  1. You seem to think that there's some difference between an act of parliament and a law. You don't also believe in the "freeman on the land" nonsense do you?

Didn't you know this? that is why you will here in a court something like "contrary to the road traffic act bla bla bla" (act of Paliment) and contrary to common law (criminal law).

You will never go before the crown court for an act as these are held in a commercial court (A magistrate court) a sort of mixture between the county court and privet prosecutions held by the CPS (usualy criminal) and Councils (privet as they are a limited company)

You can hire the court yourself if you have the cash and prosicute who ever you like

However a magistrate can not operate in a commercial capacity if under oath and should only hear arguments put before the court. a referee if you will.

A magistrate can however imprison someone if they surrender, create joinder or give consent to the court.

And no i'm not a freeman you don't have to be a "freeman" to know your rights

    No Harm

    No Loss (including fraud)

    No injury

    No beach of the peace

Stick to those principals and you will never be a criminal. everything else is just an act of parliament. a collar around the neck to keep people under control and in servitude.

But hay your as free as you think you are right? oh and for a crime to be committed, there has to be an injured party.

  2. So are you saying only certain prisoners could vote?

No I'm saying that all prisoners should vote. Prisoners have family and kids too.

Besides most of the pedophiles are out of prison. you know the people that work in respectable jobs and VOTE. Politicians, Council workers, Social workers, schools, you know, all the good working people oh and did i mention the BBC The South Yorkshire police and the Met see to that for you and you pay for it in your council Tax and licenses. You know, all the good working people

  3. No! I also think that prisoner should vote too.

Now I Know your just waiting to jump on this, but here me out.

Just say the government bring out a new act and decides to send all unemployed to the gas chamber. Now... ...Your working what would this mean to you? nothing. Why would it?

Now how do Pensioners, Disabled, Mentally handicapped, Your Son, Daughter, Grandchildren who as things are going will never have a job, stop this?

You couldn't because we would be living in Nazi Germany!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who are you to say that someone, anyone, should not be listened too.

as far a prisoners are concerned may be the time they serve is based on an act, A rule of government (NOT A LAW) something that can change with the consent of the governed.

If the individual incarcerated was able to vote, he may be able to change the act that incarcerated him so that it could not happen to others.

I will give an example, The suicide act 1961 decriminalized the act of suicide for which you could receive a sentence equivalent to homicide/murder.

A stupid law made by unintelligent ill-informed bunch of pricks brought this in. of course now we all know now that compassion and understanding can give these people i good productive life.

Unfortunately at the time these individuals knew that imprisoning them would not help and just instilled misery.

If they could have voted they would have VALUE not just to them selves but for future generations to come.

  4. Hi there J's Mum, Let me first start by saying, being alone is simply a state of mind. Not that your fears are simple but it seems from what you have said, you have time to explore other activities.

There are so many groups and volunteer organizations that would welcome you and will expand your the circles you move around in.

Try looking for things that interest YOU. For example an allotment would be a good place to start if you have time on your hands. You can find that there is a great comradeship between plot holders.

Maybe look at some of the dreams you had an reinvent them.

It's not an easy question to answer and I'm sure that when you come out the other side you will be wiser and more confident

My heart is with you and all my best wishes

    x

  5. I wasnt saying you did. The question mark means it was a question.

This is the problem getting your point across sometimes. Some don't even read the thread before... ...how was it put?... ...ah yes frothing at the mouth lol:hihi:

There maybe not at be lot agree with us WeedNoMore but they fall down every-time the sheep try to make a point.

  6. I would imagine the council will be increasing council tax to fund these power hungry devices ;)

    ---------- Post added 19-03-2015 at 13:39 ----------

In all fairness, judging by the amount of frothing at the mouth he is doing on here about the issue, I suspect that's the distraction. All that frothing must play havoc with his line of sight :)

So you missed the point, that's ok. Guess being lead around is better than thinking for yourselves but it's not for me.

Maybe it should say "look at me i'm a sign" or "stupid driver approaching" or "You could have provided a child with a foster home if you hadn't bought me" lol

    Be safe out there

  7. The messages on the boards are about emissions which come from Transport, not anything else, like power generation.

The signs are not "sucking up electricity 24/7", they only use any when they are switched on, which is only when there is something to say.

The signs were funded by the EU, all the Council pays for is maintenance and the electricity. Most major cities have such signing.

When they are switched on only when there is something to say, Say something useful

Funded by the EU? Paid for by us. Not the Council.

The council are very good at spending our money. Just a shame its not put to good use.

If it was attached to their own personal electric meter I think it may come on only when necessary.

  8. How many accidents have been directly caused by someone looking at the information on a matrix sign in Sheffield, please?

    I don't know do you?

How many accidents have you had?

    Who was at fault?

Would you tell your insurance you where distracted?

If you were distracted that would mean you were be driving without due care and attention.

Who going to admit that? Would you? facing loss of license heavy fine or even imprisonment?

or would you say it was just an accident that just happened. no ones fault?

I don't think that would be much consolation to anyone family that was injured or even killed.

When everyone has picked up the peaces of their lives the Sign will still be there giving useless info and more distraction.

You would be ultimately reasonable not SSC

  9. It causes animosity from you clearly, but I can't see many others here agreeing with you.

We wouldn't get far if we only promoted initiatives which had 100% support.

Many people don't fully understand the air quality issues, so anything which promotes wider understanding and discussion isn't a bad thing is it?

100% agreement would be boring, I'll give you that.

I does however concern me that a sign at the side of the road that is meant to distract you to give information as to the driving conditions, is used for pointless statistics and messages that doesn't make the road safer.

It also concerns me that some people don't think this way.

I really hope for everyone to be safe out there on our busy roads.

  10. Change insurers. One thing i always do is shop around at every renewal and ive never stayed with the same company two years in a row as they always charge you more for your loyalty. The last 4 years ive swapped between Tesco and Kwik Fit and its always been cheaper to swap. :)

    ---------- Post added 19-03-2015 at 11:27 ----------

I think I've reached the limit of discounts, change this year to a new insurer but this was the lowest quote i could get for fully comp. Ironically it 1s only £20 cheaper than when i got insured in 1995. Fully comp it not what i used to be.

  11. Troll? I'm asking you for evidence that these messages cause road traffic incidents. Either put up or shut up.

"How do i know this you might ask. Because if it didn't we wouldn't be discussing if not it would we?"

It's not proof it's... ...wait for it... ... IT'S COMMON SENSE!! LOL!!!

Now Troll! Don't you think that you telling me to shut up on a forum is somewhat an oxymoron?

This is for people to give their opinions and to speak is it not?

You really need to read all comments, try to open your mind a little.

    Peace out again

  12. The messages on the VMS signs are part of a wider campaign, there are posters on the backs of buses and civic information signs etc.

You may feel that the messages are unnecessary, but others clearly disagree. The messages are promoting a debate, which is good.

Using the signs for displaying these kinds of message is allowed under government guidance. They are a sign like any other and you ought to be able to read them and take in the information without it distracting you from making safe progress. You safely read and take in the information from many signs on every journey you make. Why are these any different?

The information is not necessary, maintained by us paid for by us and causes animosity the very fact that this is a debate shows this. I have no problem with road traffic information. Anything that could make our journey safer, avoid congestion and collisions is good in my book.

If Big brother, namely SSC feels it is necessary to inform the public of a potential hazards regarding pollution and fuel types then surely they should be giving all the information so that we can make informed choices and not give byte size bits of info. THIS DISTRACTS DRIVERS.

How do i know this you might ask. Because if it didn't we wouldn't be discussing if not it would we?

  13. You must be crashing your car all the time then to look at those advertising hoardings along the road.

No Mate, I try to keep my eyes on the road whilst driving. don't want to lose my 19yrs NCB however my insurance goes up at least £30 per year maybe the reason is everyone else is crashing looking at those signs as per your comment.

  14. Of course, a message warning that [insert name of road] is closed this weekend could also be a "distraction"

I see where your going, however the signage that was displayed at the time was unnecessary to the quality of my driving and distracts from the task ahead.

sorry if you feel this is acceptable but I hope no one gets injured by a distracted driver just because someone is telling you how to live your life. Like i said there are more appropriate forums ie, TV, Radio, News papers, social networking, MP's, EMP's, Post, or even in you licensing renewal, all available to the authorities to raise and or discuss the issue with no potential of loss of life.

  15. How have you decided that it's a misuse?

I don't understand your statement about opinions. Firstly, is the bureaucrat not a person? Secondly, was the message trying to set an opinion?

If it's not an opinion of some (PERSON) then is it an order? Or did the SCC commuter just decide that this should be displayed? lol

Yes of coarse a bureaucrat is a person, in this case a person given a little power by the governed people, a Civil servant in this case. Some one whom is put in a position of trust to perform tasks in the interests and well being of the public. I think a forum is an appropriate place to put an opinion? don't you?

Any distraction at the side of the road is a potential danger to both road uses and pedestrians alike. If its potential could distract then is this in the interest and well being of the public?

Have you seen the signs your self?

  16. You object to paying for a few seconds of typing and the signs being made use of when there is no traffic information to report?

I object to the misuse of the signs. Opinions should be set by the people not by some jumped up bureaucrat that thinks he or she has the right to abuse a system that is dedicated to helping traffic flow NOT to distract drivers from there objectives.

Oh and Chuck Norris would destroy the matrix lol
