  1. I do not believe it is. However I believe it is the right of every man and woman to believe whatever he/she likes as long as those beliefs to not impinge on similar rights for others.
  2. I fully understand that many of the members of SF do not need education, they have a breadth of knowledge and experience that allows them to be the opinionated know alls that a high percentage are. No doubt you can enlighten my darkness as to the nuances and true meanings of the Koran? ---------- Post added 11-12-2015 at 15:55 ---------- We would all be better off without religion, but as that is not going to happen for a while maybe we should try to learn about it if only to protect ourselves. ---------- Post added 11-12-2015 at 16:02 ---------- I recently read a contribution fro a soldier who had been blown up by an IED in Afghanistan. I am paraphrasing but the gist of it was; I was blown up by a Muslim, I was airlifted to hospital by a Muslim pilot and tended to by a Muslim first responder, I was operated on by a Muslim surgeon, and nursed by Muslim nurses, my first physiotherapist was a Muslim. I hate a Muslim because of what he did to me. I am forever grateful to a lot more Muslims who transported me to safety, made me well and looked after me. I hate one man, if I could take my revenge I would, but only on him. I thank God or Allah or whatever his name is for placing me into the hands of saints.
  3. That is absolutely right, and because of that belief he should not be treated as an ordinary prisoner. Prison can work when the intention of the authorities is to reform and re integrate into society. I agree with others that a form of supermax has to be created where these people can be "stored". They are never going to be released, we will not use capital punishment again and if these motivated people get into the general prison population the infection of hatred they carry will spread.
  4. You defend your religion well. Dont rise to the bait of those who would provoke you. It would help us all if you, or someone who actually has studied Islam could enlighten us to the correct interpretation of your holy book.
  5. Well done the Prison Officer who knocked his teeth out. Just because we dont have a death penalty doesn't mean we cant take them to pieces a tooth at a time.
  6. Yes it does, it equates to the sum of the people who are currently fighting Assad and Daesh. They are a disparate group and unlikely to be as effective as properly resourced western troops with central control. To seek to equate Camerons statement with the crimes of Blair Brown and the Labour party is crass.
  7. I don't get Lib Dems, if I was in politics I would want to win. They seem to be content to be on the sidelines shouting to no effect or propping up coalitions that anyone with a brain would have realized would lead to their demise. Maybe its an S&M thing? ---------- Post added 08-12-2015 at 14:58 ---------- It is not a trend amongst the tories it is the act of one stupid attention seeker. Regarding Cameron and football teams X factor etc, he has a long way to go before he catches up with his Labour predecessors who lied to the nation about dodgy dossiers and started a war that may last a century. I am also pretty confident that he will never be seen in his white suit baptizing Murdochs infant in the river Jordan as Blair has done. You know, Blair who was for years the unassailbale leader of the Labour party.
  8. I have asked before but as there are a number of new subscribers will try again. Does the name David Frascati ring a bell? I met him some time ago, he is transgender and as of Occtober works in a piano bar in Tenerife. Went to Gregg in early 60s.
  9. Maybe you should stay in more. Youre not very good at the social stuff. Incidentally where the hell do you work? it sounds awful.
  10. Kate, if we did something similar at work we would, rightly, get the sack. We should be able to sack MPs who commit criminal acts. No party has an edge in morality or criminality, we vote for policies.
  11. Based upon your formula, 10 seconds in the green house would be a result.
  12. The answers generated by your question illustrate to me how lucky we are to live in this great country. No one will ever be condemned to live under canvas or in some trailer park as happens in the US, the richest country in the world. No one will be forced to beg as happens throughout the third world. Whilst life can be difficult there is always a roof over our heads and food on the table, a NHS if you are ill, a police service if you are under threat. Count your blessings.
  13. I do, idiocy is not entirely a leftist fault. Tories dont usually do daft things, they used to have a definite propensity for sexual malfeasance. Spanking, prostitutes, that sort of thing. Lib Dems have always had a hankering for illicit gay relationships, lots of Tommy Two ways if you follow. The sons of industry in the Labour party have usually just been corrupt. Seems like this Tory lady is a genuine crossbencher just plain stupid.
  14. Oh Dear politicians, never have we been so badly served. Once you get beyond Cameron, who will go down in history as a great PM also Osborne who is a great Chancellor, there is a dearth of talent. This silly woman is typical of the self seeking egotistic plonkers who we elect election after election. The Labour front bench is packed with has beens never wasses and never will bes. Tragic.
  15. I challenge the concept of the neo fascist parties being from "the right". Once you get past the racist nationalism it seems to me they are centrists who seem to wish to impose a command economy and control by dictat. This is as close to Maoist/Leninist as you can get. Albeit in thought rather than action, the extreme left has never espoused racism. The extreme right, it seems to me, is exemplified best in the US model, small government, low tax, self reliance, low/no welfare. Its downsides are selfishness, no gun control, extremes of wealth and poverty. Regarding the French situation and Le Pen. If she becomes President of France the situation becomes very dangerous for that country. However, from time to time things need to come to a head, and it may be that the only possible outcome is civil war, if that is the case, so be it. The USA needed the civil war to sort out the running sore of slavery, the French and others including ourselves may need to actually fight if we are to remove the cancerous curse of militant Islam from our shores.
  16. Some very interesting sensible contributions on this difficult subject. The Middle East has been in turmoil since the end of the Ottoman Empire. The concept of democracy is alien to most who live in the area. The dictators such as Gaddaffi Hussein Mubarak held the radical forces down but it was only a matter of time before this explosion of repressed Islamic revolution took place. Our contribution in adding to the bombing will be small, and I believe the time has come to stop debating the rights and wrongs of bombing and start to focus on how we are to protect ourselves at home. My fear is not of Deash or whatever they are called this week, we will beat them in the field there is no doubt about that. My fear is of the Sheffield based Muslim or Muslim influenced kid who is influenced by this death cults internet outpourings and is sat making his pipe bomb or seeking ways to obtain arms. That is our immediate problem and maybe one that we can share with a degree of agreement rather than trying to score debating points over something we can never hope to influence.
  17. Please remember that Cameron only lost the vote last time because Milliband stabbed him in the back. Milliband had agreed to support the action after being briefed by intelligence sources of the necessity to do so. When it came to the time he played politics, thought he could embarrass Cameron to the point of resignation. He failed. It shows what a chancer Milliband and his advisers were and are.
  18. I fully respect your comment and indeed share your feelings about making the country fairer. What I do not understand is how you come to the conclusion that the Labour party would achieve what we both seek. Blair and Brown did nothing to address the polarization of the UK into London and financial services Versus the rest of the UK and manufacturing, with a very heavy or unfair biase towards London and F/S, no fairness there. The Brown mantra of "no more boom and bust" and an overwhelming reliance on F/S actually led us into the biggest bust since 1929. There was no fairness here, all they did was support the corrupt banks and try to deny all knowledge. In the current Tory party you have people who lived through and were mentored by Thatcher and her top people, they saw the strengths and weaknesses of her regime which I accept was divisive and confrontational,(with good cause given the opposition she faced from the left). I believe Cameron and Osborne are one nation Tories. Who see fairness in giving people a fair chance, they have bashed the banks to the point where such as HSBC are considering leaving the UK, they have provided all workers with one of, if not the highest ,Minimum Wage in the developed world. Far above what Labour promised in their manifesto. Thy are practical, when they came into power our biggest trading partner was Republic of Ireland! We now have excellent trading links with all the emerging economies notably China and India. One Million jobs created in the coalition period and another million to come by 2020. The left disparage Osbornes idea of the Northern Powerhouse, they forget that it was the North that originally powered our nations prosperity and can do so again. No such initiative or dream was ever conjured up under Blair or Brown. One day this Tory party will run out of steam, all governments do, when that happens please god we will have an opposition capable of properly running the country. Until that time make the best of this one, and consider that fairness stems form prosperity, prosperity comes when we all work and contribute not when we whinge and expect others to create the wealth we require.
  19. Please explain why your mind is so closed to voting Tory? UKIP I understand, nutters to the core. The Tories gave you the first woman Prime Minister and the first black cabinet minister. Every time the Labour party has gone out of power it has left the country in economic chaos, the Tories have always left power with the books balanced. What is it about my party that you hate so much you could not contemplate voting for it? ---------- Post added 30-11-2015 at 15:57 ---------- A fiction, no "rich" person is better off due to Tory action, the national debt is a huge issue, its like turning the Queen Mary around. Labour left the economy an absolute basket case. It will take time to pay down the debt, the serious part e.g. the deficit is halved. More jobs, more houses, more prosperity under the Tories, its undeniable. ---------- Post added 30-11-2015 at 15:59 ---------- Read and learn my Labour friends read and learn.
  20. Labour, its all over, your goose is cooked, you have drunk in the last chance saloon, you are a dead parrot. All working people should now support the party who have created the fastest growing economy in the developed world, who have created over one million new jobs and will create a million more, who will build the houses, secure the borders, give you a choice on Europe. The Conservative Party.
  21. The obvious replacement is Osborne. He has done a very creditable job, I am particularly impressed by the way he reversed his decision on tax credits. I know its not fashionable for politicians to change their minds but to his credit he has listened to voices on his own back benches and made a sensible change. With 32million working, the fastest growing economy in the developed world and the deficit coming under control he is clearly the leading contender for the PMs job. The question is who replaces George?
  22. I spend a lot of time in London, Boris is very popular.
  23. Corbyn is a disaster and unless he is removed the Labour party is finished. He is an anti British class warrior who, had he not been fortunate in gaining a safe Labour seat would be unemployable elsewhere. How can a pacifist be a Prime Minister? The Labour party needs to get rid of him and his maoist acolytes and get back to doing what it should be doing, e.g. providing positive alternatives to the government.
