  1. So as more jobs are created and less folk are out of work that percentage will get higher. By creating full employment it would become 10 out of 10. You probably should actually consider what is a good thing and a bad one before you start banding statistics.
  2. My eyes are wide open. Just like the Sevenstones developers who pulled out of Sheffield's city centre development. They invested in Leeds instead.
  3. Or perhaps 100 business leaders thought their businesses would prosper with Tory policies. Judging by the way the stock markets have risen today they seem to have a point.
  4. So will I. Socialists who pray for our economy to bomb because Labour are not in power are the main reason why investors do not invest in South Yorkshire.
  5. I seem to remember Ed Balls claiming that was about to happen for the last 5 years. He talked such tripe he's out on his aris. The UK has the best growth in the G7. The stock markets went up on the news that Labour had lost as did the value of Sterling. They are rather better indicators of our financial viability than someone suffering from sour grapes. :hihi:
  6. It was in the Tory manifesto again in 2015.
  7. Increasing the threshold at which folk actually start to pay income tax wasn't a bad start.
  8. We hit the wall head on in 2007. Fortunately the coalition turned up with the emergency services in2010 and are clearing up the mess.
  9. But on the other hand. If Labour hadn't put up such a pair of useless losers they might have been in no 10 and no 11. It is just fortunate that the party keep selecting them. Michael Foot, Neil Kinnock, Gordon Brown, Ed Miliband... There has only been Tony Blair in the last 35 years who was capable of winning an election for Labour and They hate him for being a Tory. Long may it continue.
  10. He can't remain leader of the Libdems if he intends to be in Cameron's cabinet. ---------- Post added 08-05-2015 at 14:50 ---------- Bit much you vote for Miliband, then he goes and resigns..
  11. I note that the Conservatives have the same number of MPs in Scotland as Labour. It seems it was Labour and the Libdems they wanted rid of. The anti-Tory swing was tiny in comparison.
  12. There is also a case of Labour being led by a pillock. As was the case with Kinnock the face haunts you as you stand at the ballot box pencil in hand.
  13. No worries. It is just a matter of time. ---------- Post added 08-05-2015 at 10:09 ---------- Why would it mean a by-election? ---------- Post added 08-05-2015 at 10:10 ---------- Almost as much as we will miss Miliband. I hear that he is about to fall on his sword.
  14. Do the Libdems still have any support? He was elected because he was a cabinet minister and united the anti Labour vote. If he stood as a Tory his opposition would be an untried Libdem and a Labour candidate that the local wouldn't support.
  15. In the City of London, shares are surging as traders welcome the election results. The FTSE 100 index of blue-chip shares soared 150 points at the open of trading, a gain of 2%. Centrica is up 6.5%, and several housebuilders have jumped 5%. Engineering firm Babcock, which holds a contract to build Trident submarines, has seen its shares rise almost 7%. And the pound is on track for its best day against the euro since 2009, up almost three cents at €1.381. Did I mention the sun is shining.
  16. Labour lost the election in 2010 when Miliband was forced onto them as leader.

  18. I don't think their is much future in a flip to UKIP. It seems to lead to a pretty short political career. But I could imagine Nick Clegg flipping to the Tories if his future in the Libdems looks bleak. I'm sure David Cameron would welcome another MP to his majority at the same time as removing one from the opposition. ---------- Post added 08-05-2015 at 08:56 ---------- Why not start a poll. "What month will see Miliband stand down?"
  19. Me too. It was a thought of mine that Clegg could stand down as Libdem leader and switch to the Tories. The point is that the folk of Hallam don't care about their MPs party just so long as it isn't Labour.
  20. It could become a favourite YouTube moment watching Ed Balls find out that he was unemployed. Sadly this is likely to hasten the departure of Miliband who did so much to help Cameron win the election.
  21. The best moment was watching Ed Balls find out that he was unemployed. Sadly this is likely to hasten the departure of Miliband who did so much to help Cameron win the election. ---------- Post added 08-05-2015 at 08:39 ---------- I bet Miliband does though.
  22. http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/may/08/ed-milibands-political-future-hanging-in-the-balance-top-labour-figures-say Calls for Ed Miliband to resign as recriminations begin in Labour camp With shock exit poll suggesting Labour will lose seats, including almost total wipeout in Scotland, party sources are already talking of Harriet Harman as caretaker leader ---------- Post added 08-05-2015 at 07:33 ---------- Don't forget those boundary changes.
