  1. In learnt to swim in Corporation Street Baths in the late 50's taught by a Mr Baker, father of a friend and Secretary of the ROF Sports Club. A group of us used to go every Tuesday night and then to the pub.
  2. I was there between 55 and 59. Adams was Head, Miss Beech was my first teacher also Walker and Chalky. Wasn't Bennet the "Medicine Man". Is the flag pole at the front of the school still standing, Ken Chatten plus 2 names a I can't remember and myself constructed the steel foundations.
  3. Thanks, Very interesting, does jog a few memories.
  4. I lived at 94 Woodseats Rd from about 1949 to 57. Went to Woodseats School and on to Jordanthorpe, now that was a good walk on a cold wet morning. Friends I remenber are John Baker, Ken Chatten, Pete Thorpe, Trevor Copley, John Harrison, Robert Carlton, Pat Pogamoor and also a lad called Phillip who lived on corner of Woodseats and Todwick Rd. Many happy hours spent in Barbers Field and the old brick quarry and like Colinsfoot I also went sledging and played football in Smithwood Cresent. What about the bonfire we used to have on the spare land half way up Woodseats Rd between Smithywood Cres and Todwick Rd. Did any of you ever go "Wall Hoping"? Dave Walker
  5. Living on Woodseats Rd between Ulverston and Smithy Wood Cres the only takeaways were Pie & Pea Shop at bottom of Woodseats Rd, Chipy on Abbeydale Rd and one near Woodseats Police Station on Chesterfield Rd. Pie and Peas were my favorite.
  6. Hi, I left Sheffield in 70s used to live in Woodseats area in 40s and 50s. just wondered how its changed and if any of my old friends are still about.
