  1. Thought something might have been mentioned on here already but anyway I am sure a few of you will have watched The Voice on BBC1 a few weeks ago and saw one of our own Jade Hewitt flying the flag for our city? Anyway I see on twitter that she released her first single this week and it is currently on it's way up the UK country charts. It was number 9 the last time I checked and was on it's way up above the likes of Taylor Swift and Johnny Cash however is a good bit of that number 1 spot I believe. In all fairness it is a decent track, having purchased it for 99p it is more than worth the listen and after all it is supporting one of our own. I don't know the lass but good on her that's what I say. These are the links from twitter for purchasing the track. http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00VHLZ952/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_QJNhvb0CXMQKB https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/take-a-ride-on-the-sun-single/id981701933
  2. Hi Pete, I don't know you however it is blatantly obvious that you are an extremely wise, well spoken and respected person on this forum and no doubt away from the forum as well. Without knowing you I get the impression of a stronger person and a real fighter and you really are an inspiration for the way you go about things despite your health issues. Take good care of yourself buddy, from what I have seen on here I get the feeling that you are not the type to just sit back and admit defeat. You are no doubted going to put these health issues all the way. Good on you Pete, you are a much stronger bloke than me buddy and in such a small time you have my complete respect.
  3. No disrespect intended to any of the members on here but this section of the board is a tad boring in comparison to the rest of the forum. I know I dont know many of you but what is the average age on here if you dont mind me asking in the nicest possible way? The only reason I ask is that it appears as a spectator that certain members only reply to score a point as opposed to talk football. I mean I know Sheffield has two football teams but if you want to talk of a real rivalry then look no further than Glasgow where I used to live for in excess of a decade. For all the hatred they had for eachother I could still go online as an adopted Celtic fan and talk football in depth and have a good laugh and a joke. I dont know this Pete bloke but he seems very respected looking at the messages and he speaks some good sense looking at what he has written today. Maybe he should moderate or something as it looks like this message board definitely needs some wise old head to kick it back into gear again. I'm a blade and I'm not just on about Owls either it's both sides of the fence and as an outsider it dont really attract me to come and contribute. In fact it is rather comical but not in a good way. Come on dudes we invented football in our city and we have two bloody good football teams (debatable ) but both are financially secure and looking upwards as opposed to downwards where we both have been in recent years. Click out of it and have some serious chit chat and banter and who knows I and many others might just join in.
  4. Why is this? Every decent player we have had over the last season or so you have have hoped to poach from us. I mean when Brayford came in and had a stormer for us your fans were saying how you should sign him and take him from us. The truth of the matter is that we do not have to sell anyway as we have plenty of money around anyway and quite frankly if we did it wouldn't be to you lot in a million years. I do feel that you lot suddenly stand on stilts again and think you are ten tiers above us though. A bit of money around the place and suddenly the fans expect loads of big money signings. This is football therefore I wouldn't get your hopes up too much.
  5. Who was taken ill shortly before kick off in the stadium today and tragically passed away a short while later in hospital. Absolutely devastating to see that another fan has attended the game they love only to not return home again. I'm not sure if anyone who knows this chap uses this board but please accept my sincerest thoughts.
  6. Was glad to see the blue half of Sheffield break Steve Evans heart today. Wouldn't usually want to see you win but you have nothing to play for now this year and I can't stand that bloody clown so hopefully that will contribute to a Millers relegation fingers crossed.
  7. Why would they be? Why is anyone bothered full stop? It is a one off celebration on 125 years as a football club. A kit designed to replicate the one we had back at the start of our existence and the badge our very first recordable one in history. It is for one year that is all and is meant to be a celebration. Get down off your high horses and celebrate our club. The thing that matters most is how the players wearing the shirt perform. ps - dont forget to get on ebay and bid for today's shirts as well. All of the money raised for British Heart Foundation in memory of Shred. A real win / win, celebrate a true blades legend while supporting a wonderful charity.
  8. I know there have been threads about the developments as a whole however I am just talking about this section and junction in particular which in my opinion has been planned terribly and could causes issues in the future. As a professional driver I go all over Sheffield and have used this junction a good few times since it has been changed and the bus lane has appears to be causing a good few issues already as cars don't have much room to get into the lane to turn left and the little space available is usually occupied by buses meaning that cars have to sit waiting in the middle lane in order to turn up Bamforth. In fact on one occasion a car wanted to turn left but couldn't get in therefore had to break and what with the lights being on green another car nearly ploughed into the back of it. Surely if this junction is to work, cars should be allowed to enter the bus lane sooner?.
  9. Yes you are right there are other ways to enter the city. I mean it doesn't have to be Malin Bridge does it they could also opt to commute down towards the accident spot that is rivelin and on to the heavily congested A57 at Crosspool. Argue it all you want the truth is that the majority of buyers will be commuting in to Sheffield and this area would need significant improvements to accommodate 88 more houses ie doctors, roads, schools, etc.
  10. Just said this on the radio. Next seasons adidas home kit will be revealed today and the team will play in it against Port Vale. The shirts will then be auctioned via Ebay and all of the money raised will go to British Heart Foundation in memory of Blades legend Shred.
  11. I completely agree with your concerns Woofy. I feel that such heavy development on the site would be nothing short of overkill and as a whole would negatively impact the surrounding areas. As a professional driver I am also concerned surrounding the additional congestion around the Malin Bridge area as a result of the development. Whether commuters take Loxley Road or down through Stannington it would mean more traffic in this area which is already bad enough during rush hour.
