  1. So you would be happy with a Conservative UKIP coalition as they would be well set with more than half of the total votes cast?
  2. I think you have upset a bad loser. The type who only want democracy when they win.
  3. I certainly could. If they had all voted Libdem or UKIP we could have wiped Labour out in Sheffield and Rotherham. ---------- Post added 10-05-2015 at 16:20 ---------- So how's Sevenstones doing at the moment.
  4. There have been several Labour MPs locally who have lost their seats, not through the ballot box, but because their faces didn't fit with the prevailing leadership of the party.
  5. So perhaps it would be a good idea to get our government to re-negociate our membership conditions in the EU.
  6. Just to be clear. Since 2010 the Scottish people have voted out of office 98% of Miliband's Labour MPs. They have voted out of office 90% of Clegg's Libdem MPs. They still have 100% of Cameron's Tory MPs. Just what are you claiming they are lashing out at?
  7. ????????????????????? ---------- Post added 10-05-2015 at 08:48 ---------- The Scots voted in a referendum that they wanted to be part of the union. They voted in a general election that they didn't want Miliband in charge of that union. There are one or two round here that did and haven't quite got to grips with the facts yet.
  8. This thread is so funny. All the lefties are going to clear off because they lost the election. If only.:hihi:
  9. I'm not sure what you are trying to prove with those meaningless links. The audited figures from the electoral commission show donations for the full year to Labour £26.38 million and Conservative £29.13 million. It seems the Conservatives obtained rather better value for money.
  10. I really am struggling with the concept that putting bankers in prison would somehow clear up the financial difficulties the country faces. ---------- Post added 09-05-2015 at 16:39 ---------- Oddly enough the boundaries are determined by an independent board and the government have no input. But don't let the facts get in the way of a good conspiracy theory.
  11. The country doesn't have the resources. Labour screwed up the economy and expanded the public sector money pit beyond the countries resources. It takes time to clear up a train crash despite the UK having one of the best performing economies in the developed world. Fortunately outside of South Yorkshire the majority of voters know this. That's why they just elected a majority Tory government and Ed Miliband and Ed Balls are history.
  12. It's not surprising in a bunch of folk who thought Ed Miliband would make a Prime Minister, Ed Balls a chancellor and were prepared to serve under them. ---------- Post added 09-05-2015 at 16:01 ---------- It is pretty funny really. Anyone who is likely to appeal to those who appoint the leader is unlikely to appeal to the millions of voters who didn't vote for Miliband.
  13. You are so funny. You will be out there burning Thatchers effigy next. Fortunately for the country there are rather more sensible folk out there which is why 25% more folk voted for Cameron in England and Wales than voted for Miliband. If Milibands successor is as stupid as Miliband the sensible majority will keep Labour in opposition for decades, and the run down area of South Yorkshire will continue to fail to attract investment and become a wasteland. Enjoy the ride.
  14. The problem with PR arises when you don't put up a candidate in every seat. If you are a minor party and only contest one or two seats you could get 60% of the vote but still get stuck with an MP who is from a different country in the UK who doesn't care a jot about local issues. Northern Ireland springs to mind.
  15. You seem to imagine that the spending cuts are being made for the sake of it. The country is in massive debt and is still overspending massively. There isn't a political party that can carry on spending money we don't have. In the real world when you buy something on credit card the bill still needs paying.
  16. You probably need to get a grip on reality. The last Labour government was spending £171,000,000,000 per year more than they were collecting in tax to pay for it. You cannot carry on doing that. At some point folk who loan money want their money back. So far the cuts haven't even eliminated all that deficit. There isn't an alternative except default. We have just had a general election. In England & Wales the Tories got 25% more votes than Labour because most folk understand that you cannot keep bribing the electorate with spending we can't afford. There is a new reality that you will have to get used to.
  17. You do know that as many folk voted against the SNP in Scotland as voted for them?
  18. Or you can believe the Guardian. "Over the four full weeks of campaigning, Labour secured the most financial backing, receiving £4,658,499 – most of which came from unions – while the Conservatives were given £3,456,017. In the final week, the Liberal Democrats raised £89,000, Ukip £7,896 and the Green Party £10,000, the watchdog said. Over the entire “short” campaign, Ukip took in £1,614,312 and the Liberal Democrats £234,000."
  19. It is one hell of a swing. If you take Scotland out of the equation. In the whole of England and Wales the Tories took around 25% more votes than Labour. This in an election where UKIP is reconned to have taken a couple of million votes from the Tories.
  20. Someone told me that it was because Labour supporters are all on benefits and can't be bothered to get out of bed to vote. They just claim they will vote when someone rings. Although I think when the polsters rang here they got through to our gardener. It is however reassuring to think the Tories can go into an election neck and neck with Labour and still get 21% more votes.
  21. On the run up to the election Labour and Conservatives were neck and neck in the polls. The SNP were strong but no one could imagine that they would take 46 seats. When the exit poll came out no one believed it. But in the ballot the Tories took 21% more votes than Labour. How did the polls call it so so wrong?
  22. Indeed I was. Blair appealled to the left of the Tory party and took votes from them before Labour supporters realised he was pedalling Tory policies. When Brown swung the party away from being Tories they lost the Tory vote. So where now for Labour who polled 21% less votes than the Tories?
  23. It is hilarious. They try to go left wing and they lose England. They try to go right and lose Scotland. Things have moved on since Tony Blair managed to con the left that he was a Labour PM.
  24. Too well in fact. It rather relied on a Labour Government. The fact the SNP took seats off Labour rather shot their own goose.
