  1. Hello all, I need help! Are there any local musicians out there (singers, lyricists, violin/viola, guitar players etc.) who'd like to get together with a fingerstyle guitarist to write some songs? Been playing solo for too long and in need of some external input and inspiration! Have a listen and I'm sure you'll agree it needs something... Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks! Cheers Chris http://www.myspace.com/chrismcgaw
  2. Good night last week Heliman, thanks for coming down... I can't do anything for a few weeks now as I'm off on my cycling expedition but will get in touch when I get back by which time I'm sure there'll be hordes of us! Just to shamelessly plug my fundraising page again (money going to 'Save the Children'). It's dead simple to donate and it's all secure if anyone feels the inclination... http://www.justgiving.com/chrismcgaw Thanks in advance! See you soon if I survive Cheers Chris http://www.myspace.com/chrismcgaw
  3. Right, I've found us a corner of a nice pub we're allowed to use if we're not too loud and there's not too many of us (should be good for the first few times anyway, and it's free). If anyone wants to join me this thursday let me know and I'll PM you the pub and address (it's up Hunters Bar way - hope that's not a problem). Hope to see a few of you there, Cheers Chris http://www.myspace.com/chrismcgaw
  4. I think leaving it a week will give people more notice (and Crayfish is busy this thursday) and will also give us more chance to seek out alternative venues. I suggest a week on thursday... Chris http://www.myspace.com/chrismcgaw http://www.justgiving.com/chrismcgaw
  5. I think we have to start small and see how it all goes. If perhaps 3 or 4 of us were to get together and kick it all off then hopefully more will jump aboard once we're rolling. Sounds like a few of us are able to make it next thursday so shall we give it a bash? The attic rooms are a great idea but I'll still pursue the pub research as it would mean we wouldn't have to book ahead... or there's room at my place to accommodate a few until we get going? Cheers Chris http://www.myspace.com/chrismcgaw
  6. Hello all. I'm cycling from John O'Groats to Lands End in a few weeks time and trying to raise some money for 'Save the Children' along the way. Just thought I'd throw this out in the hope that some of you generous and warm-hearted lot would like to sponsor me. Any amount would be very much appreciated and you can donate at the page below. I'll post a reply to this when it's all done and hopefully attach some photos to prove I actually did it! http://www.justgiving.com/chrismcgaw Many thanks in advance for your support! Cheers and all the best Chris http://www.myspace.com/chrismcgaw
  7. The Sheffield Walking Group are a friendly bunch and they have a good social programme too, which is always good...
  8. You could try the university's Latin American Society...
  9. Definitely be up for this... you can set up a sponsorsip form online too to make it easy for people to donate.
  10. Here's the address Heliman... The Lion Works, Ball St, Sheffield . S3 8DB. 0114 2789951 info@atticrecordingstudios.co.uk On another matter entirely does anyone fancy sponsoring me on my charity cycle ride from John O'Groats to Lands End next month? Please see below for details. Any help would be very much appreciated. http://www.justgiving.com/chrismcgaw Thanks very much! Chris
  11. Definitely still up for this and more than willing to chip in on the rehearsal room fee. How about we try and mobilise everyone for next thursday evenin (17th)?
  12. Thursdays sound good to me too. I shall continue my search for an accommodating pub in the meantime... Cheers Chris
  13. Please do by all means, as long as we can find somewhere to play! Just been down to the Lescar and the landlord's unwilling to give us the backroom unfortunately but has suggested we come along to the monthly 'jam' night - next one Sep 9th - and we could maybe have an hour or so to ourselves. Not ideal but I'll keep looking in the meantime and we might be able to twist his arm. As a last resort my house could accommodate half a dozen fairly comfortably? Chris
  14. Seeing that last post has prompted me to paste in my own myspace link so here goes (nice playing by the way Fretlessbass!). I hope it doesn't put anyone off! Don't laugh too loud or I'll hear you! Cheers Chris http://www.myspace.com/chrismcgaw
  15. Blimey! Not looked in for a few days and things have moved on a fair bit. So we're up to weekends in a pub somewhere. I'll pop down my local (The Lescar) as they have a back room that they might let us use. How about over Hillsborough way (WeeKathy and Crayfish)? Anywhere you guys can think of? Must stress that I for one am not used to playing in public either and hope that the idea of us meeting up is to just have a very informal and relaxed jam in the first instance. I'm a little daunted myself with guitar teachers on board! Will report back when I return from the pub... Cheers Chris
