  1. Harmonica, Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo, Ukulele, lap steel player/teacher. I've played with musicians in a wide variety of genres live and in the studio. I'm looking for people, projects or bands, something new or established, to make great music with. Any questions just ask!
  2. I'm looking to start an acoustic group - the initial idea is to model it on the Bluesy String Bands/Jug Bands/Washboard Bands - virtuosic, intense but good time music. But open to a Tom Waits influence, the use of pedals etc or whatever people want to bring. Plus just a love of early Blues/Folk stuff. Nothing too polished. Originals are very welcome. I don't want to be some English guy trying to copy this music note for note, it's just great music and a good place to start! I have other ideas but I much prefer to let everyone chip in and see where it takes us! So I'm looking for singers, guitarists, bassists, fiddlers, ukeists, banjoers, mandolinists, horn players, percussionists and anything else as long as you love the music. I play harmonica, mandolin, ukulele, banjo, guitar and some other bits and pieces. I'm not precious about being the only one playing any of those instruments! (except perhaps the harmonica!) Any questions please ask - on here or by email. Ian. Harmanjolist@gmail.com
  3. Hello! I give Ukulele, Harmonica, Mandolin & Banjo lessons based at Haggler's Corner on Queen's Rd but I can travel to you if it works for us both. I teach students of all levels and all ages such as complete beginners, people learning a second instrument, people looking to refresh their knowledge, people moving on from group lessons and gigging musicians wanting an intense focus on a single topic, like Improvisation or Theory. If you are interested please get in touch and we can get started, if you aren't sure get in touch as well and we can discuss it to see what suits you (either reply to this message, message me on this account, message me on my page or email me - details below). And if you aren't interested at all, please still press that Share button as you may know someone who is! Email - harmanjolist@gmail.com FB Page - http://www.facebook.com/harmanjolist
  4. Hi, I am looking for any bands to play with - either as a one off for recording or on a more regular basis I play harmonica mandolin banjo ukulele and guitar.I also sing backing vocals. I have played with bands/musicians that cover a massive range of genres/styles - even in the face of doubt about what I play fitting in. I have years of experience and love playing live. Post a reply or send me a message if you have any questions or if you think you can make use of me.

  6. Hi, I am a harmonica/mandolin/banjo player and I am looking for a singer/guitarist to form a duo. I have a lot of experience playing with singer/songwriters, and it is something I love to do. *Also, if there is anyone out there interested I am very keen to get a guitar/harp blues duo in the Terry/Mcghee sort of style but not limited to that sort of blues. I would also be very interested in a guitar/mandolin/harmonies group in the vein of the Monroe Brothers, Louvin Brother, Chris Thile's duo thing, Gracia Grisman etc Send me a PM/email/text if you are interested in anything mentioned or any other project or if you have any questions. 7. Hi, I am looking for a percussionist (but not limited to that - if you play a different instrument and it sounds like something you would be into please get in touch!). I play harmonica, mandolin and harmonica - the music is instrumental, with plenty of improvisation thrown in - I currently play it solo, and have found an extremely positive response from audiences but feel a percussionist and/or bass player will take it to a new level and give the music a boost. The music takes elements of Blues, Folk, Bluegrass, Jazz, Klezmer - and I would be very open to incorporating any new sounds or elements new members bring. It's not music that is going to make you rich but it is a I will be in the studio soon but currently don't have any decent demos but for a vague idea of the kind of music I'm talking about it have a listen to the following sort of artists - John Fahey, David Grisman, Sonny Terry, Marianno Massolo, Jacob Do Bandolim, Andy Statman,* Howard Levy, Thelonious Monk, Tim Sparks, Robbie Bashio, Mike Marshall etc If your interested or have any questions get in touch here or via email - harmanjolist@gmail.com Thanks
  8. A keyboard player would be amazing! I'll send a PM to discuss.
  9. I am mandolin/harp player looking to form (or join) an acoustic klezmer/jazz band - if you have questions or think you might be interested please get in touch! Harmanjolist@Gmail.com 07522429175
  10. Sounds absolutely perfect for me, I'll send a PM to discuss more details.
  11. I am a Harmonica, Mandolin, Banjo, Lap Steel, Guitar player (I also play live effect pedal 'soundscapes' and I am an occasional bass player). I am looking to either start something new or join up with anyone looking for new members. I can play acoustic or electric, with a full and or as accompanist to a singer. I have years experience playing live, and in the studio - with bands and as a session musician. Please get in touch if you think I might be of some use! Harmanjolist@gmail.com 07522429175
  12. A string-band jazz -klez orchestra would be a hell of a thing, enough people and we could add some Yiddish swing to Wagner, but that would be a whole different project. I was thinking more in the duo - quintet area. But certainly wouldn't turn down people on number grounds...but I can't see there being enough crazies for that to be an issue!
  13. I am setting up an acoustic instrumental 'Jazz' band similar to/influenced by artists like David Grisman, Chris Thile, Andy Statman, Django, Bela Fleck, Edgar Meyer, Frank London, Stephane Grappelli, Mariano Massolo, Jacob Do Banddolim etc etc – taking elements of Gypsy jazz, Klezmer, Choro, Classical, Baltic, Blues and Hard Bop (and anything we fancy) – I have some compositions ready, and ideas for standards/covers but would be more than happy for any member to write material – and I would be looking for improvisation to be a big part of the sound. Instrument wise I am open to anything – if it sounds like something you would enjoy and be passionate about get in touch! Although the intial description says acoustic/instrumental any electric players or vocalists who feel it is something they would love to do please get in touch as well. I will be playing Mandolin & Harmonica – possibly banjo and lap steel as well. This is something I am very passionate about and I am keen fine other people who are – regardless of age or any other factor! I can't promise any riches at this point – but it would be something that I'd want to getting gigging, and touring, as far and as wide as we could go! I have a rehearsal room, experience in the business, contacts and all that stuff that everyone promises! Please get in touch if you have any questions or if you are interested (details below) – preferably by email/text but a PM/reply is more than welcome.
