  1. I was just thinking that myself! Ah well, you try and help lol.
  2. Pardon? Most private sellers used the same phraseology in making their car more attractive for sale. Long Tax and Test was a marketing point. ---------- Post added 05-10-2014 at 01:33 ---------- Agreed David
  3. Not the case at all A big selling point is having a good amount of tax on the car, or was, like having a long MOT.
  4. I have trade plates and demo use How can the new buyer tax it straight away when the system fails?? Many buyers of cars are not internet savvy!! Not all buy from traders!! You get that? From what the DVLA have sent me, I can tax the car for them. Which makes a totally mockery of the whole system. Before, you buy the car and drive away, Now it is far more complicated
  5. Before this rubbish, that was not the case. Think about it How many people buying another car bring their laptops to buy a car? Obviously you have not tried to tax a car in the last few days of chaos!!
  6. I ride a bike myself, and I would never in a million years try and ride a bike in an environment with powered cars with people on mobiles adjusting lipstick etc on a bending road!! Like a roundabout!! I wouldn't walk down a train track either!! Same difference!!
  7. As a trader myself this new policy will probably fail. Half the populace know nothing about it (until it comes to sale time) and this is what makes it a shambles. Helping a customer yesterday online trying to tax her car we spent hours trying to resolve the issue. The DVLA knew about this since Dec last year so should have had some major infrastructure to deal with the 'load'. Good people want to stay legal (even if they are getting ripped off to drive a car for One or Two days after buying it near the end of the month) it's already hitting us hard because many buyers go on the length of the MOT and how much tax the car comes with it. The TAX should come with the car!! It was paid for!! What next? Non transferable MOT's or tyres??
  8. I really can't get my head around cyclist trying to negotiate the main roundabouts in Sheffield City center. It's almost like a death wish. Its bad enough in a under powered car in the rush hour!!
  9. Really not worth the hassle The old Norton Aerodrome driving center has re opened I believe from viewing on here. That would be the OP's best bet. Just have cushion under the seats for the rather large pot holes
  10. The ones that ride two abreast doing 10 MPH on Penistone Road growling at drivers? ---------- Post added 22-09-2014 at 18:41 ---------- Air horns save lifes!! ---------- Post added 22-09-2014 at 18:43 ---------- Air horns save lifes!!
  11. :D:thumbsup: To busy batter off all the complaints to notice!
  12. Literally it could be all of the above. Like others have said its almost impossible to give a definable answer. Far to many variables. Best bet is to hawk it around a few garages and get independent advice from a few different mechanics. Most good ones will have a quick look for free and then maybe you can finalize the given problem. Good luck!!
