  2. Hi, Could anyone advise me where I could purchase disposable table clothes from in Sheffield for an upcoming party? It is quite urgent. Thank you very much
  3. Hi, I am in search of an Indian store in Sheffield that sells Urid flour/Urad flour/Papad flour. Can't seem to find any!!! Usually South Indian store sell them. It is flour made of urid/urad dal (black gram lentil). This is an important ingredient for preparing idli and dosa ,the popular south Indian dishes. I usually purchase it for around £3-4 pr kg but since moving to Sheffield I haven't been able to find it anywhere. Just ordered some online and it costs freaking £10 for just a kg!!! So really hope I can find it here in Sheffield as I need my South Indian dishes Thank you
  4. Hi Chris, Thank you for your website and for your interest. I have messaged you on your website ---------- Post added 18-01-2015 at 22:48 ---------- Hi, I have found a photographer so this thread is closed now. Thank you for your interest and time
  5. Hi, Just wondering if there are any talented Photography students who would be interested in taking some photos for me during a family event? If so, please could you pass me your contact details and also let me know how much you would charge pr hour? If I am interested I'll get in touch and we could discuss it further. Thank you for your time and interest
  6. Perhaps it is just their star sign?
  7. Hi, there is a kickboxing-based fitness class (not kickboxing class bit fitness class!) in Sharrow (Old Junior School). I used to attend the class and it was a great fitness class. I have health issues too but instructor was really a warm and friendly person who was ever so supportive and let me do things at my phase if I was struggling. The group was friendly too
  8. I have been on my own with my kiddo for Christmas, New year ect for many years now. It is a relief in a way and try to make the most out of it but at the same time could feel bit lonely/emotional too. I have been thinking it would be nice for a group of TRUSTWORTHY people who would usually spend Christmas alone to meet up as a group and celebrate together! Especially us single parents. That way, all the kids could have fun together and us adult could enjoy some well-deserved adult company too
  9. Hi Just wondering if there are any South Indian/Srilankan in Sheffield who have a music band or like to form a band? I used to take up Carnatic vocal lessons plus be the female lead singer in a former Tamil band in the past....which is now ages ago!! But I still have a passion for music and singing so just wondered if there were anyone else with same interest who would like to form a band, just as a hobby? Look forward to hearing from you

  11. Than you all Hope you are having a wonderful festive season. Wishing you each and everyone of you all the very best for the new year Stay safe!
  12. Thank you all again @Medusa, those were extremely helpful points But please clarify for me what you mean by "- no filling the card with words- to prompt you the key points of your presentation". I am bit confused about it. Thanks If you like to hear about my research whenever you or any other science graduates are free in the future to listen to me ramble on about my thesis then feel free to contact me My viva isn't until June in the new year.
  13. Hi again Thank you to you all. I really appreciate your time and advice - found it very helpful I am aware that it is more or less like an interview but even an interview FEELS like doing a presentation/public speaking to me. Hence why I struggle a lot during interviews as well Even though I know the answer to each question my mind just goes blank and I start stuttering when I find them all starring at me :/ I admit it used to be a matter of confidence during my childhood however this is no longer the case as I am usually fine now. I just don't like to be on the spot and definitely not with people I don't feel comfortable with (strangers). As I said earlier there have been times where I had to do presentations several times in a month on a weekly basis as part of a project. I was a bit nervous but not anxious. So I believe that once I keep practicing it, it will help me during my viva. So @Janus, your suggestion has been very helpful and I am going to try it out Thank you @tzijlstra: Hi "Dear Fellow PhD facing a Viva pretty soon" ! I wish you all the very best with your viva:)
  14. @cgksheff, Thank you I will check with them. I have already spoken to the course director about this as he once offered me to work with the undergrad. as a visiting lecturer and I told him I couldn't because of this. I have also talked about my anxiety regarding the viva and he advised me the best thing would be to keep practicing some public speaking and also do a "mock viva" @Binster, Thank you My PhD is in Psychology. I like the idea and will look into it Thank you to you both for your time and advice Enjoy the rest of your day
  15. I have not been on this site for a long time now so only saw the notification today when I logged in. My job was only a temporary position so back job-hunting again Merry Christmas and Happy New Year x P.S. To Margy: Thank you so much once again. It is not letting me reply to your message as I am new on here but just like to say thank you for your kind offer.
