  1. This is just my personal opinion of course, I prefer cameras with tilt and swivel LCD's. Very useful for doing portrait mode pics and where the tilt only and fixed LCD's fall flat on their faces. Have you considered a Panasonic G2 they are one of the best 4/3rds cameras quite inexpensive now and easily capable of producing an 18" x 12" poster print.
  2. I've been on various courses, City and Guilds, one day Photoshop stuff and they are great for teaching you how to use the equipment and software. I have learned more about image making from looking at the work of others, I find it impossible to go past a secondhand bookshop and occasionally find a photographic monograph for peanuts. One of the great things about photography is that you can copy the ideas of others ..... but ..... you have to use your own source material so the images will be uniquely yours. Cheers - Stan
  3. Hi I use Aldi: www DOT aldiphotos DOT co DOT uk their 12" x 8" prints are £0.34 plus postage. On glossy Fuji Crystal Archive paper. I just ordered 6 prints and paid (by PayPal) £3.37 including the postage. Calibrate your monitor using Calibrize: www DOT calibrize DOT com which is free. Cheers - Stan
