20 mph Speed Limit in Stannington
outdoors replied to Tobyjug's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Looking at the map it seems the whole of Stannington will be affected, starting at Wood Lane up to the village & down Myers Grove Lane. The area down to Rivelin Valley Road & Liberty Hill. Also roads around the park. New limits will be indicated by signs & road markings. No speed bumps as they're too expensive. It's also being introduced in eleven other areas. Hope this helps. -
I knew you had to do it before noon Smithy , but didn't know about the rest. You learn something new every day.

Dont worry Moonbird, it's hardly a squeeze & a slight tap . Don't get the idea it's like assault and battery........it's all very playful.

What's Swallownest/Aston like to live in?
outdoors replied to badhairdo's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
Hi Longy. I always felt safe at night, even on the odd occasion when I forgot to lock my door. There are quite a few 'gennels' connecting the various roads, but I didn't feel the need to keep looking over my shoulder when using them even late at night. In my opinion it's a very nice area, the houses seem very well built. This is only my opinion & others may have a different view, but I enjoyed my time there. Good luck whatever you decide. -
What's Swallownest/Aston like to live in?
outdoors replied to badhairdo's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
Hi Longy. I lived on the older part of the estate (Collingham Road) until march this year. It always seemed nice & quiet with no problems that I ever heard about. Five minutes walk to the shops & plenty of supermarkets a 15 minute drive away.M1 crystal peaks & rothervalley on the doorstep. Dont know about the schools but I'm sure they'd be o.k. -

Winking Willys, on the front opposite the harbour. Was there recently, always plenty of customers inside. Nice fish 'n chips, we always go there. Enjoy your weekend. -

John & Jim Myers , remember them both from school. Both a bit quick with the deliveries if I remember rightly, couple of nice lads as well. -

outdoors replied to sheffieldcat's topic in Sheffield Property & Housing
After having a s.a.e. returned , I managed to get an online receipt from their website. What does anyone do if they haven't got access to a computer.Thank goodness I won't have to deal with them anymore......and all for £10 ground rent. -

Hi sheffieldcat. This comes as no surprise as I was quoted £60 for a receipt as proof of payment of ground rent during my recent property sale.E&M are just greedy. -
I went to Meynell Road 51-61 and remember most of the teachers mentioned, plus a few more.
