty boy!!!"
-
The same may be said of the current resident of No. 10, during the widespread strikes afflicting us all. A few months ago my dad had a memory test from his GP. One question was, "Who is the Prime Minister?". He could only answer, "Er, I've forgotten his name but I know he's got blond hair and he's an idiot!" Well...at least Boris the lawbreaker was memorable in some way, whereas this whimp in No. 10 is running scared.

Collins Family And That Huge Memorial !

Just seen a photo of PM selling poppies in London. Makes a change from PMs in hi-viz, hard hats, combats ... .... but still pathetic. Do they think the British people are fools? Er....Brexit, Boris supporters... yes, there is foolishness in the electorate.
-
All's ok then. Cameron, Johnson, Truss and now Rich Rishie. All good, eh?
-
Grim that. So nobody votes for anyone?
-
After twelve years of "government" I think accountability is a reasonable call. Don't you?
-
Two years away from a general election, so let's reflect - do you, or any of your family have: A mortgage Anyone in care Anyone in hospital A child in education A uni student Someone working in education, NHS, public services Someone having to use food banks Anyone who believes that life is better now than in 2010!???? Replies should not refer to "The war in Ukraine... pandemic, etc..." Replies SHOULD refer to a decade of austerity under Cameron, Clegg, Osborne, et al. Johnson and Truss added to the chaos. And, Sunak's first week continues the horror.

Female equivalent of Smashie and Nicie. But not funny. Insincerity is sickening..."My darling...luvvie...precious..." Baaaarf!!

The Daily Star lettuce would have looked good compared to the disaster that was Liz Truss.
